Bolt stripped of 2008 relay gold medal because a teammate tested positive for doping. Same that thing happened to Michael Johnson.

At the end of the day, we are playing 4 Freshmen and 1 Sophomore the majority of the time. That's pretty amazing when you think about it. We can ***** all we want, but there will be growing pains. It's inevitable with the makeup of this roster. Willis is a role player. Nothing more, nothing less.

2012 - 2 Sophomores and 1 Senior playing 25-30 minutes per game
2015 - 1 Junior, 2 Sophomores playing 25 minutes per game

Even 2010 had a very good Junior playing 33 MPG.

This team just doesn't have that. But it does have 3 incredible freshmen, and 1 very good freshman. So let's just see what we do, and have fun with it. The upperclassmen experience just isn't there, outside of Briscoe (who is only a Sophomore).

My point -- obviously -- was that the temporary effects of not having him chirping their ears is that they played looser in those games. Would it last? No. Would the team be better with him not there? No. But they (for whatever reason) objectively played better in those 2 occasions when he wasn't there. Pretty sure that exact point was made on this very message board by many people at the time...

A lot of people on this very message board are stupid. Well known fact.

Last night's loss sucks, but some of you need to get a grip. Holy ****, we lose there every other year. No matter how mean the coach is to the players.

If we keep losing and don't improve, maybe it is because Cal yells too much. I personally don't think that is the problem.

Maybe you're right. Maybe we would be 20-0 instead of 17-3 if he just rolled the balls out there and gave the players ribbons and cookies when they did something good. Just pat them on the backside and say, "Better luck next time, Tiger" when they screw up.

More often than not he figures out which buttons to push on each player. His track record suggests he knows who can handle a little toughness and who needs to be babied.

Cal definitely makes mistakes out there. He certainly isn't above criticism. But his yelling at players doesn't bother me. If it bothers them, we can get them some little pink hats with ears.

Who knows? Maybe our team will come out a winner.

Next year's recruiting class is sick, so not going to worry too much about it tbh...

I'm just theorizing, Willy. I don't know. You don't know. Nobody knows. (Except wcc31. He knows everything.)

wcc doesn't know ****. He's going to walk into the Hyatt and be like "Hi, Richie, ol' buddy!"

And Richie is going to go all hood on him and knock him TFO.

Then we are all going to drink and be merry and the Cats are going to win by 90 and Richie is going to be a groomsman in wcc's wedding.

Richie will be there an hour before tip or 2 hours before kickoff, per usual.

He does this same song and dance every time.

NJ

This year's recruiting class was also sick, but they'll be gone next year and we'll be dealing with a whole new crop of players with the same learning curves. Not complaining, but it does get frustrating sometimes not having the right combination of dependable vets to steady the boat when needed.

Wodie... That's football when I have the lass with me and we have unseemingly five thousand things to do before we leave town and or arrive in Lexington before we get to the Extrav. Plus traffic.

Saturday will be much easier. Check into hotel about 1:30. Order Uber and select the destination.

Anth... I'm going to do my part. What is the crew's plan? Saddle up at the Hyatt?

From another board and I really want to believe this:

NewIt's known within the broadcasting industry he tips his friends off on how he laid a bet down with purposely mispronouncing a player's name during the game. He does it in all games he's bet on--and he doesn't even hide it. This dates back to days at CBS too. And it's always an obvious player that he's done games several times throughout his broadcasting career/or a player everyone knows and for whatever reason Brent decides he's not going to get the guy's name right that day and butchers the guy's name. As Brent would say "There are some interested fans out there awaiting result of this play........."

Ask FSU fans---they can remember his "Ty Cody" calls when he did over 10 games during the guy's career and decided to call TAY Cody "Ty" for an entire game even though the other games he never screwed up once. Recently, was watching a UK basketball game and he destroyed Bam Adebayo's last name throughout the game. (Ad-A-Buy-O) isn't that hard to pronounce. But he let all know the pts were in on opponent (Mississippi State)

Yeah, and UT started 3 (less talented) freshmen last night.

Rumor online that BBC St. Matthews is closing/sold, and is going to become

...Sully's? o_O Surely to God that isn't true. Some also saying a country/western bar.

A country and western bar in the middle of Saint Matts?? :joy::joy::joy:

M'kay.

BBC (or a similar style brewpub/restaurant) was perfect for that spot. I just thought the ambiance and the food were meh.

Wodie.. Talked to someone on Sat who said the same thing. Don't see how that's a good fit for the St Matthews market.

BBC has gone way downhill, IMO. 10 yrs ago there wasn't much competition in St Matt's and the craft beer scene wasn't anything it is today.

That's exactly what St. Matts needs. An awful crowd of meatheads acting like ******* meatheads, tween girls passing back the same fake ID to get in, pregnant chicks dancing on bars in between shots and cigs... Good lord. PASS.

If the alleged incident happened Dec. 17th, I think the basketball players would be the only ones in the dorm that time of year

Brendan's the bar itself was awful from a logistics standpoint. One small sandbox designed bar towards the front and a DJ all the way in the back by the back. To use the restroom you had to part the grind city sea to make it to the bathroom door. Awful.

Was 28 at the time that place hit its peak or so. Still felt like a kid. Saw some weird **** go on in that place.

Brendan's was the best bar in recent St. Matthew's history. Not sure it's even close.

RIP.

Was briefly running with an out of town "saloon" concept that needed 13,000 SF and 300+ dedicated parking spaces (BBC is 6,500 SF and nowhere close on parking). They would only look in the Breckenridge/Shelbyville area.

K. Will call when Trinity closes.
