7 months no booze...okay I've had 5 beers but at completely different times. The friend requests drop off severely but gym friends are good too. Feel as good as I've ever felt but definitely miss the hangout with my buds time while sipping cold ones.

Secondly, anyone that thinks they can tell the difference between any light beer is a lie. I've had kegs blown and they ask for miller "f@ck bud light I only drink miller" guy. And I pour a bud light. No surprise, he never notices. Out of a bottle into a plastic cup...maybe. On draft, never. Drink bottles. It's better and more reliable.

Otoh, you can't pull that with a bourbon drinker. The average guy that asks for beam or jack, yes. But a Kentuckian that asks for a makers or Woodford, you can't fool that one.

So not only is he surly, evidently he's a dishonest barkeep.

TIP ME.

One thing I did like about the Euro's, when you ordered a liquor drink, they brought the bottle out and poured it in front of you...and there was no clammoring over a tip. But they did charge you for the mixer.

So Florida just didn't want to play LSU because they had a ton of injuries and used the hurricane as an excuse?

Japan was amazing.

Jet lag is real.

Doing Keeneland tomorrow and Tony's after with a big crew. Holla if anyone will be in the clubhouse and you can buy me a redbull.

Watched the Bama game last night after missing out on pretty much everything sports, including Ryder Cup . But Marcus McWilson sucks. What a bust. Can't tackle and maybe even worse in coverage.

We have to beat Vandy tomorrow - right? I don't know what to think about all this bulllshit newfound optimism coming from the SAE camp. I mean, we're doing cartwheels because they're playing hard? K. Tomorrow will be a nice test. Hope our QB shows a little more poise and makes good decisions. If he does we will roll, I think. Y'all have fun.

May have some extra BW game tix if anyone is interested. Couple rows from the floor.

pretty much. seems impossible this game gets played, everyone saying both sides buy out their easy Nov 19th patsys & play it then. that forces LSU to give up a home date & all that revenue, plus finish the season playing 3 SEC road games in 13 days.

the new SEC commish let them treat him as their *****. Sankey should have on Wed laid down the law to them, either reschedule the game for Sunday or Mon night or pack your **** & head to baton rouge.

Yeah, in London the pubs/bartenders don't expect a tip, don't have a tip jar, and don't even leave you an option on your CC receipt in most cases. It's simply not part of the deal there, which is pretty wodie.

We did some anyways, of course -- but watching all the regulars & suits, nobody did. Pretty wodie #lc

Mashburned read your post and assumed you were speaking about America, actually.

To clear this up, Mash, they're referencing Europe. 15-20% over here, bud.

@Geese Feeder, I want to hear more about Japan. I've never really wanted to visit Asia all that much with the exception of Japan which seems awesome.

Pulling a BBDK and going to ease into some randoms and then after enough ppl ask I'll plan to drop it.

Struggling today tho. Napped on the couch for about two hours last night after getting in but that was it. If you don't count that, I've been up for about 30 straight hours. WTF.

-Hurricane coverage is so addicting, always gives me mixed emotions watching & enjoying it so much if that makes any sense.

-Definitely interested in a 1st timer report from Japan/Asia. Can't imagine the culture shock and sensory overload over there. Pretty awesome you guys get to do it with lifelong locals who speak English, can't imagine how intimidating it would be otherwise, although I'm sure it still is even with that luxury.

Will forever be turbo jelly of the business traveler. Get your points game in check bub, shew.

Also be sure to add how the lassie feels about all this. :)

My wife is taking the boys to Keeneland today and we are both legitimately concerned that this will open the door wide open to our oldest kid becoming a degenerate gambler. He's already obsessed with money and schemes, so seeing someone win "easy" money on horses won't help.

-Just trying to enjoy the season, bub. And as a :football:, watching a team/MY team go through the trials and tribulations of a season is interesting to me so long as they're actually, you know, trying. I could sit around and ***** and moan about how we're not going to the Sugar Bowl (AGAIN), or I could have something to look forward to each Saturday. Pretty simple, really.

-Spending a little extry coin on the patio renovation for the stairs/landing off the back door. Chippendale railing FTW. Colonial or GTFO IMO. Will look dope.

-Just realized we're a little more than a month away from Thanksgiving. [sick]

/bbdk

-Got a hall pass starting tomorrow at 3:45 pm. Told her to enjoy her Saturday night and make sure baby girl gets to bed at a reasonable time.

-$40 haircut today at 1:00.

-Simpleton Footnote: For tacos I am perfectly content with the Ortega Family Taco Night kit. Add some sour cream and grated cheddar cheese and it's completely unreal. That red sass is :fire:.

My roommate and I took a ten day vacation to Japan with very little prep work in '06. ($650 direct RT from JFK.)

I had to buy a map and phrasebook at Narita.

It's whatever, but suffice it to say, "Get Off Me."

After nearly 90 days of nonstop ********, I'm actually kinda pumped about my ****** weekend.

Moving Sat/Sun
Closing on Sale Monday
Closing on Purchase Tuesday
Unpacking, Organizing, Furnishing, and being broke Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun....

That's my schedule this weekend, and the foreseeable future. Pretty pumped overall, though.

Tip: Don't sell your home to a VA buyer if you have other options.

...DID hire movers, though. "Best money I've ever spent" has been said to me more times than I can count, and 100% of the time when brought up.

Anybody have a friend who majored in art or web design or something similar and is looking for a great job?

I'm looking for someone young (24-29 would be ideal but age is not really a factor) who is creative and proficient with Macs. Experience with Photoshop, Quark, and Microsoft Office is a must.

They will be doing newspaper ads, program ads, point of sales materials, banners and signage for grassroots events, and various PowerPoint presentations and news releases, memos, etc.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a fantastic small company. We'll probably do a 6-month trial or something similar and if things go well and you can handle the pressure, it's a job for life situation.

Basically, you'll be doing most of my current job. Daddy's about to become a full-time producer.

- Avery Johnson just landed two 4* recruits with designs on Collin Sexton as well. At least, I hope he gets Sexton and keeps him from Kansas. Obviously, he wants Petty, too, but no way Cal loses that dude.

- So, Eifert's hurt again. The Who Deys struggle bigtime in the red zone without him.

- What year was it that the residual winds from a hurricane were so bad that they knocked out power for just about everyone? I remember being hungover AF driving back from a UK football game completely unaware of the circumstances and wondering why my cars was so hard to control.

- @B.B.d.K. if you have a Serial hard-on, the Cincinnati Enquirer has a podcast that is a blatant rip off, including a reporter woman who does her best to sound exactly like Koenig. It covers a murder of a Miami(OH) coed in 1978. Called "Accused."

- I imagine business travel would get very old very quickly, especially if you had a wife and kid(s).

- My sense of $$$ is all out of whack. I think nothing of dropping $60 on a dinner or a night at the bars, but if I'm spending that at the grocery where we buy food for 3-4 meals, it bothers me.

Sounds like you're ready to anesthetize a patient!

- Speaking of, I've been up for 28 hours, currently sitting in the SW line to board at Logan. I look, smell, and feel like a homeless person.

- UCL, I was the exact same way, and pretty sure my degeneracy started after watching blackjack at Ascension's fall festival circa 1995. SHEW. Love me some Catholic gambol.

- using my vacation to head home and interview in Lex and Cincy. I'm sure I'll find my way to stumble into Keeneland a time or two.

- Cats are 1-0 with me in attendance, I'll be looking to bump that to 2-0 this weekend (by at least 3 points please).

- ZERO college football gear in Logan this morning sans my UK (no UH) pullover. Sad place. All RED SAWX AND PATS BABY!

What age does old man strength come along btw? Kind of feel like that's maybe settled in for Dad. I mean, I recently have lifted, moved, ripped apart, carried, etc. more than should be expected of me given my current state of physical condition. Actually been impressed tbh.

- c_b would be a helluvan addition to Cincinnati. I think you'd love it here. You're too big for Lexington, IMO.

- UCL and BRax just love to laugh about their little heathen children and their crazy antics, but they're not going to be laughing when they become juvenile delinquents in a few years. Then it will be society's fault. Parent better.

I think there's a direct correlation to old man strength and random back/shoulder hair.

Maybe chase or PTI can find a JAMA article on it.

The key is, never go to the grocery store hungry. Always eat before you go, if not you buy tons of **** you normally have no desire to buy. Wish some of you would post in the degenerate Gambol thread, need to steal some plays.

Ole Brohm may be losing a little of his shine. Lost to La. Tech giving up 55, sitting at 2-3, strggled in one of the wins, Miami (OH) I think.

Kid Rock in Nashville tonight. I am sure the crowd will be a very interesting mixture to say the least. Out door Amphitheater.

-that was the weekend you Sunday morning finger banged jersey girls mixed Asian friend, iirc. Also the weekend of that classic pic with us singing the fight song. Not sure that was related to a hurricane just a random *** sunny day wind storm that was crazy.

-an occasional business trip is ok and I guess international would be awesome but no thanks on the reg. I love my weekly schedule and hanging with the fam. ****, I was only in ****** Indy all last week and ready to get home. Can't imagine doing that every week. Geese's experience is obviously a different level of awesome.

-Keeneland 4 days in 1 week:joy:

-Had the over last night and after 1st half it was like 6-0. Sure 'nuff ABH makes a smart-*** comment. They end up scoring 51+points after his comment. Lol. This happens at least one a week.

-Once... first episode was OK. Second is losing me. When does Master of None come back?

-high of 84 today :sunglasses:

* UCL, you're in. Can you take a pay cut?

* c_b, a house is available on my street in Brandywine on the Little Miami right now. I'll put your name down.

Cincy is ready for you.

* Closing on our refinancing today. When Marge starting talking about it, I was like blah, blah, blah, honey I'm trying to read the Catspaw. But it is really going save us some serious coin.

* Speaking of coin, the new living room furniture is arriving today as well. This was purchased the day I told her I was going on a NYC guys trip to watch the Cats and the WhoDeys on back to back days.

Over/Under on when something is spilled on it by one of the kids or Pokey the cat decides to track some paw cancer blood on it: 2 weeks.

* Put the old stuff out on the curb last night (garbage night). There are always a couple of dudes driving around in pickups looking to find treasure every week. Nobody took it.

Had to drag it back in my garage and called 1-800-GOT-JUNK this morning.

* BBdK, I hope the moving process is as big of a pain in the *** as possible for you. But hiring movers was definitely a great move.

* I feel good about the Cats this week. That means we probably lose by 20.

* Listening to The Cars entire catalog today. Excellent.

Agree the hurricane coverage is addicting. I think it's fascinating from a scientific standpoint, but also from a sociological one. Usually the news is full of conflict and vitriol, but in a situation like this, you see people banding together against a common threat. Everything else takes a backseat and the focus is on the most basic human condition - life and death. Also, hurricanes can cause such widespread devastation. A tornado might stay on the ground for several miles, and you can't really predict when one will touch down. A hurricane you see coming. You know it's coming, and there's not **** you can do about it. And it doesn't just hit a narrow 2-3 mile band like a tornado. It hits hundreds of miles over the course of days. Plus, it has a 1-2 punch. There's the initial wind and rain, but then comes the storm surge. I think that's even more terrifying. So seeing communities unite in preparation, including offers of aid from all over the country, is heartening. I get the mixed emotions though, because despite the preparations, there is still loss of life and extensive property damage. You look at someplace like Haiti, where the people are least equipped to deal with tragedies like this, and it seems like they get hit every couple of years. Their day-to-day life is a struggle, so when something catastrophic happens, it's especially heartbreaking.

He's becoming nearly insufferable on the GAMBOL email with his incessant whining, may bring it to a vote whether to include him in the syndicate going forward.

Then again, he's developing a Randall-like reverse-jinx ability, so maybe he still has some value to us.
