Never understood Car Guy, however I envy him when I have to take my ride into the shop.

What professions are best for having a family member or close friend? Mechanics? HVAC? Lawyers, perhaps?
UNDERRATED: hairdresser hookup for kids' hair cuts since they was just coming up

CMD, was in Orlando during Hurricane Jeane in 2004. Whole city shut down...WDW, restaurants, grocery stores, etc. Very weird seeing a whole city closed. We did get to WDW the next day though once the storm had passed...and it was pretty empty. That was awesome.

Shew, I can't tell you how many times family and friends have asked me to write Essbase calc scripts and member formulas, SQL queries, and Oracle reports. o_O

"So CMD, what do you do for a living?"

"Well, I started in accounting, went right into industry so didn't get my CPA, but did get an MBA, had a stint working with the Beans, then had the opportunity to work with Hyperion, which was a software company purchased by Oracle, which lead to a move into financial systems, and..."

"K."

Supposed to be flying into Miami tomorrow at 5PM for a conference this weekend. Just received an email that they are not canceling it. Should be interesting. o_O

I hate beer. Will drink it though, but usually something fancy like a Great Lakes Christmas Ale or something, but after 2 I feel really full and then I switch to liquor. Don't know how you guy drink 6-10 beers in one sitting.

I was there in 1999 when Floyd was looking like it was going to hit. First time WDW ever closed anything weather-related in history. Animal Kingdom had just opened, too.

So, of course it took a duck-hook north and smashed the Carolinas instead.

I've got an 8am appointment to get blood drawn for about the 5th time in a couple months. Turns out my liver enzymes are all jacked up. Can't imagine why. But, if I have cirrhosis, I pretty much win the drinking contest.

CMD--I worked for Hyperion for three years back in 2001-2004, area sales rep. Where do you work---we may have met.

I was the administrator of Hyperion Enterprise 4.3 at Vencor/Kindred. Around 2000-2001, they went away from Hyperion and I moved into mergers and acquisitions. Did a stint at Bank of America in M&A, then moved to Humana in 2006 to work on an Oracle implementation. In 2007, Oracle purchased Hyperion, so we started implementing some of their BI tools. I was the Oracle sys admin at the time, so didn't have much to do with the reporting side initially. Over time, though, our use of Hyperion grew substantially to the point where we needed a separate team. I moved over to that team in 2013 and have been there since. Now all I do is Hyperion-related. More than you ever wanted to know about my career path, but there you go.

Can never drink enough beer to get drunk. It's like making a conscious effort to drink more water. At a certain point my brain just tells me I don't want any more.

The only advice I ever get solicited for is from my friends who had kids young that want to know if whatever their kid is doing/not doing is advanced/behind for their age. I teach sophomores. I don't know dick about when a kid should learn to tie his shoes, but it'd probably happen faster if you'd stop instagramming the kid and teach him something.

Feels like my basketball excitement is even higher than normal this year. I think it's the mentality of the players. First time in years we haven't had a Willie, Poythress, Skal, etc. who just might shrink when we need him in a major role. Don't point out Willis. Let me have this.

Dog sitting. Took about three days for me to become the most important thing on earth to these dogs. I'm their owner now, as far as they're concerned.
