Compulsory post, because it's still stuck in my craw:

With ~5 minutes left, Kaminsky goes to the line. All of the UW players are tugging their shorts. They're obviously worn out. Kaminsky short-arms the free-throw. I turn to atlantahappycat and say, they're exhausted, they're toast, we win.

Usually it only took 25-30 minutes for us to wear teams down. UW hung in there, but they finally hit the wall at 35 minutes. But instead of hitting the accelerator and finishing it at that point (in fact, only one more made FG might have been the dagger), we hold up and let them catch their breath.

I Guaran-F'ing-Tee if Tyler Ulis is in that ballgame, we do not get 3 straight shot-clock violations.

Last year was the reverse of 2012 for me. 40-0 just seemed too good to be true. I thought Arizona would be the ones to take us out, as they matched up well with us. Even though I wasn't convinced we'd win it, that loss has lingered because if not with that team, then when?

Like Geese said, I never could lock in on this year's team after last year's letdown. I enjoyed watching Ulis, Murray and Willis, but it's like this was somewhat of a lost season for me.

And I totally get why it's being rehashed now, 1 year later. We all - or at least I - needed to get through this season to finally turn the page on last season.

Now, bring in BMF and the rest of the Monstars, and let's get to work on 9.

First off, I agree that Ulis should've been in the game, but...

Wisconsin with their big frontline 6'9", 6'9" and 7'0" and guards (6'4" and 6'4") provided a bit of an issue for us defensively, specifically Dekker. I think Calipari decided to go with defense down the stretch, thus going with the Harrisons, Lyles, WCS and Towns. It worked as Wisconsin struggled there for a bit until Hayes' bucket with the shotclock expired.

So, Calipari thought he needed to go big on Dekker meaning 3 frontcourt players. That leaves with two guards. You can't sit Aaron (most clutch player in UK history, perhaps) and Andrew had proven pretty clutch as well. Look at the game before against ND. Odd man out-> Ulis.

Now, that was a mistake, when you look at it as a mostly-effective defensive play, it's understandable.

Bottomline, the Harrisons...clutch as long as we'd known them...didn't make the winning plays, while Wisconsin with help from the refs and Dekker's bomb, did.

Really like to be there at the Craft Center for the first pickup game this summer when Lee *tries* to guard Bam.

It'd be like The Tin Man from the Wizard of OZ getting in the way of a raging bull.

Self wins AP COY as well, lol.

Valentine POY. Tough call between him or Hield, but give me Hield. Postseason should matter a bit...

I had veered toward Valentine at the end of the season, but Hield was right there and has been amazing in the tourney. He should get it.

I worked in politics, campaigns, for a legislator, etc years ago. I've been around lobbyist enough to know that's its a very competitive, dirty game, with lots of talented veterans, and lots of money. If some 25 year old substitute teacher that wears a cape thinks he is making a difference in his first month, well bless your heart I guess.

I'm 31, and to be fair, you're a failed politician...

Tommyg walked into a new industry totally blind, halfway across the country, and in 4 days already....

* has every politician in Nebraska eating out of the palm of his hand
* has been promoted to a senior manager type position
* is building a large team underneath him
* knows the industry in and out
* is setting the works on fire performance wise
* is ready to tip the entire political balance of the state in the opposite direction

Okay, brah.

Pretty sure tommy's been promised a position selling Mikel Knight CDs after this. He should be fine. Really. Fine.

Either that or authentic Steak House Steaks.

Kind of ironic that two of our best teams that failed to win the title, 2010 and 2015, were further compounded by Duke sneaking off with two titles.

I mean, I'm over this year, but those two nut shots still hurt.

Umm, it's an extremely tough job and a daily grind...learning a lot as I go. Definitely not just coasting along. I manage one city/county out of 93.

Have a team of 6 right now petitioning for me, trying to get that to 12.

And I have worked campaigns before, for the damn tobacco industry.

But yeah, by putting in these 16-18 hour days, I'm doing pretty well. Plus it's something I love doing.

Apparently Evan Daniels tweeted that Kentucky is out of the running for Bolden, but then quickly deleted it and denied ever sending it.
