Used to love the way Cawood would call out officials. Never really came off homerish either.

No one has or will replace Cawood behind the mic but agree w/SAE, if there is any one thing I envy UofL, it's Paul Rogers, guy is fantastic play-by-play.

Can you imagine the riots if the Brazilian government locked up Neymar? That would be like locking up Lebron or MJ. Can't do that. Hell, it took 20 years to lock up OJ, and that wasn't even for the infamous double murder.

Never knew you could do that on a penalty kick. I thought it was one guy vs the other.

Why not do something like that every time?

Had no idea that was allowed either. Love a good trick play, in any sport.

Hidden 'ball' lacrosse for the win.

A penalty kick is better than 50-50 to score a goal. Takes some pretty big stones to opt out of that percentage and try something else. If you catch the other team napping like that then it looks brilliant, but if you did it and screwed it up, you'd look like the Seahawks throwing the ball on the one yard line last year.

They were up 3-1 in the 80th minute, so why not? It's only been tried at an elite level a handful of times. It helps to have 2 of the best 5 players in the world executing the play.

Practiced it all the time, never had the balls to pull it off in a game. Mainly due to fear of coach murdering as all. And the fear of missing/screwing it up. Shew. Would never hear end of it.

In addition to defenders, goalie can come out and if they're prepared they can cut down angles significantly.

You clearly have no clue what you're talking about. So please stop. Thanks.

The guy asked why they don't do it every time. I gave the correct answer to be helpful. The answer is that it's a high percentage chance at something that's typically difficult to do and it's usually not smart to risk that. That's why it isn't done every time.

I used an incorrect term and didn't google the exact percentage, only knowing that it was a higher than average percentage. But hey, **** me, right? I'll leave you fellas to your soccer sabremetrics now. See ya.

Looks like I'm out of the GELex for up to 6 months. Apparently a hard shot to the abdomen could result in a ruptured liver or spleen. Being the banger I am, that's a no go. Follow up visit later this week so I'm hopeful the new Doc is let robotic and more real life.

WagerCat NCAA Championship Odds today:

Michigan St +600
UNC +700
OU +700
Kansas +750
Kentucky +900
Villanova +900
Iowa +900
Maryland +1000
Virginia +1000
Duke +1200
West Virginia +1700
Xavier +1700

...so, Vegas gets it. There is no "favorite" this year, at least compared to usual. The top line will change 15x over the next few weeks, but nobody is going to emerge as heavy.

We're right there.

Damn, Anth. Get better buddy.

This a result of the Mono? Never heard that before...don't players come back from Mono and play all the time once they're over it? I know it can be awhile, but never heard it being a "season ending" deal, which 6 months would be in any sport except NHL which is 365 days per year.

6 Months sounded aggressive and I am firing that doctor because he initially diagnosed me with a sinus infection. So hopefully the next doctor gives me a little more hope for my 6th man of the year award.

He also told me to avoid getting punched in the stomach and asked me several times if I used intravenous drugs. Maybe I should have gone to my pharmacists.

From the intranet robot:

Because the spleen, an organ in the abdomen, is often enlarged with mononucleosis infection, it's at a greater risk of being ruptured. Contact sports such as football and soccer should be avoided at least for several weeks. Your doctor can clear you for a return to contact sports.

You can come over Anth and I'll scan your spleen, see if its enlarged. If its normal size the risk is much smaller.

Can check your mommy parts out too.
