So I’m trying out Twitter. Do you have to just block all the random people that show up on your feed without following them?

I don’t need to see what realblackOG has to say at all not the 50 other people I don’t follow to show up.

- What a moment for that kid who ended the LLWS on a walk-off. Hope this doesn't spiral GYERO into another two pages of arguing about the legitimacy of all-star youth sports, but can't imagine there's anything cooler for a 12-year-old than to win a world championship on national TV with one swing of the bat. Unreal.

- Can't get enough of college football articles, specials, etc. this week. For some stupid reason, The Athletic released a college hoops Top 25 yesterday. Great timing, guys. NOBODY is thinking about college hoops until the first week of October.

- Even my kid, who attends an ACC school but doesn't care (yet) about college sports, thinks it's ridiculous that the conference might be adding Cal/Stanford/SMU. Even my best explanation($$$) doesn't make sense to her. Ditto for me, pal.

- Jerry Claiborne just coached at Kentucky in the wrong era. The initial 0-10-1 season aside, if the rest had been 12-game seasons, as they are now, he would have likely made at least a lower-tier bowl game in every single one of them. His 6-5 final team didn't even get invited to a bowl. Such fond memories of the guys from that era. Big Ivy Joe Hunter house here.

- On a James Taylor kick this morning. Always enjoyed his shows at Riverbend. Perfect music for a hazy summer evening out on that lawn.

Click the large and very prominent “Following” tab.
-But when I do it says “follow” so&so, I’m not already following them why are they there?

-Anyway, special court hearing today at 3 should be an awesome waste of my time and money.

-Bathroom WILL Be finished today 🕺🏼.

-This whole move to SP being delayed a wee bit might have been a blessing in disguise. Don’t have to worry about sandbagging my doors or getting all my stuff wet. Fingers crossed it’s not that bad.

Storm surge 6-11’ 20 mins up the road at Florida moms house who lives on the inter coastal. Her kids couldn’t help so she basically just took family photos to work and said do what you will mother nature.

It also said that same storm surge for Irma and we got nothing floodwise there. 🤞

-Stoked for the game Sat 😎

So happy I trimmed my trees this weekend and have mountains of limbs at the curb right now. It's a race between the winds they're predicting here and the yard waste pick-up service that only comes around on Wed.

-Sat out on the front porch with Btothe5th this morning waiting on the bus and there was no mistaking that cool breeze, football is here. Immediate serotonin release.

-Youth football in the state still has a ways to go. It's a mess on the "organized" travel team level. Whereas baseball is oversaturated and over the top with their organization, for 9-10 year-old football it is the Wild West. It's an every week thing wondering if the other team will show up (or even exist) and then when they get there the roster they sent you on Wednesday may as well be set on fire because they are definitely not the kids on the field. It's sad because the lack of organization is hurting the kids and the high school teams they're going to feed into. It's crazy how different teams are from Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Alabama, etc not because of the athletes on the field, but because of the coaching. This state needs more Alvis Johnsons.

-Hit a weird funk at work. Everything is working and we're crushing it but there is definitely a level of complacency creeping in that I don't like. I've done the getaway and refresh thing but that isn't it. My gig is awesome, but I almost feel like it's working too well and I need something to grind away on. It's not time for a convertible yet but maybe a blue-collar hobby.

Yeah, I made sure to not listen today. Kash Daniel on the pre-show was good though. In general, I like that show a lot more than I expected when it was initially announced.

Speaking of football, one of you all mentioned an injury prone Leary. Which, yes, on the surface he is. But KSR talked about his injuries the other day and how Leary doesn’t like being called injury prone b/c his 2 injuries were freak things. The first in 2020 was a broken fibula and then last year was a torn pectoral from a big hit by an FSU defensive lineman. That’s not quite the same as having a recurring ankle injury or other chronic things. Sunshine, rainbows, etc.

And maybe you all knew this already but I am behind on my football reading and hadn’t investigated his injuries.

Article from June (I need to get with the times):
Quarterback Devin Leary's comeback starts now at Kentucky

Speaking of articles, the article in the TCP Football Yearbook about Ray Davis and everything he's perservered through in his life is really inspiring. I don't think it's linkable, but it will absolutely make you want to pull extra-hard for that kid.
That was incredible article. Very well written.

- my buddy supposedly has the Lebron James of ******* game cocks. Thing is built like a tank. Has won three poultry shows in a row. I’m not sure it has a mark. I’d be surprised if it doesn’t win several more before retiring

With that being said I can’t believe you would bring that sort of talk into these sacred chambers cricket.
