I enjoy working in the yard, something you can see tangible results. However the new lot is ****. I have the lake soil so its nothing but white clay and rocks. Getting quotes this week to Harley rake and bring in topsoil. Not looking forward to this bill but don't have much of a choice. Even if sodded i'd have to bring in topsoil.

You can work in the wild grasses and flowers as well without manicuring a weed that others expect you to also enjoy doing. I don’t enjoy it unless I’m gardening and I’m not touching my grass with water, pray it dies and never comes back.

There are a lot of copperheads in soky is probably the main reason.

I’m not putting green lawn guy. Pay my guy to mow every 10 days or so.

I just marked off a solid area to let grow up for awhile to see what kind of tree I can get to sprout.

I think taking care of your lawn is representative of the type of person you are. Much like having an organized house, clean car, being on time etc etc.

Kind of a respect thing. I pay to keep our yard up so I won’t be saying or judging either way because while I don’t want to do all the work it takes on a bigger lot I also like my yard taken kept nice.

Kind of like people that take care of how THEY look?

I look way more into how you treat yourself than weeds outside your house.

-How is Ball State? Need a quick 1st half *** kicking.

-What day we dropping the BMW podcast this season?

-Watch it, Wayne. Keep your weird *** township wife swapping in east Louisville. Only warning.

-Indian Summer looks to be coming as I predicted. ❤️🔥

-Cocktails with the neighbor last night. Stood up, and was like... damn I'm pretty toasty. Realized the sumbitch veered off the normal 90-100 proof pours and went with barrel proof stuff. Sheesh.

Vern and most of his Portland neighbors have pursued that natural approach. Definitely no upkeep whatsoever. Looks great.

I made my oldest change his VM greeting a few weeks ago. It used to be him doing his best Indian accent with that stereotypical Indian style music playing in the background. Very on-brand but also pretty troubling. Don't need him getting canceled before he ever makes it out of middle school.

Speaking of middle school, first football game this week. Sounds like he'll be rotating between TE/DL/RB. For the first time ever hes telling me he loves football & cant wait for the games to start. Ive long contended football could be his best sport if he had any passion for it at all. I still prefer baseball, but I'm glad hes got something else hes enjoying.

This looks like it has the makings of the best weather week of the year. Low 80's, dry, & football. Fellas,

Monday Shorts:

-Helluva weather stretch through mid week. Of course, it will be back to 95 just in time for FOOTBALL TIMEEEEEE IN THE BLUEGRASSSSSSS!

-Jacked up, nonetheless. Feel like this could be our best balanced squad, but also can't help being a little wary that our season hinges so much upon the health of a potential star, but injury prone QB.

-Seviche Friday evening w/ Uncle, Bro, and Lass. My #1 in Lou 15 years strong, just hard to see it ever being unseated....slaps every time.

-Gravely brewing after to see the boy Bonz do his thing. My man flat gets down on the drums, and Gravely is a really cool/unique brewery. I don't have an awful lot for the boring/wood/industrial ones that are basically taps and picnic tables. Place is built for music, has TVs, cool lighting & design. Big fan.

^ almost asked if you'd like to hit the slopes courtesy of an animal in my party, but you seemed plenty sweaty. Shirt off for the 2H was quite the move, btw. Your lassie had a few lil yelps lmao -- nice work on that, btw.

-Tracy Lawrence Friday night at Manchester, a nice lil primer for Labor Day weekend. 😍

-One of the reasons I have a short love for summer is the fact I don't really do that much. It's pretty redundant for dog dad. Work, Golf, Pool, repeat. Fun for a bit, but gets mundane fast. Sports basically disappear. My travel is mostly relegated to the other seasons, and I'm lucky to see my peeps 2-3x all summer; especially now that they're all-in w/ the baseball grind. Fall gets the crew back together consistently, at least from my end.

Opening Weekend/Holiday. Baha Mar the following week. Chapelle Tuesday upon return. Golf Trip 2 weeks later. Napa Valley October. Champions Classic November. Football every week. Basketball in the distance.

Tis the SZN! Let's. GO! 🍻

- A buddy of mine (and his brother) changed their parent’s landline greeting to Beastie Boy’s “So What’cha Want” in early high school. They didn’t catch on until he was in college and were irate.

- I had the Greatest American Hero / Constanza voicemail message (edited with my name) for a bit - as you would assume.

- I use the Voice Memos app on iPhone to make audio recordings of my kids first learning to read / recite books out loud at bedtime and singing songs as toddlers before that. - Highly recommend to parents out there.

-yards are great. Yardwork from mid July to mid September is ********.

-neighbor* is doing the "natural" yard thing...of course she's semi retired and very well off, so it's done correctly. Ours is a mix.. lots of flowers/native stuff but still with plenty of structure. still gotta replace boxwoods this fall/spring. Sad face.

*70ish, very fit... only good covid memory: at eldest's front yard/drive by (ffs... what were we thinking) HS grad party, the old man noticed her and was all "who Dat, 👀". Cute and disturbing all at the same time.

Noticed while trying to cut my lawn before heat stroke that some nice people came to resod the burn spots the arson neighbor left behind for his wife and daughter to deal with. I offered to help them move the cement picnic table from the front yard to behind an Arby's so someone can chain smoke heaters on it but told they were only sod folks.

Have a feeling Josh Kattus is going to really break out this year despite the depth at TE. He's been a bad MF'er since he arrived last fall, and the coaches were outspoken about his mean streak.

They're really going to put a guy in jail, ruin his life, drag his whole family through the mud over an overexuberant kiss? This cottage industry of extreme outrage is insane.

FF draft this Sunday night in Cincy with lots of fellow auto peeps. The host told me last year "No more bourbon!" after the drunken **** show that commenced last year. Last week text: "You're bringing the bourbon, right? Love these guys.

This earns her the #1 Mom coffee mug.

Rubiales' mother Angeles Bejar has locked herself in the Divina Pastora church in Motril on the southern Spanish coast - the town where her son was raised - and has gone on a hunger strike because of the "inhuman hunt" against him.
