To say “republicans aren’t for charters” is a bit of a stretch too, though.

What republicans are against is losing votes, and as we saw with Bevin the teachers union has voting power, so being brash and loud against their wishes is going to cost you votes.

Not to mention, outside of Jefferson County having charter schools is not even necessary and I doubt the republicans represent that area in Frankfort.

John Boel tweeted a story that one of the kids yesterday was a 7-8 year old little boy forced off a bus at 7:30pm on Bardstown Rd because he didn't know where he lived and his English isn't great. Some patrons at a restaurant saw the lost little kid and found on his backpack he went to Fern Creek Elem. they called the school and an employee working after hours manning phones because of the f-up said the boy's Mom was at the school and hysterical and came out with someone from the school to get the kid at this restaurant. The school employee said the bus driver will be dealt with. Turns out the school had assigned the kid to the wrong bus.
Just unbelievable, I can't imagine if it was my kid.

My Taylor pork roll was mush with quick sear and white American cheese on a soft roll… served at a staple breakfast joint. This is the most likely normal prep. Quick and dirty.

Salt on salt. Less porky goodness.

Man, can't believe we don't hire more bi-lingual bus drivers to help manage all the illegal immigrant children we have to support.

With unemployment so low, it's tough to find workers of many types, bus drivers included.

Specific to JCPS, I thought the whole purpose of their bus plan was to keep the schools from being deemed 'segregated', as letting a segregated community just send kids to the school closest to them led to, well... segregated schools.

Rather than link an article about the NAACP opposing charter schools, I'll phrase it this way:

How many of these games will UK football win this year? I'll guess 8.

He could have driven the kid back to the school, maybe? Also, it's a kid and while there is a migrant/alien issue it bothers me too that some of these people don't feel like they have any recourse.

I went to the Bengals home opener a few years ago- back when they were terrible. First game of the season. They get the ball after the other team had it (and presumably scored). TV timeout of change in possession, teams break huddle, and the Bengals promptly commit a delay of game. Had all off season, start of the game, timeout, huddle, and play clock to get ONE PLAY started, and they effed it up.

Kinda feels like an apt comparison to JCPS and their buses this week.

Same bubber, although it's been 20 (30?) years, i have a weird urge to make one more run through some coasters/extreme water slides. 💯 Actually rode the NYNY coaster for the first time in Vegas back in June, was surprisingly dope.

Thinking about asking Tony, Wayne & SAE to join for a day of fellowship here soon, if only for the commentary.

-so gyero's outspoken jeffco libs send their kids to private religious schools? Shocking.
Honestly, there's really not an option if you have the means or can get in the traditional system. JCPS's problems aren't new. They've just been exposed more recently.

-I know how bad jcps is...had a brief thought of moving there in 2014 already had a plan to send kids to private schools if we made the move, just busting balls...and highlighting a bit of (understandable) hypocrisy.

Hope I don’t catch a stray from this Louisville donnybrook but what’s the better song:

Lit - My Own Worst Enemy

or

Blink 182 - What’s My Age Again

A true toss up for me.

The former is more fun to sing along with a cover band at Tin Roof. But the latter is a better song.
