Youngest (15) has spent all summer on the course. Hasn't cut his hair since basketball ended. He gets dropped off about 10 and picked up around 8 or 9pm. If nobody is on the range, he and his buddies can hit whatever balls they pick up. Ladies in the pro shop keep him supplied with sandwiches and microwave pizza and talk about what a nice young man he is. He's living the dream but the minute he comes home smelling like menthols and crappy golf towels he's done.

I agree with Anth about how time consuming golf is, but all my buddies do it, seems like a great excuse to get some adult bonding time, and it’s a sport I can possibly play with my kids (both sexes) when I’m older. So I found the nicest CC in my suburb and starting building a house 100 yards from the 18th hole and clubhouse. The added bonus is the house, which I started building when my wife was pregnant with our 3rd, won’t be completed until he turns 13 and won’t need constant attention on the weekends so the timing works out perfectly for me to get into the sport #promove

Bike riding also isn’t “just” 2 hours. It requires getting dressed, going to the bathroom, gathering up drinks/snack supplies, doing some **** to the bike to get it ready, then the 2 hour ride, getting home and being hot/tired/sweaty, sauna if possible, shower, rest on the couch to recover, etc.

So of you mix that in with golf every weekend, yes, @anthonys735 would be on my bad side all summer long.
All that is done at the house, hussy.

I’m a single dude with no kids and I have zero desire to to spend any time on the course. I mean, it’s fun to get out with the boys but there’s SO many things I’d rather do.

Especially for those who play the same track every flipping time. Just doesn’t seem like a ton of fun and the gym is damn near free as opposed to golf which is balls, green fees, cart, beers & food.

And it’s definitely not exercise so don’t play that card, but you’re definitely tired afterwards and ready to relax.

Hell I’d rather work on my house than spend all day at the course (I know most of Gyero has people for that but I really enjoy it).

That being said I’d love a pool/clubhouse only CC membership.

I’m with anth though as in I’ll go play a round a couple times a year, you all enjoy those terrible sock tan lines and sleeves though.

Not if he's the bread winner, and spends the majority of every other hour w/ the wife and kids. She should value, endorse, and respect the guy time.

*10-15 hours is actually 8-10 if you're talking 2 full rounds. 1 round a week would be like heading out for milk and bread and running a few errands.
I'm gonna pump the brakes on taking any relationship advice from you.

When we throw a party (let’s say for 12), my wife ensures that there is enough food of every dish for all 12 people.

Let’s say we are having burgers, dogs, wings, potato salad, etc, etc, etc. Each dish has enough to feed 12. Drives me crazy.

Golf for me is 6 hours, counting commute and post round beers. I’d love to play more but pretty tough to tell the wife I’m gone from 8am-2pm every Saturday so I just don’t play.

My wife does give me freedom in other ways though, unlike Chad.

I may have said this but my best bud in KW’s grandma lives on the course and gets four free tickets every year.

I’m like come on bro take me. He’s like man I’ve been so many times I’m good, must be nice.

Well today’s golf content explains why few Gyeroans fish. Wouldn’t be able to count the number of newly divorced, broke posters if they fished. 4 hours wouldn’t be worth the time to even consider fishing.

Rogue, no offense but if you think working out makes people think you’re a badass you might wanna think again. Seen many a bulked up man getting dragged off to never being heard from again over the years. It’s the silent ones that grin with an evil smile and laugh that you better avoid.

Finally got a haircut for the first time in a little over 4 years. Was told for the second time in my life Chemo would make me lose it. My hair was down to the middle of my back. Donated it to people that actually lose their hair so it was worth it. Also the second time I’ve done that.

BLUE!

-I never said it makes you a badass, I said it can make you scarier, more masculine. That’s mostly true.

I would say my decade plus of wrestling and jiu jitsu is much better at making someone a badass.

A jacked guy can’t be quiet and grinning? I agree the people that you should worry about the most aren’t the ones barking but the ones observing closely in silence.

Pretty sure you paraphrased what I said and created your own argument in your head, but that’s okay.

Ya see, folks. Another reason we need the GYERO glow in the dark extreme miniature golf EXPERIENCE. Indoor/outdoor. You take your pick, kemosabe. Whatever tickles your fancy.

Play a round in less than an hour then hang out with your buds post round while enjoying the coldest domestic beer ever on tap paired with a plate of our signature GYERO wings (smoked for 5 hours with an elite blend of spices procured from the finest Caribbean ports then flash fried with light breading and tossed in our own secret fire sauce) and a side of jumbo beer battered onion rings. AND coming in late 2024 all in the same space…the GYERO Sports Book by Fan Duel. Limitless possibilities.

Hot Take!!!!!
Onions are fantastic.
Onion Rings are gross and ruin the onion. I’d rather eat sliced raw onion.

The trick is going to be updating indoor glow in the dark mini golf to meet modern standards. Gonna need LED HD screens throughout showing live sports as well as live scoring of your foursome. Live DJ at least on weekends. Rotating local crafties as well as overpriced “house” cocktail specials. Probably put it on a rooftop. Name it with as little vowels as possible: “GLF (by GYERO)”.

Onion rings are fine but impractical, I get tired of biting into one and pulling out the entire sliver of onion.

Give me onion straws/tanglers any day over rings.

Tonight, on this very stage, DJ Hyman Kaplan!

Similar to shrimp, oysters, clams, a light breading on an onion ring is great.

Playing golf, hiking, cycling, lifting, etc., was part of who you are prior to marriage. Take that away, it's a house of cards.

I indeed do not enjoy a basket of onion rings.

Why y’all gotta fry everything?

100% think all those things, oysters, clams, shrimp, etc are better raw than fried.

Like Grandam, Royal Red shrimp are so different than pinks but they fry them and you can’t tell anything special about them.

Made Brussels yesterday and olive oil, S&P roasted is all you need and super delicious and healthy.

Put some old old Huel pre packaged Sweet & Savory mix in boiling water with a bunch of pinto beans and had so many people ask what it was, “looks delicious!”. I was like a mixture of things in my pantry I’m trying to clean out.

-Ordered all new appliances from Home Depot while on sale over a month ago.

They had no problem taking the money but it still hadn’t processed it been given a shipping date as of yesterday so I canceled that ****.

Saved myself 4K although I’ll prob still buy a new fridge since my dad has broken both drawers and dripped chicken juice throughout the current fridge.

Whoever is renting doesn’t get a new range, over range microwave or dishwasher now though. Will make those improvements before ABNB’ing though.

-Phone keeps saying SIM invalid and I have no service randomly. They reset the network yesterday but keeps happening, super annoying to go to T-Mobile two days in a row.

-onion rings are fine. As Cricket said...better in theory than in practice.

^Raw/sautéed are *far* superior.

-brussels sprouts are great roasted with a simple coating olive oil and salt....but yes bacon/cheese make anything taste better.

-been on the carrot wagon (there ya go @drxman1 ) for a while now. They keep forever* and they're healthy. Herbs (dill or tarragon are my fav) whatever oil you prefer. Profit.

*home econ gripe...wife/kids add a metric **** ton of fruit/perishable veg to click list. I'm 100% behind that. What I'm not behind is watching it rot in the fridge/fruit basket. Same with cold cuts. I shudder to think of the amount of money wasted. I'm far from cheap....but I loathe *wasting* money.

^the problem with click list. Much rather shop/buy in person...but that's not an argument I'm having with a busy spouse, so I'll just bury it in the pit of my stomach with all my other thoughts and emotions...as one does.

-51 tomorrow. Old AF. Still move *really* well on the court...recovery time is the issue.

-off to BC Thursday. Canada fish and game has lowered the Chinook limit to 2 per man for our trip...hopefully fill the void with halibut, Ling cod, etc.

^I get to ride on a big *** helicopter from the mainland to Haida Gwaii. That'll be cool.

-All onion rings aren't created equal. The litmus test is typically clean bites, that don't feature the entire onion slithering out as mentioned above. Easier said than done...

-I like brussels quite a bit, actually -- but they tear my stomach up, so avoid when out, and at home they're not really worth stinking up the entire house for the evening, so i rarely eat them anymore.

-The chili oil/garlic 'fried' green beans that came with my Wagyu Ribeye Saturday were A++, as was the entire meal. As referenced in here yesterday, Lex has a hit in Granddam, imo. Really neat place, and the food (and drink) is unique & awesome.

I thought maybe someone would say well just grab a new SIM card, mine did this too or something.

Thanks for the help though fella!

No matter what you think you are posting and how you think it may go from there, GYERO will never go as planned.

On a different note, nothing better than a school calling to tell us our son was dropped out of school because no birth certificate on file for our 2nd grader. Awesome! Amazing how he made it thru K-1st without a birth certificate.

Hell man we've had guys make it all the way to PRESIDENT without presenting birth credentials.

Then he murdered his chef.
