On a flight to pick up the rarest card I have ever owned. This will be the second one found. Back in 1990 Topps presented President Bush 100 cards of him playing at Yale. For over two and half decades none surfaced. Finally, a few years ago 7 of the White House issued cards surfaced from a former employee. One was signed by Bush. That one isn’t in great shape. It graded a PSA 6.

Yesterday, a gentleman contacted me with one signed by Bush given to his Press secretary. With it is an amazing letter from Bush. Talking about his stats and the cards value in the future. Also, signed. So we agreed on a number and caught the first flight out to meet in the airport

It will probably be one of the few high end items I just refuse to sell. I’ve always wanted the White House issue Bush card and thought it would be impossible. But to have one signed by him with a letter from President Bush is wild.

Just out of curiosity, how do you authenticate it? Obviously, that would be a difficult card/letter to forge but just wondering how you go about ensuring it’s real?

With the letter from President Bush and it being his press secretary that owned it. I am almost sure the autograph is real. But will have PSA/DNA or Beckett(Steve Grad) authenticate it at the National that starts Wednesday luckily. Their opinion is what folks pay big $ in items like this.

The card I know came from the White House because it has a different surface than a handful that were stolen from Topps.

It’s definitely a risk. But on this one a very small risk for a big reward. I take those every time with all the information I have. Literally about to get off the plane and take a look it to be certain.

The only thing I want signed from George bush is a piece of steel from building 7

Or the painting of him on Epstein island crashing a paper airplane into Jenga blocks

-Street fair was a lot of fun last night, good event that, as I do every time I go to something like that, wonder why not do this once a month? It’s a win win for everyone.

-Local hookup (not @WynnDuffy ) for the last couple months blew it up last night. Saw her and her date at the street fair, she was LIT and and started saying some awkward **** in front of her date and I and I just played it off like haha suuuure, you’re funny, alright quit being silly, etc.

I left and she started rapid texting that went from you look good tonight, I want to come over to———> TOUCH YOU NOT ANSWERING MY TEXTS AND PHONE CALLS!!! I thought we were at least friends GUESS I WAS WRONG!!! You’ve hurt my feelings… <—and that’s where that story ends amigos.

Texted her this morning that I hope she had fun last night and made it home safe. She’ll be embarrassed AF I’m sure but that **** is over now. Mfers can’t just have fun, gotta catch feelings every time.

And that’s also another reason why I quit drinking anything but light beer lol. Just reminded me of times when I made that type of mistake, hell with that, can’t imagine the anxiety after those drunk texts this morning, kinda morning that would make me want to start drinking again at 9a.

-Fitting in my shower liner tomorrow with my plumber buddy. Anxious as we already grouted the shower pan in and hoping we left enough room 😬, of course I started thinking about that right at bedtime last night.

-Church and 1st Watch on tap! Happy Sunday gangsters!

A woman caught feelings… never would have thunk it.

I got high a couple wknds back and came home and started firing off work emails. Wanna talk about high anxiety the next morning?? Holding your breath as you are reading the 6 emails you fired off to the CFO, my boss. Luckily they were all coherent and in line with normal work production.

Let’s be team player. Sell that bad boy and we’re talking the biggest, baddest and nicest glow in the dark putt putt event space in the entire US right here in Kentucky. The GYERO finally gets the respect we deserve and it’s just the beginning. We’re talking NIL deals, and collabo opportunities with Down Home Bourbon. Stuff that would make MilqueToast **** his pants.

Everyone loves to see a stacked/star leaderboard Sunday afternoon, but when you have 1 guy playing an entirely separate game from the rest of the field, you gotta tip your cap. Take him out, and you’d have had exactly that.

Just incredible stuff. Essentially a wire to wire cruise control on an extremely difficult course (and today, conditions)

Guy is 5’7/155. Been grinding & competing well for a long time, just been difficult for him to actually WIN vs the beasts of today.

Wasn’t very exciting, but Good for him! 🇺🇸

-190 to win last night was hella value btw.

So, after having seen Paris and most of its offerings, and having still not been reunited with one of our bags (last time we saw was in Nashville), we went to Omaha Beach/Normandy today. My granddad and namesake landed there about three weeks after D-Day. I don't have the words to describe it. We arrived at the American Cemetery right at the end of a ceremony and got to hear Star-Spangled Banner and Taps.

Can’t describe the emotion you will feel when you get your bags.

Went down to the beach to visit frat brother and his family. Dude has a retired CFO brother who built this house…. I mean, there are rich people, then there are others that are on a different level. Apparently, if your beachfront mansion doesn’t have 2 elevators and a pool, well you haven’t arrived. Bourbon, gummies and belly laughs as we watched dolphins all the way till the sun rose. Immaculate.

Back to reality… Wife effed up toilet in new downstairs bathroom this morning. She swore she just took a pee. My aggressive plunging for a half hour dislodged the culprit and proved otherwise. Fixed. I feel very masculine.

Anthony Rizzo hit his first homer since the Battle of Waterloo.

Cape May in 2 weeks, Lexington the week following to move kid into frat house🙄.

My feelings exactly. Wasn’t one of my 100 favorite players nor one of the 10 guys I placed wagers on but my gawd when he was coming down 18, I leaked a fat tear and gave my wife a high five. From what I understand this guy has been golfing since he was a kid and likes golfing. Despite my fears, someone - a true golfer- won a golf tournament once more. Why we do this.

-Curious how you watch dolphins in the middle of the night… I mean sounds awesome just never heard of that and then just hanging out behind someone’s house. They usually disappear at night from my experience and we’ll it’s just nature because they prefer to hunt in the morning/daylight.

-At wilsons nursery picking out a decorative tree for the front yard after pulling out all those 1980s stupid evergreen bushes that no one should have at this point.

Not many places I enjoy more than a nursery. Just love plants and flowers I mean they are tattooed all over my right pec and arm.

My biggest problem at them is walking out with solely what I came for.

-Texted my friend that blew me up last night a very friendly text letting her know we’ve all done it before and no biggie. She’s yet to respond which means she’s being super lame or so embarrassed she can’t bring herself to do it.

One thing I hate about the added playoff teams is the delayed trade deadline action.

A decade ago a few teams would have already been making moves, and the buyers/sellers would be clear already.

Message me your address and I’ll send you one.
You got any them Dick Pole cards or that one super huge glove Mickey Hatcher outfielder card? I’d at least pay postage. Someone told me it was rare and I don’t believe em because I had two of em.

Where’d he find a glove that big anyway?

I'm not a European history guy, but wasn't Austria part of Germany during the time of Mozart? Or at least Austria and Germany were part of the same "empire?"

Austria probably was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire around then -- ?

My understanding is that kingdom was arranged upon old dynasty European wealth of the Haosburg family (?)

Germany didn't become a stand alone nation until something like 1872?

Prussia was part of Germany though -

Had No Idea that Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson was from tiny Augustana College

Mozart was born when Austria was part of the Holy Roman Empire which included both what is now Austria and Germany.

Love the freaking HRE pull and reference -

I almost made a Hanseatic League ref earlier and thought ....it was just too sexy for wide distribution ;);)

I just know that when Austria and Germany "collaborate" things tend to get out of hand.

They're just not a very good, second half team.

Finland however -- has a team and home field advantage (plus that ski-n-shoot skillset) that no one wants to play early in the big dance

Seriously though - i always felt the WW1 Germany got a bad rap -

They really just wanted to get into the
Same type/scale of business and political expansion that France & England benefited from

What a weird , avoidable and far reaching conflict that one was --

Underrated WW1 military unit?

*Shoutout to Brian Harmon, absolute clinic. Good to see a course set up where you kind of have to do it all well- not just a long drive/short iron contest. I've never ventured to that part of the UK, but as many top courses are right there- it seems like a must.

*As AWFUL as most american media are, the rest of the world is even worse. Yikes. Their constant narrative that bc Harmon enjoys the outdoors, that hes some kind of big game hunter who is constantly shaving tusks off of dead elephants was extremely cringe. Dude likes bow-hunting deer and fishing, like 80% of people from South Georgia- why they focused on that to try and vilify him was weird.

*This hit on 90's on 9 over the weekend, right before Elevators. Still knew every word.

*The Messi free kick winner was a pretty big *sports chills* moment.

*The Gilgo Beach serial killer stuff is wild. Now they are digging up his backyard with the assumption that there are multiple bodies back there. His family having no idea- which is always a bit alarming on its own.

*Instagram dog reels have just been crushing it right now. Tons of great content out there.

*RE: Dogs... I assumed when we had to put ours down that I would have another bird dog after the mourning period. But outside of the occasional missing bringing my own dog hunting, I've probably made the right call in holding off raising another puppy. Sounds good in theory- but the reality just doesnt seem like it would vibe with having an 18 mo old.
