Yea, the teams that make the playoffs usually beat the piss out of the really bad teams. The Reds have not done this the past 7-8 years. They get 50+ games against the pirates, brewers, and cubs every year. None of those teams are anything great yet the reds haven’t taken advantage.

And I like how you focus on the 95 game piece of that when 85 will get you into the playoffs or serious playoff contention.

* Vern's having a good day. The Cubs definitely have as good of a chance as any other team to win the NL Central at this point (other than the Reds who are never going to lose again) and with Reeves back, I'm liking my basketball team again.

* Seriously, how about those Reds? I really thought 100 losses was inevitable.

* Bring in a vet 4 and/or 5 and I'm ready to be fully on board. I know. I know. Modern basketball. Dinosaur. Chad just fell on the floor crying at the mere thought of there being 3 centers on the team even with Bradshaw injured. But I'm not yet convinced an injured Bradshaw and raw Ugonna Kingsley Onyenso-Alexander are the answer in the post.

* Flying in to Savannah on Friday for around 24 hours, then heading up to HHI for a week. Much needed. I've booked 2 fishing trips and plan to spend the rest of the time eating, drinking and lounging in the pool.

* Dinner at Eddie Merlot's tomorrow night for my in-law's 60th anniversary.

* I like drinking bourbon no matter what time of year it is. Sorry. Enjoyed some Weller Full Proof on Saturday and went with a few Buffalo Trace/Ale 8 cocktails on F Day.

* I grilled out for 26 people on Saturday at my Dad's and hosted/grilled out for 18 of Marge's clan on Sunday.

Don't need to see any hot dogs, brats or burgers for a while.

* My nephew is in Greece and posted some pics from a boat today. Gorgeous. Add it to the places I'd love to go to some day.

* Started watching Wednesday with my girls. Hasn't been terrible so far. We are about 5 episodes in.

* I like the kicker we just signed, but I really wanted 73's kid to be the one to kick us in to the SEC championship game here in a few years. Jeremy deserves it.

* Happy Hump Day, Gyero. Get after it.

Maybe at the trade deadline, the Mariners will be sellers and trade back Castillo to the Reds.

Got my car back from correction/ceramic/PPF detail. Yummy. Next to my car was a 1-of-1 Acura NSX with full carbon body, assembled in Utah and shipped to NJ for detail. Car has to be worth $2M. Crazy stuff.

Wifey and little man down to KY on Friday leaves me bachellin this weekend. Many drinks and gummies.

Getting my lil boy a set of Calloway’s for his bday. Leggo.

I know I’m on the record already by saying I’d take scoot over wemby but I’d also take Cason Wallace over Miller. Wouldn’t touch Miller.

I’ve changed my tune on Wemb, but the other 2 are as safe as it gets for nba prospects IMO.

Players that I think should be drafted based on talent and probably a lot closer to those top 3 than they are projected:

Noah Clowney
Nick Smith
Amari Bailey
Ben Sheppard
Kobe Brown

Some of these teams with multiple picks possibly adding these guy later to go with their top tier talent will help their teams alot.

Pretty excited for what should be a really active draft.

^thats why I refuse to trust him as the FUTURE. Future Dr. James Andrews’ patient is more likely imo.

-At night my snack these days is blueberries, trying to not eat half a jar of PB every night. But I guarantee if I didn’t stop myself I could eat the full pound blueberry container no problem.

-Starting to tear up tile in my bathroom
Today and planning to tear out the shower and tile/glass door it. Gonna take a week or so since I’ve only done something close once before. Timing blows but it’ll look awesome.

-Did some cupping on my shoulder at PT yesterday and it always feels so good, finally ordered my own set for the house. Hitting those legs with them after leg day is money.

-Think my starter is going out, prob attempt that myself too. Ugh

-Imma stop trashing the team since reeves came back. I’ll give them a shot before I go back to self-loathing UK bball.

-Got a ticket to Tom Segura at Comedy Off Broadway with some buds. Probably have to fly back for it but I’d highly advise anyone that enjoys standup to do the same, he’s fantastic.

-AC off windows open last night and I slept like a gd dog on a road trip, very satisfying but for some reason was pouring out sweat. Probably the TRT, idk.

Heading to St. Louis today for the U.S. Youth Soccer Midwest Regional Championships - our “reward” for my kid winning state. Playing teams from Wisconsin, Missouri and Illinois. Should be fun and hopefully we’re competitive. But maybe not so competitive that we have to do this again in Orlando in July.
Just make sure you’re done by Saturday, the start of “dead period”- the magical time of year where school teams are all like take a break and club sports are all like lol nope

Just got my "exclusive" (I kid) PGA offer for tix to Valhalla.
$286 a pop. Seems a little steep without bottle service.
Per day that’s ridiculous, if it’s for the weekend that’s a deal, $100 a day to see the best players in the world play at one of the state’s premier, if not the premier course for a weekend.

I mean that’s 2 hours of a good lower level seat at UK basketball game prices.

The only sporting event I’m dropping that kind of coin on right now is a chance to see the 2024 NL Champs, and currently the hottest team in baseball Cincinnati Reds.

Or, of course, the next Slap Fight Championship, which unfortunately takes place at an undisclosed location. I’d take assistbyredass with me, too. He’s a big fan.

Soccer is becoming as much of a racket as travel baseball.

ECNL Nationals for 8-9 days on the West coast to get down to 4 teams that will play on the East coast a week later. By the 6th or 7th day parents are praying their kids team loses, if they haven’t already.

Can you imagine getting a job with TSA?

How much would you have to hate yourself? The dude that stands there and barks orders at people and/or shouts out todays protocol (you do NOT need to remove shoes/you do need to remove laptops/etc) absolutely has to be the biggest ******* of all time.

At least school crossing guards get to stand outside and chit chat with kids in a stress free environment.

I’ve always wondered how long it takes people who work in an airport to get into the airport for the start of their shift.

Shift starts at noon but gotta get there by 11 to get in on time.

Your Reds won't be able to make it by your division rival Chicago Cubs led by NL MVP and Cy Young award winner Shoei Ohtani.

I truly hope your miserable franchise drops $4-500 million on a 30 year old Shohei Ohtani. I can’t wait to see him dragging down your franchise for the majority of that contract.

I went through security about 15 years ago and there was this nice-looking, well-dressed, well-kept 50-year old man who was working TSA. He looked like he should be a business exec instead of a TSA agent. He looked at my laptop and said to the TSA guy next to him, "I remember when those things came out. I thought it was going to be a fad so I never learned how to use one". It was a warning to me to stay on top of technology going forward.

- I miss the old baseball board. The last page and a half here has brought some of that nostalgia back.

- LSU vs Wake tonight is going to be electric. If Wake brings out Lowder or LSU brings out Skenes as they should to win no matter what it’s as close to can’t miss as a college game can be.

- Marcus Smart brought to Memphis to mentor Ja. We’ll see.

- 263 today. Breaking that 264/265 barrier has been work even if it’s just 1 pound. Finally!

- Can we please get to summer now and get past spring?
