05 just went to Minnesota’s camp and had coaches all over him. Made it to finals of FG and KO. St. Thomas and Wyoming at the top of the list. And he’s visiting St. Thomas right now with their coaches. St. Thomas is one of the top FCS schools and has a **** ton of money. And the Minnesota coaches were great - they are locked up with a transfer kid right now and ‘25 commit but they were amazing contacts and really liked him.

Not good enough for Kentucky to even give him a sniff though…sad.
I think the cards need a kicker. Would dad allow that?

Life man, just got diagnosed with Lyme disease from a tick bite on Sunday. Fortunately, if you get it early it’s just antibiotics for a week and you’re good.
Had a buddy almost lose his life because his doctors downplayed and misdiagnosed the seriousness of Lyme he got from a tick.

Can be some serious trouble with it.

'05 is going to absolutely crush it at St Thomas.

- Bolongo Bay
- Margaritaville
- Wet Willie's
- The Daquiri Shack
- Tiki Tommy's

Every weekend spent parasailing, wet t-shirt contests, slamming margs and Red Stripes. Need to go ahead and line up a road trip. Count me in, '73.
Road trip to St Thomas VI… makes sense

Yeah when I got it several years ago one of the new doctors on gyero laughed and argued that ky didn't have any cases of Lyme disease. He has to eat his words obviously, but regardless a lot of the medical community was slow to react to it. The good news is that it's just a round of antibiotics if caught early.
Like someone else mentioned, the one that scares me is this new Alpha Gal. Makes you completely allergic to meat. You might as well go ahead and kill me.

Rogue my Dr did tell me that after being diagnosed with Lyme, it's harmful to post on the Internet for about a year. Good luck on the break.

Alpha Gal is weird.

Its not an every time allergic reaction. You could eat meat 360 days straight and then get anaphylaxis on the 361st day. Now you might get a little irritable bowels on other days.

I currently have it. I had one reaction in 2020, 2 in 2021 & 2022. Formally diagnosed in 2023.

Never had to hit the Epipen just Benadryl and suffer for 30 minutes.

Yeah she seemed pretty good with it because it was just around 48 hours later. Fortunately I knew what I was seeing with the bullseye starting to develop and didn’t “wait and see if it gets better” like lots of dudes do.

It’s when you ignore it or don’t know about it that can cause joint pain/swelling, fatigue, muscle pain, paralysis, etc.

In honor of the trip to Austin in 2024....

1:47 I am in line surrounded by Nebraska fans. They are taunting me. I am taunting back, still certain that we are going to kick the s*(& out of Nebraska. I decide to challenge a particularly vocal Nebraska fan to play what I now call and will forever be remembered as "Cell-Phone Flop Out." Remember flop out for a dollar? The rules are similar. I tell this Nebraska jackass that if he's so confident in his team, he should "flop out" his cell phone RIGHT NOW and make plane reservations to Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl. And then I spoke these memorable words: "And not those damn refundable tickets, either! You request those non-refundable, non-transferrable sons-of-bitches!" He backs down. He is unworthy. I call Southwest Airlines and buy two tickets to Phoenix, non-refundable and non-transferrable. Price: $712. He is humbled. He lowers his head in shame. I raise my cell phone in triumph to the cheers of hundreds of Texas fans. I am KING and these are my subjects. I distribute the 11 beers in my pants to the cheering masses. I RULE the pre-game kingdom.

Wife to be has alpha gal from a bite 5 yrs ago. Zero dark mammal products for 3 yrs. Pen and all if even touched it. It’s lessened a lot in last yr. Moderation is huge so we use white meat a lot. She can eat red meat once every week or two and totally fine. Minor rash if anything these days

Damn shame someone hasn’t come up with a spray to keep ticks off of you. Would be even better if they called it Deet or Permethrin and it kept other bugs off of you too.

Seriously though, the warmer winters are the culprit as the ticks are thriving because they’re not being killed off with extended exposure to freezing temperatures. If you’re in nature as much as I am you have several cans of the above repellent handy and use it religiously.

-In my defense, I had just come from the gym in my short shorts and saw my mom walking my dog in her neighborhood (I was staying the night there), so I stopped parked the car and took the rest of the walk with them. She wanted to show me a new trail in the woods and boom I get Lyme disease…

-Damn, chicks man. This gal I’ve been randomly waxing, today texts me, “So I’ve been thinking, what if I move to Florida with you…”

🤣 ummm I’ve told you this is nothing more than hooking up. Like not even out for drinks and food. Plus, you have kids and ****.

“To be honest my exes (that’s right exes with kids) and I are making arrangements that will make it possible”

Not happening I’m sorry. I like to live in Florida to chase young tourists and act 25-30 as long as I can.

“We could make it work.”

Listen, you’re a convenient 6 with 4 kids from 2-3? different guys and you still live in Hardin County. I’m not taking a 6 with 4 kids to Florida with me, that’s LITERALLY the opposite of why I like living there.

“Okay, my heart is my heart”

🤮 I mean, yeah I’m a Dick but an honest one. Why in the touch would she even think I’d(or anyone) consider that as an option? Jesus H.

I have a buddy that was a dog trainer and got a host of things from a tick bite 6 years ago. He got Powassan virus which caused encephalitis and meningitis. Also babesia and Lyme. It’s insane what it’s all done to him. He’s doing better but it’s been a long journey.

The Reds beat the f’ing Royals who are the worst team in baseball. Get over yourselves.
I'm a misanthropic, jaded, cynical old bast@rd, but try and take some joy from life when it comes along.

Given what Reds fans have endured, can't you just be happy for them?

I'm enjoying the hell out of this team. We're Kentucky basketball fans, every glimmer of hope and enjoyment from our other sporting interests should be cherished right now.

Ha! I’m a Braves fan first (Cincy might be second), but I enjoy giving PTI some **** now and then so that’s where that comment came from.

I have a good friend who has it and just recently did the ear acupuncture treatment and is back to eating red meat after about a five year hiatus. Sounds ridiculous but for him it worked.

This reminded me of the old MSPaint threads on ShaggyBevo. I thought the guy had left the craft turns out I just had to unfollow him because he went deep into rage politics on Twitter.
