He’s a 30 year old 6’ 7” monster. Is it so far fetched to believe that he could naturally hit more home runs in a free-agent season than some of the guys who have had similar numbers?

*Judge has had a fantastic year. One of the best overall seasons I can remember. As a baseball, it's been pretty exciting to watch. Now, he can go 0-fer October and it wouldn't bother me a bit.

*I believe I'm taking it easy this weekend. Still struggling from Oxford. Probably just chill at a friend's house for the game.

*UK needs to come out and put an ***-whipping on USCjr this weekend. Put the fighting Beamers back in their place.

Lance never failed a drug test. (but then it came out a decade later that he did fail one and the TDF covered it up.)

Musings from the Steel City…

* Yinzers have lived up to most stereotypes - blue collar, substance over flash, plain Jane women.
Well laid out downtown with their sports complex being the designed by what i can no assume was a SIM City master.

Hole-in-the-wall bars on every corner with tons of character that look more appealing than any of the glitzy spots in DC.

Hitting up PNC Park their last game of the year for no other reason than check that fabled Yard off the list. $25 for field level seats. Marcus.

* Seasons are great and all but that first time you have to throw socks on with dress shoes and forgo the loafs is a low-key junk punch.

* Lets just say Judge, like most high performance athletes, have their levels dialed up and down precisely by Docs Sox steps ahead of Johnny PissCup. Still impressive.

* The further we get from the Ole Miss game, the more bitter that loss becomes. That’s the “one that got away” we will be seething about more and more as the season goes on.

* Having said that, USC is going to get ragdolled. The team needs it to dispel the Oxford hangover. Coaching staff, especially OC needs a monster showing and most importantly we fans need it to wash that crap taste out of our mouth.

If you listen to any of the popular baseball podcasts- the baseball drug testing is suspect at best. You've really got to make a mistake to get caught. Theyve talked about Pujols "enhancement use" being the worst-kept secret in the game this year.

In the morning when its a little chilly outside- i like to ride with the windows cracked a bit and the heat on low. Just one of the things I enjoy.

Nice to see Bookernoe Jr on an athletic visit down here at Alabama- I will be recruiting that young man and his mother pretty hard to get him on board here.

I don't care about the basketball schedule. Just care about going into Knoxville in a few weeks and getting a win.

* I don't care how random the sport/competition, anything that's played at the highest level and shown on tv in a well producer format is worth a watch. ESPN used to air the world championship (I'm forgetting the name/sponsor) of bass fishing, and those guys would drive their boats into an arena, triumphantly hold up a huge fish, and the crowd would erupt in raucous applause. It was fun viewing in short spurts.

* I know Jack Squat about fishing, but down here they work “rodeo” into the name of tournaments.

* PEDs are rampant in all sports. Tennis, golf, NASCAR, etc. Unfortunately it's just part of the game -- so trying to parse thru which athletes are clean and deserving from those that are cheaters is an exercise in futility. My only issue with the guys who are absolutely, completely obvious roid heads is when they just refuse to admit what they've done. For many years, baseball didn't even have penalties for using PEDs. So just fess up and move on. Clemens, Bonds, McGwire, Sosa........if they would just be honest, it would make the sport much better.

* I believe that we will beat South Carolina.

* According to the headline on KSR right now, there is an "updated Bracketology." Lol.

Joe Lunardi suuuuuucks. Can't believe a guy has become famous for doing so little.

* Waiting on estimates/quotes for painting the house. Oh boy.

* Is it worth the time/effort to go see Mike & The Moonpies next week? Playing just a few blocks from my house at a small local junt.

* In today's episode of "why didn't I think of that", anyone listen to/watch Mr Ballen? He's got a top podcast, and 7 million subscribers on YouTube. And all he does is sit in front of a mostly blank screen and tell stories that you've probably seen on Dateline/48 Hours before. That's it.



* Looks like we're heading into World War 3 involving heavy use of nuclear weapons. I just. Can't. Believe. It.

I mean, we didn't even allow Russians (and Belarusians) to participate in Wimbledon or the Boston Marathon. How was that NOT enough??!

* Last game of the season for the Cincinnati Reds, and sitting on 99 losses. Win one for the Gipper, if you will. Cannot wait for next season. Lodolo, Greene, Encarnacion-Strand, Siani, de la Cruz, Marte......this organization is f'ing stacked.

* "Kentucky basketball tickets. They're going to be the most precious things in life." lol. Not anymore.

- I’ll give most of the Judge credit to 1st year Yankee hitting coach and KY boy Dillon Lawson. Kid played at Transy and took quite the ride to his current position.

Lawson could have really helped Judge in his first full year in 2017....52/114/.284

Didn’t he suffer some sort of head injury and completely lose his ****? Calling in bomb threats etc. Or maybe he is just spiraling with the substances? He was huge a few years ago and looked to be the next big comedy star. Then he fell off the map because of the crazy behavior.

Attell actually brought up Lexington's own Comedy Off Broadway on the JRE and gave it some nice reviews.

TJ Miller had a Netflix special a while back, and it's the worst stand-up I've ever seen in my life. Incredibly disappointing, and I don't even know what he was trying to accomplish. Just horrible.

Transphobic email allegations[edit]​

On December 19, 2017, it was reported that Miller had sent a transphobic email to film critic Danielle Solzman, a trans woman. Solzman had previously tweeted a screenshot of the email in August with Miller's name redacted, out of fear he would take legal action against her. The email, prompted by Solzman inquiring about a transphobic slur in Miller's website description, included Miller referring to Solzman as a "weird strange terrible man" and a "******* *******" and saying that her "pursuit of transgender identity is nothing more than an opportunity for you to distinguish yourself as someone who is special", as well as repeatedly deadnaming Solzman, by referring to her using a name that Solzman used prior to socially transitioning.[50][51][52]

Solzman said she had met and befriended Miller in the Chicago improv scene, that he had been supportive of her newly coming out as someone who identifies as a trans woman, and that she (Solzman) was unsure why Miller had become hostile.[52][53] Solzman also told HuffPost she had attempted to interest various publications in the story the previous September and had received several anonymous text messages on Miller's behalf threatening her with blacklisting and legal action.[52] In response to the story, a representative for Miller said that his client was "admittedly going through some things" but denied that he was transphobic and insisted that this was "about a specific issue he has with this person".[52]

Would probably hit that Doug Stanhope show before Miller. Miller is awful without show writers and a great supporting cast around him.

Solzman managed to make TJ Miller look like the sane one, which is saying something.

Mike Judge apparently despises TJ. The utter scorn heaped on the Erlich Bachmann character after they wrote him off Silicon Valley was hilariously malicious.

Solzman's instagram handle is now apparently @daniellesatm, which I refuse to believe is accidental.

That's why you text me asking me which HBO shows to watch next, fake-*** poser. I'm rewatching SV now with the lady. Jared is the show stealer.

And Netflix has good shows, just not nearly as many as HBO. Mindhunter is/was a fantastic show. I hope they bring it back.

^ This. I do think that Gilfoyle and Dinesh should be considered one character, though.

Jared's "DO YOU WANT TO DIE TODAY MOTHERF***ER?!?!" line out of the blue, however, might have been the best unexpected laugh in the whole series.

Mike Judge is so much better than other comedy show producers that it is amazing. He's like Lebron, Jordan, Bird, Magic, and Russell had a little comedy baby.
