-Yesterday, out of the blue, George says to me, “mom remember how Will Levis ate a whole banana last year? It’s supposed to be really good for you!“ Yes, son, I do remember that.
- In a few years he's going to discover Alyssa Lang's take on the whole banana and well, good luck!

- For you newly minted parents, get your kids swim lessons early. Doesn't have to be competitive, though it is one of the best workouts one can do and for your whole life. Do it because like learning a language, the muscle memory with taking strokes and breathing is easier when you're a kid. Once comfortable with it you're pretty much set.

- Woodstock '99 - every act besides 2-3 was out of the industry within the next five years. No better summation of how awful music had become by the end of the 20th century. Sadly, rock music and the idea of bands has essentially been dead since, minus a flare here or there.

- Had the Ole Miss game circled as the yearly away trip but that drive just looks like a *****. Rerouting funds for the December 3rd tilt in Atlanta.

- I could paint a 10-2 or 7-5 picture. Between the returning roster and experience/stability of the staff, I want to believe this is the year we avoid the ish the bed game like @ MSU last year. Come out of the gate screaming with a 10-0 lead, start smelling the vapors and end up leaving like puds. Gun to head -> 9-3, Peach bowl.

- Summerball, but after an annual lake trip this weekend I'm good to put the floaties and sunscreen to bed.

- Ran into @IsRichieGonnaStart over the weekend at a local church picnic. Man was in his element slamming Rocky Mountain sodas and holding court, slapping backs with anyone in a 100ft. radius. Could tell he was gearing up for a big fall in Lexington.

- Late to the 'Stranger Things' game. Soundtrack and nostalgia -> A+. They don't miss in that department. Sci-fi angle -> meh.

- Enjoyed 'The Terminal List' more overall. Next two books in the series are even better.

- Hit up Louisville's Ruby's Friday night and hands down the Lexington spot >>>. Ambiance of a full band on the weekends for starters but many of the crews food staples weren't the same. Like cranking it with your opposite hand, just doesn't hit the spot.

Sage advice. Surprisingly, a lot of parents never think about it. It served me well. (Plus the chick at Spindletop that taught a pre-school Clown how to swim was complete smoke) She made me feel "funny" and I wasn't even old enough to understand it, but I knew it was good. LOL

Speaking of new country, just ran past a suggested reel on the ******** new Instagram and it suggested a song from Thomas Rhett called “Bass Pro Hat.” Have no idea what that song is but I know it’s cliche neocountry horsepussy and guarantee it’s awful.

How Rhett Akins begot that dbag is beyond me.

I bit the bullet and pulled it up on Apple Music. You somehow managed to actually understate the suckitude.

-Booker, regarding your supposed joke about swimming, KSR said today that two of the players didn’t know how to swim so someone from the swim team gave them lessons so that they can enjoy their time in the Bahamas. The whole discussion was how @MattJonesKSR doesn’t know how to swim either and he said the only way he would take lessons is one on one like that. Maybe @Bonzo Cat or @UKswimmer875 could offer their services.
I’d happily work with him if he agreed not to argue with me the whole time. Fat chance.

Biggest struggle i see for most adults who can’t swim is with putting their head down. Lift your head up, your body sinks. Put it down and your body floats. Get comfortable with that so you can avoid panicking and you’ll be fine.

Had a buddy in Lex who was almost 50 and couldn’t swim. He refused to get in my 4-5ft deep swimming pool. One time he asked me, “what happens if I go under?” I said, “stand up!” Absolutely blew me away how a grown adult can get like that.

Where we moved from there wasn’t enough water to put large quantities of it in a concrete bowl for recreation. Therefore I’m the only person in my family that can swim - and I look like I’m drowning when I swim.

Adults who can't swim are such an enigma to me considering it takes so little effort to stay above water.
It's not the act of staying afloat that confounds them, it's the fact that they don't know how to react if they swallow even the slightest bit of water or head goes under and the fear factor takes over. They panic and that's when bad stuff unfolds.

Matt can ride a jet ski built of hundred dollar bills around Lake Head. That huge space he has in some of yours is weird. He’s up there just stretched out sipping on a Pepsi with floaties .

I can’t imagine not being able to swim. What else do some adults not know, the alphabet?

Good lord my just turned 6YO is diving in and getting torpedos off the bottom of 8 foot deep end.

- On a side note just had a “builder” text me he is ready for 4 framing packs this week. When asked what plans he is building he realizehe hasn’t given them to me and doesn’t even have quotes. He also uses trusses for the roof which will take 6-7 weeks.

I’m pretty sure once approved I can be that unorganized in life and build houses for profit pretty easily.

-Like Bonz said, basic swimming isn't really an option. Water is dangerous af and being confident you can manage is a necessity. We were just talking yesterday, about sucking it up for a few years, and putting little man on the swim team so he has that foundation. Took lessons for a few years with UK Masters and Susan, then about a year of private. I still suck at lap swimming, and open water for time, but fairly confident I can make it to safety if I was in a bad situation.

-Tried my first audio book. Not bad, but I think it's going to take a specific genre, and good voice. Audible giving you 1 book per month is weak. I knocked that out in like 3 days.

-Appears we're getting an early fall. So cool it with your winter aspirations. I can get down with a good long drawn out fall.

-Speaking of going to the beach, is WCC wearing cutoff sweat pants in the Bahamas?

-That ain't my Truck. What a damn good song.

-Afari seems to be getting TONS of love. Hell he ran off a former 4* with tons of snaps. Lot of focus on the O, rightfully so, but I'm a Stoops ball guy. I want a nasty Def.

-Wish I was in the Bahamas. Damn.

-I need to go fishing.

Been swimming 40+yrs, but when I jumped into the Columbia River for the first time and it was just above 60 degree water temperature I thought I was a goner. Every muscle in my body froze/cramped up, definitely hit a level of panic that was serious. Barely could hold onto the dock just to get my bearings and regroup.

Wade in to get acclimated is the smart play. I failed first time.

I did the same thing when I first moved to Colorado. Went for a run on a hot summer day and finished up on a really nice pedestrian bridge about 10' high over the Cache La Poudre in Fort Collins. The water looked so inviting and I couldn't resist. Jumped off the bridge to cool down. I hit that water and for a few seconds I thought it was over. Never had encountered a snowmelt river prior to that. Just like justa said, every muscle seized up.

They didn't have lakes or rivers in Mehistan?

Audible is a horrible deal for audiobooks. Not sure why anyone subscribes for one book a month.

During the pandemic I started listening to audiobooks through the library system via the Libby/Overdrive app. I live in Florida but I believe most public libraries across the country participate. You may have to wait a few weeks for the most popular books, but it is awesome.

Thanks, I think I got a free trial so I'll cancel. That is a terrible deal.
