-Hank, had a buddy talking about those self defense/ tactical courses you have taken. What's the contact info so I can pass it along?
Here you go. Tactical Rifleman is the absolute best. Karl, the dude who runs it, is a former Green Beret sergeant major. The original job description for green berets was to parachute into Soviet f***ing Russia and train guerilla armies to fight the commie swine. If you ever get the opportunity to have a green beret teach you literally anything, you should take the opportunity. They are the Shagari Safari of teachers, unlike jabroni Louisville "educators" such as Vern and Dr. Chris Kolb.

The other one is at the Louisville Armory and is run by an enormous Israeli who looks like King Leonidas. He's awesome, too, if you aren't into the whole pinko BDS movement or whatever.

I've got Karl's email / cell if your buddy is looking for something private. Just send me a DM if you need it.

* Anyone know where I can get sunglasses repaired? August?

I've got a pair of American Optical aviators that I worship but the joints have gotten loose and they slip off. The prices on those things have more than tripled since when I bought them and I can't find exactly what I want new.

In this economy, even a GYEROMAN has to be a little thrifty.

* Adult adoption is legal is Kentucky. Dibs on Oscar. Even White Wayne Dougan would be utterly thrilled if his daughter brought Oscar home for Thanksgiving. Dude is too good to be true.

I hope he makes more than the entire GDP of the Bahamas this week.

* I'm usually a light sleeper but for the last week or so, I've been averaging 9+ hours of coma-like sleep per night. It has taken me by surprise and I hope I don't have BIG GAY AIDS or whatever but badadababababa I'm loving it!

- Somehow I had completely forgotten all about that Timmons TD against South Carolina.

- Those were the most electric moments in Kroger Field history. But the least-electric game, at least when it comes to wins, had to be that 3-0 victory over Indiana back in '96. I was living out west at the time, but friends who went said it was the most mind-numbingly boring game they'd ever seen.

- Last "first day of school" for the oldest tomorrow. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried just a bit over my emotional state about it.

- Bahamas goals...win all the games, avoid all the injuries. That's it. Kick a little tush and get back on the bus.

- Who buys all these New Era MLB cap variations? They seemingly put out a new series each week.

- After my dad moved into assisted living, but before we sold his house, I got his mail every day. Absolutely amazed at how many solicitation letters he got from various charities. At least 2-3 a day, and I know he hadn't contributed to all of them. Pretty infuriating to think that these groups probably just get mailing lists of older adults who they think they can prey on.

2007 was the best college football season ever.

That Thursday downpour in Columbia when Gillespie walked into the UK section then spent 10 minutes Im pretty sure drunk looking for his seat was not so much fun. Was an epic Beavis performance though.

Became SAEs favorite city somehow though

Chuck Hayes does absolutely nothing for me. I’m glad he was a nice player and all who did all of the little things well but for someone whose 4 year average at Kentucky was 9 & 6 he sure gets a ton of love despite being mediocre. If he took one of those teams to the Final Four I would’ve liked him more. Maybe that’s unfair but it’s the reality.

I’m going to probably be sorry for saying this but I have over 4,000 pairs of sunglasses. Every brand you can think of and some you’ve never heard of before. All confiscated and in various conditions from new to scratched up. Yep, people buy the scratched up ones just for the frames and put replacement lenses in them because they like the type and put in replacement lenses. Also have over a thousand pairs of designer eyeglasses but have no idea what the RX is on any of them. Just sell them for the frames.

Oscar could average 40 & 20 and lead us to an undefeated season with #9 at the end and he’s not overtaking Mash for me. No way.

Sorry not sorry.
^ false.

Sunglasses…

I’m searching for a replacement too as my blue frame, blue lens Persols we’re smashed when I was removing my carryon in the overhead last trip to KY. I don’t need anymore wraps, so the following list is based on either aviators or wayfarer-type frames. I like these lineups…

Persol
Moscot
Revo
Method7

I still scour eBay for vintage Suncloud SCRs but they are very tough to find decent ones.

For me having all time favorite players has an age limit. Any player that I’m like 10 years older than is going to have to really impress me.

The last players that had a shot at becoming an all time favorite would probably be Wall and Cousins.

I love that SMART UK FAN (such as Richie) consistently recognizes Darius Miller, Sparks, and Patterson as favorite players of the last 20 years. Those dudes' stats didn't amount to anything more than solid love from fans for a job well done but they were each integral cogs that represented Big Blue with class and were bad MFers on the court in ways that are not obvious to casual fans.

Oscar can do it, but it'll take a real effort to move those out of my top 3. 1 and 2 may be unattainable because of nostalgia.

4-15 for me are pretty hard to rank.

MKG, DA, Walker(both), Turner, Wall, Cousins, Knight, Lamb, Miller, Ulis, Fox, SGA in some order and still missing a few.

All the AD love and rightly so but Lamb, Jones, and Miller were the backbone.

Not going to list my fav players. It’s been covered pretty well already.

I’m just ready to see the Cats play some ball and maybe we can start removing that **** stain taste out of our mouths from that disgrace on March 17th.

That’s my favorite.

- Went with Boats bourbon group to pick an Old Fo barrel today. As expected it was an excellent experience.

Oddly after passing on several offers to join groups on some picks, that was my first experience.

- First day of school, lol, and every kid is trying to take a nap.

From the WAYBACK MACHINE, people forgot that when Pitino first went to Louisville it was terrifying. That was back when Pitino had his fastball and the BBN 100% wanted him over Tubby... and Tubby flat whipped that whop *** with what was (probably) in retrospect slightly less or equivalent talent.

F*** that philandering scumbag. Tubby rose to the occasion.

(There remains zero chance that Sparks was missing any of those free throws.)

I stopped having “favorite players” about the same time I stopped having a favorite color - when I was about 15.

I will, however, always have a special place in my heart for Chuck Hayes. Not for basketball, but back in 2004 we were getting ready to go to spring break and our buddies GF Jenny (RIP) was going to meet us down in Florida. The night before we left we went out to Two Keys (RIP) and Chuck Hayes, Jenny’s ex BF saw my buddy. He came charging at him like a psycho, had to have 6 guys hold him back to give my buddy enough time to get TF out of there. What a totally cool guy!

Starting five haircut power rankings:

1. Oscar
2. Toppin
3. Wheeler
4. Collins (looks like Cameron Diaz with **** in her hair in There's Something About Mary)
....
...
...
...
5. Reeves -- who looks like a meth-addled Harley Quinn wannabe chick with a lowgrade fever and lip sores.

Whatever Drake's spent on this was damn good advertising. Props.
