* I'm FB friends with Jamarrion Harkless' dad. Dude brought his big *** cane corso dog to the hotel on the official visit to Illinois.

Want my son to play at your school? You're going to have get a hotel room for my dog.
Respect.
* I like to listen to podcasts while I work. During the summer, especially when Matt Jones is on vacation, I'll occasionally go back and listen to podcasts from specific times (like February 2020; January 12, 2021; etc). It is amazing how we get hysterical about the topics of the day that immediately slip from the collective conscious and into the memory hole.
I mean, we all spent weeks of our lives listening to hot f***ing takes on horse dewormer for COVID, Jussie Smollett being a victim and then a fraud, Fauci and Rand Paul bitching at each other on CSPAN, Lori Lightfoot's yelp review, etc. Reminds me to never take the news too seriously unless it has a local impact.
I probably should just ignore national news all together but then I'd have to actually do something productive with my time. It's a lot easier to be hysterical about January 6 or teachers grooming kids or whatever.
* It has been said before but during the dog days of summer it bears repeating -- Kyle Tucker kills UK coverage on The Atlantic. He's an old-school newspaper reporter that found the perfect forum for his work (unlike Bill Simmons deciding to take his talents to podcasts). Dude may be a woke scold on twitter, but he's the best UK columnist we've had in a long time.
Who are the best UK basketball newspaper journalists of all time? I'm 41 and grew up in Central Kentucky. All I've known from my local newspaper is Jerry Tipton's stupid *** covering UK basketball with the sarcastic snark of a hormonal teenager. I'm kind of embarrassed that I can't recall a great UK basketball newspaper writer off the top of my head.
* If you got to choose to live the life of a UK player for a year of their career, Will Levis this year would be a solid choice. Dude seems to be getting every single bit of enjoyment possible out of being QB1 on an SEC contender and first round prospect.
I do worry a bit if Rodriquez doesn't return that Levis will be our best short yard runner and that cocky son of a ***** doesn't slide so I'll be petrified of an injury. If he goes down, we are screwed.
* My crunch time line-up:
Wallace
Fredrick
Reeves
Toppin (Still kind of wish we'd landed that South Dakota honk to have a shooter in the frontcourt)
Oscar
I'd love to see that lineup average 20 minutes together per game. We will probably see a lot of Wheeler, Wallace, Livingston, Collins, and Oscar though.
* Bret Kavanaugh needs to upgrade his house. Dude's living like he's a professor at Georgetown or something.
