One of the SRO officers at our school is retired navy and another retired state trooper detective.

Stop acting like there isn’t plenty of those types in every county in our state.

Some of you want it to be harder than it is.

single point of entry. Metal detectors. SRO.

How did this kid get into the school so easily?

"We're good kids, we didn't do anything wrong."

That's a crusher.

What people aren't talking about amid the call for new gun regulations, a sudden interest in mental health with (arguably) one of the worst health systems for tackling that issue and/or giving every clump of cells a gun is the fact that our media and social networks promote this type of behavior. The VA Tech shooter talked about wanting to set a "high score" and places like 4Chan (who the Buffalo shooter frequently references in his "manifesto") are cultivating grounds for this type of person.

Gov. Abbott had the name out and there were pictures of the shooter everywhere in 20 minutes. Why? Because we were able to quickly disseminate if this was white nationalism/trans mentally deranged or other and make conclusions about how we are going to react depending on the result.

I remember watching a documentary that stated the best way to curb this is to take away the platform. Scrub away their ******** ramblings they post online, do not identify them immediately, do not circulate their image or anything about them. They want that. They want to die by police officer and, before they go, inflict as much harm on the world as they perceive the world has inflicted on them. That's why they target schools. That's why you can buy a bulletproof back pack in America.

This is stupid, this is irrational and it will continue so long as hens on Facebook can post selfies of them crying while hugging their children while offering thoughts and prayers (I saw 4 yesterday, I kid you not). We crave that anonymous attention.

Senators (cough, Joe Manchin, cough) need to stop saying "common sense" gun reform makes sense without getting into the nitty gritty. I'm with Rudd, get specific and get others on board.

To the cops' defense, I think the shooter might have locked the metal door that is designed to keep shooters out. Since they responded quickly, they didn't have door breaching equipment like a swat team would and had to wait for the principal to get the key to enter the room. I think they shot out the windows and were trying to keep the shooters head down to pull kids out the window.

Who knows what actually happened at this point but that was the report I saw.

Look, man, my anxiety over this **** is already at 150% after dropping my son off at school for his last day, knowing the cycle isn't going to stop any time soon. You all had 2 days to figure it out on here, so move it to the dedicated thread, and keep discussing how to stop it. I'm in no mood to rehash it today.

-CRod is out. So that blows.

-Also wouldn't get your hopes up for enjoying an overpriced draft beer in CWS.

-Played the Caddyshack course Tuesday. So that was pretty neat. Didn't recognize much other than the Condos. Really nice place.

*Didn't play too bad after not picking up a club for 1.5 years. 105(58/47) playing by the actual rules.

-Cash Money vs No Limit has been preoccupying my time lately. I think I finally figure out the problem. No Limit at the time was the best, don't think that's debatable, but Cash Money has held up better and has a better overall catalog.

-I don't know how parents have multiple kids in year round multiple travel sports. We're at 4-5 days a week for non-travel coach pitch and I'm already eyeing the end of the season. I love coaching and all but damn free time is all chewed up. Feel like G is in the same mind set. Those folks have an extry gear I don't.

-Long time tech that passed last wish was to be transported to the cemetery in one of our vans. 🤣😥 They just don't make those type of people anymore.

-Last day of school. Those were literally the best.

-Sorry but I'm not getting worked up over BB recruiting any longer. Depending on a freshman, especially PG, is a fools game.

-Dec 31st 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry, doggies. I'll be much further south watching my gridiron Cats beat the **** out of a Big 10 team.

Speaking of old school rap...

Have my NC crew coming up today and we're hitting the Nelly concert at the MGM tonight.

Got my Air Force Ones ready.

feel like there is more to the CRod saga than just whats been made public so far...

The last day of school at DeSales every year was not much different than what it looked like in "Dazed and Confused" minus Ben Afleck beating the **** out of a kid with a paddle. Mostly anarchy and apathy followed by a weekend of south-end house parties. IIRC, parents cut it loose as much as we did.

I struck a goose with an approach shot last week- not sure if I got him on the fly or if it skipped once at him- but he knockered off for a bit. As we were putting out- around the corner he came- moving QUICK. May as well have been a bear the way I GTFO. Left the guys I was playing with to fend for themselves.

Was a nice win for UK after surrendering the lead so late. Back to back homers to win it- both were nuked. Maybe you can make a case for Mingione staying seeing how the SEC is just a grind (see Miss State)- but I still think he's underachieved with the talent he's had. I guess its how you finish though, and a little run here and an NCAA showing and all gets forgotten.

Lincoln Lawyer (TV version) was a nice watch on Netflix.

Also somehow ended up watching Blue Mountain State again. Easily the most ridiculous show. Denise Richards- she was never underrated- but somehow never got the shine she deserved.

That is a kick in the nuts there is not a back on this roster in his mold which a Stoops offense has to rely on.

C-Rod’s dad seems to be a little too involved. Lots of subtweeting during his kid’s mishap. Wonder if there was a butting of the heads there?

I'm steaming hot pissed right now.

But I'll say this, when C-Rod was fumbling every 10 touches and pouting on the sidelines. I just got a feeling that kid was going to take a mental health break, and I was 110% for it at the time...

We will be fine, but we won't be the same.

I was surprised he came back to begin with. Even though he (and usually other rb’s) wasn’t projected as a draft pick, they usually go to take their shot as RB’s only have so many carries in them.

Backs like Snell/Rodriguez are more a product of our system than anything. Tough, between the tackle backs that don't have elite speed & hands are a dime a dozen in the SEC. Its the one position we can actually afford attrition at. Javon Baker tho....

The Kiffin interview on SI was a solid review on the state of college sports. Can sense some resignation with him but you see why guys like Mitch are reluctant as the whole purpose of an AD is basically gone. I like the thought of a cap but I assume that is going to have to be run through the conference level and no clue how you get the SEC or Big 10 to agree on anything consistent. I'd assume just calling them what they are, employees, is going to have to be the route. That way you can control the flow of money better and make the game competitive with actual contracts and structure.

Speaking of, colleges and universities better figure **** out real fast in the next few years or that is going to get ugly. That whole free run of the last 30 years appears to be ending with athletic departments likely losing their free labor & donor bases and students starting to realize that $100k in student debt for an English degree isn't all its cracked up to be.
