Always felt like that 94 Nuggets vs SuperSonics was the best first round series.

Could add the Magic vs Pistons around 01 I think too.

The Indianapolis Olympians slipping by those doughty Sheboygan Red Skins in '50 is tops for me. I'd say that was some very fair basket hooping displayed by Jack Burmaster and the rest of those marvelous milk men. It was nearly enough to strike down the Olympians, but Alex Groza and his amazing bouncing pass was simply too much.

-headed to check a job at UK this afternoon...helluva wreck in front of the schems place, people drive way too fast on that road.
Yeah, I heard it from my dining room office and went out there before the car that was hit had come to a stop. A car was traveling from KET side and hit a car turning from Scoville onto Cooper.

Prayers to the people involved. The car that got hit was an older gentleman/neighbor and he got beat up pretty bad from what I’m told. The person driving the other car was very shook up (obviously) and will be ok but went to the hospital too with minor injuries.

I would love to see something done in addition to the speed limit/your speed sign. That doesn’t slow anyone down. (Neither does me screaming at every speeding car passing by, but I do my best to be old lady yelling at cars mom.) Henry Clay had speed bumps installed and it’s a pretty well traveled road too. I just don’t know if they’d do it here because of the ambulance traffic.

The accident initiated in the same spot Marco Shemwell was hit. ☹️

SLOW DOWN!

I love Joel Embiid. Dude just loves hooping. He went to Kansas... ****.

NBA players you liked that went to schools you hate?

-MJ
-Alan Houston
-Embiid
-Corey Maggette (weird one, I know)
-Ray Allen
-I hated J.J. Reddick, but I'm coming around
-Vince Carter
-Latrell Sprewell
-Jason "white chocolate" Williams

I also low-key hope that Zion doesn't just eat himself out of a career. So fun to watch. Jury is out on that dude.

Embiid is Godzilla

Just based solely off of skill…I don’t think there’s a big man in the history of the league with his skillset.

For the record, Oscar’s NIL isn’t worked out as of today. Because we offered 50k to livestream the announcement on our social media accounts. We couldn’t do it just yet due to the visa. Rather pay Oscar than the US government.

Look for it to be on ESPN for free.

Oscar's senior day will be one for the ages. There better not be a dry eye in the house that day. He's got a chance to be on the Mount Rushmore of UK basketball with Mashburn, Issell, Davis, and Delk/Walker.

It looks like this is the first time that NIL money seems to have made the difference between a guy with marginal pro prospects deciding to come back to UK because he'll make more money in college. Here's to many more. That could be UK's secret weapon. No one cares more than we do -- just not sure if we have the corporate resources to compete whenever other schools inevitably get in on the act of out bidding the G League. Props to bradyjames for his involvement.

* I'm not trusting @GlobalScouting_ to know whether Sharpe is eligible for the draft or not. But *IF* Sharpe is not eligible for this draft, that might be the only thing that provides a satisfactory explanation for the whole fiasco.

However it happens, *if* we get Oscar and Sharpe on next years squad to go along with Wheeler, Wallace, Frederick, Livingston, Toppin, Brooks, Collins, and Ware, then we are one good transfer guard away from our best roster since at least 2017 and more probably 2015.

I don't know why I do this to myself but there's a way next year could be awesome. I treat Calipari at this point like someone fresh out of rehab. I don't trust anything he says and I'm dubious but there is reason for optimism.

* On Saturday, Kroger Field will be doing its impression of Vern's mom -- large, plain, and sloshing full of drunk crackers.

* On KSR yesterday, they were discussing Wheeler and were fairly explicit that the staff is not sure if he's capable of leading a title team and that might cause him to leave. One, I at least love that the staff is putting out scuttlebutt about thinking they can compete for a championship next year. That's the best PR Calipari has done in ten years.

Two, I love Wheeler. He's limited but he's just a dude and when it gets to March, having a tough, battle-tested veteran PG is a huge asset. Wheeler does so many things so well and is so tough that I'm ok with putting the ball in his hands in March and April -- just need to surround him with shooters. And, for the love of God, have everyone drilled hard to call out screens so he doesn't get whiplash again.

It’s pretty simple, which is why it frustrates me so much…if Wheeler comes back to maximize his game he should rarely play with Oscar and another nonshooter.

Those Twitter videos that (Givoney?) shared of TyTy and others just driving into a wall of waiting defenders is my fear. Marcus be Sharpe or whatever transfer we dig out of the portal.

I would love for Toppin to become a reliable threat, it would certainly change the dynamic of this team maybe more than anything beyond Sharpe returning.

-I don't think the Sharpe deal is really that complicated. Keep your NCAA eligibility while making sure your approved for NBA Draft and top 10-15. If not, hell of a safety net.

-Wheeler. I'm completely torn. I want the guy on the team, 100% no doubt, but he does spaz when it's crunch time and his shot hurt us last year.

-Cal's tendency to play size/defense over playmakers has driven me batshit for 10 years.

-The Wright deal is still weird. "Spend more time with my family." Ok, Urban.

-I'm completely out of the loop on everything. Current affairs, sports, entertainment, and local news after nixing Twitter... and I don't mind it a bit. Actually pretty relaxing. I'll have to add it back in when seasons fire up but for now leaving it off.

-Returning NPOY. Pretty wild stuff and close to what the fan base needed. Now, let's win some damn games in March.

-Weather just gradually getting a little better. Last night was gorgeous. Took little man up to hit some balls at the park. Had to wash that one down with a few cocktails.

-Derby Festivities start this weekend. LFG.

I think Toppin could be a decent outside shooter if his friggin coach would encourage/bless his shooting of them. Livingston has a decent shot, too.

I’ve been curious from the start how we was eligible. Thoughts from your lawyerin perspective?
Like many things in LAW I think the NBA can safely decide on whatever is in their best interest and then come up with reasons why that is what they decided.

If they want guys earlier they can set the precedent that if you had enough credits to graduate, then that is your graduation date. A bit dangerous of a precedent to set, since people will certainly try and manipulate that and front load credit hours in high school to try and be done quick enough to be eligible when they otherwise would not.

If they decide it must be the actual graduation date, then that would follow along more with the intent or spirit of the rule, and would snuff out future abuse of the system.

So whatever the NBA wants to happen, now and in the future, is what they’ll decide. Then they’ll work back from that to outline the reasons for their decision.

- NIL is pretty awesome. Great for college basketball. Not sure about the portal being “good” for the sport but whatever.

- Wheeler is a great starter but when the game slows down in crunchtime, the ball should be in Wallace’s hands. Or Sharpe’s. Wheeler isn’t a halfcourt player.
Given that NIL is now a thing and these are more contractual relationships, I think players and coaches should be able to negotiate variable-year contracts. For example, if you're a top 10 guy and you are getting recruited by everybody, you can negotiate a single year deal. But if you're in that 30th to 40th ranking and you really want to go to say, UK, we may offer up only a 2-year deal where you can't leave for another school - take it or leave it. Want a one-year deal? Go to Purdue.
