Is it? I would argue when you have the superior talent advantage you should be forcing your tempo on the other team:

Prior National Champs and PPG in tourney
2021 Baylor: (82.9 PPG full season)
79, 76, 62, 81, 78, 86 (77 PPG)

2019 Virginia: (71.4 PPG full season)
71, 62, 53, 80, 63, 85 (Effing Virginia averaged 69 ppg during their title run)

2018 Villanova: (86.6 PPG full season)
87, 81, 90, 71, 95, 79 (83.83 PPG)

2017 UNC: (84.4 PPG full season)
103, 72, 92, 75, 77, 71 (81.67 PPG)

2016 Villanova: (78 PPG full season)
86, 87, 92, 64, 95, 77 (83.5 PPG)

2015 Duke: (79.3 PPG full season)
85, 68, 63, 66, 81, 68 (71.83 PPG)

Meanwhile Kentucky on average in NCAA
2010 - Right at their full season PPG
2011 - 10 ppg less in tourney then full season 74-64
2012 - 4 PPG NCAA above full season PPG (No surprise they won the title)
2014 - 6 PPG NCAA below full season PPG (Close compared to prior champs)
2015 - 5 PPG NCAA below full season PPG (Once again, close, but with that talent, unacceptable)
2016 - 3 PPG NCAA below full season PPG (But only 2 games)
2017 - 9 PPG NCAA below full season PPG
2018 - Right at their full season PPG
2019 - 7 PPG NCAA below full season PPG
2022 - Right on it, but only one game and OT versus a 15 seed

I'm not making any "takes" just throwing out numbers. The only year the team was scoring more PPG in tourney then regular season was the year they won it all. So the "playing their best ball in March" statement doesn't necessarily ring true. And once again, you could argue they've had more pure talent on the roster then their opponents most of the losses.

When you cut down possessions AND don't shoot a lot of 3's, you are ripe for an upset in March.
This. Is. Awesome.

That’s Cal’s #1 problem. If he would stfu, or go sit in the stands, our ballers would run and gun, kill teams in transition. Instead, they get the ball, look at Cal screaming, and then weave their lil hearts out.

I think Allen has plenty of faults but it’s unbelievable to me in today’s game with such value on spacing and shooting, he couldn’t get 8-10 min a game.
I know people were pulling for Allen to be the cat's meow, but dude was 18.9% from 3FG (5th on the team in 3FGAs) this season and couldn't guard a Gatorade cooler.

I mean, we can blame Cal for destroying his psyche. But he was a lost cause this season.

Edit: My favorite stat is Allen threw up 1 3FGA per 3min played.... 😆

*Matt Winn's is awesome. Bone-in Ribeye is up there with Ruby's. The décor and music takes you back to what seemed to be a simpler time. Highly recommend.

*Trying to quit thinking of UK basketball. Extremely disheartening I feel that way in March...again.

*Found a $96 voucher hidden in my wallet today from the casino Saturday night. I guess I talked myself into hiding some cash from myself.

Allen seems like he'd be great for OVC level teams or in the case of Murray State, MVC level. He would do well there depending on who they hire.

Obviously putting a dart through a cats neck is terrible but has anybody looked into the cats background? Did he have any known enemies did he owe anyone money. Was he a regular at the billiards hall

I drove past the old $.69 burger and shakes place Monday and noticed the sign was down presumably bc of price increases. I thought to myself “that’s the type of stupid **** LEX18 would make
A news story about to get clicks and angry emojis” THE NEXT DAY lex18 has a news story up about it. That place is the most predictable website on the planet. LEX18 QUESTION OF THE DAY: do you think gay people should get extra time off work for COVID-19?

baseball szn returns full time this weekend. I’ll be sure to post lots of pics on my social media. This our first year not playing in the local league. We’re full in on travel. A lot sooner than I ever planned but here we are. Both boys teams are “ranked” in the top 10 in the state in all the polls (yes, these exist in youth baseball) so we have high hopes. We’ll see! Either way, I’m excited to just be a dad and watch my boys do what they do best. And occasionally get irate and act like a jackass in front of mostly strangers.

Baseball, getting bounced early from the ncaat, and trees are blooming. Fellas,

As long as that burger conveyor belt machine is in there, I'd pay up to a few bucks for one.

Watching those suckers do their greasy slide down the ramp was always dope. My aunt/uncle live over near Eastland, and we'd go there every time I visited -- there was a bullet hole in the window for a few years,

Xavier seems like an ideal landing spot for Allen. I bet Payne would be glad to get him too.
Complaints from Xavier fans are they don't play physical enough for the Big East. He won't help. I'm not sure he can be physical, play D or ball handle at that level. Murray or Northern...We'll find out if him looking lost was on Cal or him. Rooting for him.

I think he'll carve out a nice sniper or legit contributing role with the right fit & the UK pressure out of the picture, but he most certainly will NOT be a Juzang.

Definitely rooting for the kid, and won't be livid with his success like I was with Johnny - That **** still infuriates me.

Cal never wanted to recruit him...hell, I don't think he wants to recruit any Kentucky kid because our hilljack basketball bennie fanbase loves them and he has to get asked about them postgame occasionally. Can't be bothered for 9 mil.

Cal made comments about that kid postgame all year last year (especially after he singlehandedly produced the only cool moment of the year after spaz was kicked out of the game) and this season he would never dare to one of his precious 5 star recruits. Did you ever hear him talk about Kahlil Whitney (who was terrible at literally everything) the way he talked about Dontaie Allen?

So why was he not willing to take Kahlil Whitney or B.J. Boston's heart but so ready to toss Dontie Allen to the wolves and make him go from willing sniper to hesitant headcase? A, because he absolutely hates that you love Dontaie and, B, the handlers of BJ and Kahlil - even if those guys don't make it - have the next guy waiting in the wing that might get him a seat in the green room and we can't piss them off.

It's whatever...Dontaie was just a microcosm of an overall frustration I have with our coach. I felt for him because, at no fault of his own, he became a conduit of Cal's attitude towards BBN.
