I'm sure UVA fans were destroyed losing to UMBC, but Tony Bennett wasn't exposed like this. This is absolutely more embarrassing than losing to a 16 seed. St. Peter's didn't even play well. And there's zero hope of a rehab like UVA had the following year.

Buddy of mine just called and gave me play by play of last 3:20. We have ball, 20 seconds on shot clock, up 6, and had a 90.4% chance of winning.

Cal’s offense has always been some mishmash bastardization of the Dribble Drive and the NBA Power Game from the 90’s. He always defaults to “ throw it in the post” or”DRIVE!!!!” to draw fouls. He has an open and mocking disdain for modern basketball and the three point shot.
Denny Crum never won **** after 86 because he never adjusted to the three point line. Cal’s the same ******** way on offense.
I think it was Aristotle or maybe Green Day that said the wisest men among us are the ones that know they don’t know nothing. Calipari thinks he knows everything and micromanages the **** out of everyone…you know except the ends of games where he keeps his timeouts shoved up his ***.

Dude had a hell of a (luck weighted) run from 2010 to 2015. The only reason 2017 gets a pass is because those were some bad dudes that didn't listen to Cal and just balled. I've said it 10 times elsewhere but all you need to know about Cal on offensive philosophy is that he berated Monk in the post game UNC regular season thriller for not driving more. Kid was on fire from 3 and that's what Cal opened with. This was 5 years ago. He's done.

Lost my ever-loving **** when Cal refused to call a TO on the last possession of regulation leading to a hapless, contested shot by TyTy. A lot of profane words, fist pounded into a solid oak coffee table, the remote controller flying through the air, and my dog jumping over the couch to run upstairs to hide. I proceeded to sit on the front porch in the light snow to "cool down." My Apple Watch tells me my heart rate spiked to 90 bps....
In my solitude, I ultimately concluded that UK basketball is a reoccurring source of frustration, anger, and contempt. The common denominator is John Calipari over-promising and under-delivering. And each year, the let-down seems worse and worse because of the desparation for our Wildcats to "get over the hump."
The 2015 loss broke my heart, but I had a confidence we would bounce back. I wrote off the 2016 loss to an all-time Higgins hatchet job. The losses to Kansas St. and Auburn in 2017-2018 were inexcusable. Antipathy grew when Auburn, Alabama, and Tennessee started regularly punking us in SEC play. And last season's debacle marked an all-time low.
If you're keeping score at home, that hits every stage of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, anger...
And what do I have to show for it? Sure, I had a great time watching the Cats smash UNC in Vegas. And it's a joy to tell KU fans to suck-it after an epic beatdown in the Phog. But how many dinner date nights with my wife have I foregone because UK had a "big" game on Saturday evening? How many days have I lied to colleagues about being "busy" so I could sneak out of the office early to catch a 5pm (MT) tip?
No more. Done. Last night was the last straw, and I won't let Cal draw me back in.
