A friend’s kid’s high school in Tennessee got eliminated from the state high school basketball tournament for a Phoenix Suns-esque move. Go to 1:23:01 on the video.

Up 12 with a few minutes left in a Regional semifinal, a couple players got into a minor fight. One kid was pushed to the ground pretty hard during a loose ball. Then some pushing and shoving by a couple guys on the floor.

Both benches clear - but none of the players really get involved. They just casually walk towards the fight and turnaround. Refs T up all but 3 players total by both teams, ends the game, and say both teams are out of the state tournament. Furthermore, they ban all but 3 of the players for the first two games for next year. Lol… and we think SEC refs are bad.

Would love to know exactly what Barnhart was or was not doing that prompted this from Cal.
Pure speculation...never seemed like Mitch wanted to hire Cal to me but that powers that be within the basketball program (Pratt, etc.) were basically like "you hired Billy Gillespie, take a seat and let us go get the guy we wanted all along". Cal knew it and probably still holds a grudge because that's who he is.

I don’t think this is true. I believe Mitch knew he had to get it right after Billy G fiasco so he was all in on Cal. They vetted him and nothing came up so he hired up. If Mitch didn’t want him (which would have been stupid), I don’t think Dr Todd would have forced him to.

Edit: to my knowledge there wasn’t anyone else even considered for the job. May be wrong on this but I don’t recall another name leaking out.

That introductory press conference for Cal was cringey though when Mitch was speaking and it was basically an apology for hiring Cal. I don't think Cal ever got over that and I can't say I blame him. In Barnhart's defense, he does seem to be 100% Team Cal now.

What? Billy Donovan was twice Mitchs man.

I always thought the awkwardness of that presser had something to do with Mitch knowing something was coming down the pike with Memphis and the NCAA.

I ask this question knowing that it fully exposes me to admitting to watching a women’s bball game but why the hell are the refs wearing masks during the game?

Genius is a bit hyperbolic. Only a handful of musicians can be described as such, but until his mom passed, he was putting out incredible albums. MBTDTF might be my favorite hip-hop album of all time.

I can't really get behind his insane antics as of late. The guy needs help.
Incredible? He had 1 that was incredible. But he was a beat hustling MFer and EVERYONE was using him and had him trapped in that box before Jay.

To be able to have the talent to seperate yourself from millions of other people and become world famous and a millionaire requires a certain level of genius, and that cannot be argued. Think of how many people play an instrument/mix records/are involved in music and think of how difficult it would be to become world famous at it. Its almost unfathomable.
