Am I the only Cat fan that gets absolutely belligerent at Tourney time?

Oh no, Cats may be a 3 seed?

FU, give us the play in game and make sure we play the overall #1 seed in the following round!

Through the Wire
Slow Jamz
Dark Fantasy
Runaway
All of the Lights

Run This Town

^ All likely make my Top 25 post-2000 hip hop songs.

Now, I’m just a typical square white 42 year old but how can anyone not appreciate those songs?

What about Otis? Ninjas in Paris? No Church in the Wild?

I’m prepared to be outraged if we get a one seed if it isn’t the RIGHT one seed.

To be able to have the talent to seperate yourself from millions of other people and become world famous and a millionaire requires a certain level of genius, and that cannot be argued. Think of how many people play an instrument/mix records/are involved in music and think of how difficult it would be to become world famous at it. Its almost unfathomable.
So everyone who has ever become famous for music is a genius?

Anyone who has created sound out of their *** that millions of other people listen to, pay for, have memories to, elicit sincere emotions to is a musical genius on some level, yes. I’ve heard people called genius because they got good grades in school or were fast at solving a math problem that millions of others have solved as well so maybe my bar for the word “genius” is lower than yours.

Since when is sampling and making beats a simple endeavor? Kanye owns thousands of records: everything from polka to gospel and blends all of those into incredibly catchy songs. He is also a pretty good lyricist. He's no Nas, but all things combined, he's phenomenal.

I don't critique country music because it's not my thing. Some of you should sit this out similarly. It's ok not to have a take on everything.

Agreed but MBDTF was not hit or miss, it could be argued it was his best. But it was also an early window into his mental stability

Kanye's catalog had a pretty impeccable run. And I'll always respect an artist who was always looking for new sounds and challenging himself to find new directions. He could've spent his whole career making those chipmunk soul beats, and I'll always love those first records, but man a lot of The College Dropout sounds pretty dated now, whereas something like 808s still sounds pretty fresh and Yeezus sounds like rap 10 years in the future or something. And you can't deny that 808s sound was hugely influential for guys like Drake and the more melody driven rappers that came after that.

Latter day Kanye still has some dope songs.

But yeah, I'll always love that old 'Ye:

And I'll still argue this is the best SNL performance ever. GD what a f'n shock to see this right after MBDTF:
