Ready for the tourney. Would like to see our perimeter D be a bit tougher but don’t wanna sacrifice offense and at this point, it is what it is.

We are healthy. We have a solid 7 man rotation that can all score. Hopefully will never need Ware/Collins more than just spot min.

- I almost want to tune in to Saturday's UL/UVA game for the crowd shots alone. How full will Yum be....50 percent? 35? Complete fan detachment, a terrible team that has clearly thrown in the towel, a dull opponent...They could literally just have a helicopter drop free tickets over Iroquois Park and they still wouldn't hit 80 percent capacity for that one. Woof.

- Cal says he's recruiting all day today. Gonna learn a lot about how he wants this '23 class to shake out. Ton of wings all with interest. One thing's for sure...if Kentucky is their "dream school", they won't come here.

- Obviously the three weeks from Selection Sunday through the confetti falling are the best three weeks of the year, but the next 10 days are pure hoops chaotic bliss....must-win games for bubble teams, unexpected runs to conference tourney titles, transfer portal entries by good players off bad teams, and the ramping up of the coaching carousel. Netflix is gonna have to wait until that depressing first Monday after the tournament starts.

- GO GET HIM

They could play the game AT Iroquois Park for free and it would only help evacuate that place.

Quick Notes:

- Really good seeing Wheeler return to form and TyTy headed there. Wheeler’s our engine and TyTy is our X-factor.

- Need to get Grady going but not worried about him at all.

- Tschibwe third best Wildcat of my lifetime?

- D was pathetic but believe we’ll figure it out.

- Brooks does a lot of good things but think Toppin is the better crunchtime option.

- Wheeler is $$$ from the line.

- Collins’ potential man oh man.

- Saturday maybe a war, but would love to see us late’m hang like we were pre-injury drama.

- Kansas is a paper tiger.

- Happy Lent - reflect, sacrifice and prepare for the glory of the resurrection.

So he's pumping up Collins because he thinks we need a rim protector now that our guards are getting picked on? That's fine, but he needs to play C and move Oscar to PF. Not with Oscar and Brooks/Toppin. Get back to 3 guards at all times.

Battered Wife Syndrome tells me he’ll do the exact opposite of that.

-It's absurd that the SEC still plays the championship on Sunday rather than Saturday.

-Man, Rupp sure has changed a lot since 2016. They've really done a nice job with it. Good feel. Very vibrant. I guess I am officially an old though as I missed the pep band and thought the incessant music and its volume were a bit much. Also, the banners have taken a backseat due to all of the visual enhancements of the place. They're almost an afterthought it seemed.

All in all, a solid A to the improvements, just some slight nostalgia for *old* Rupp and the traditional college environment. I get it, though.

-Parked at LV Harkness ($30) and just strolled across Main Street and up the escalators right into the arena. That was amazing.

-Two older women sat behind us and one was calling out defenses and matchups like she was Bruiser. It was impressive. Another older woman in a bedazzled Wildcat sweater sat in front of us and had the UGA/UT game on her phone which she was going back and forth with. The old man across the aisle was bad-whistle-in-the-Elite 8 richie level angry at most every call all game.

I love UK basketball fans. Was good to be with them again.

-Have to admit I've sobered up a bit about the team. Defensive regression and dead legs concern me greatly. That said, the team was visibly pretty disengaged most of the game I thought. I believe their intensity level will be where it needs to be starting Saturday.

-Daughter loved everything. 2 football games in the fall and now a March Rupp Arena game, she's officially Big Blue baptized. As we got in the car to drive home, she said she was bored and wanted something to do. I put on the postgame and she was sound asleep before we hit I-64 West out Broadway.

I remember those late night drives home from Lexington. There's just something soothing about the ambient sounds of the Wildcat Wrap Up while winding through the moonlit Bluegrass.

Welcome, little lady.

Just very overwhelmed by the music. It was almost a relief the few times they were given the window to play On, On, UofK.

Is what it is. Just an observation.

The fan cam is unreal btw. That's a lot of fun.

Grady could use a bit of a rest, imo. He's logged some big minutes and the games stack up quickly from here on out.

Mintz's dad looked sharp. I appreciate the effort to dress for the special occasion.

Hopkins really not playing since LSU- made more sense vs Arkansas but I thought we'd see him a bit last night. Odd DNP, unless he wasnt available and I missed it.

Got 5 hours of sleep last night- which is a minor victory. If i can get to 6 regularly, with 4 uninterrupted- i'll feel like new person. Little one is a month old today- time does seem to slip by fast.

I am pretty frustrated with MLB, on both sides of the house. What are we doing here, guys?

The Saudi Golf League led by Adam Scott and Harold Varner just wont have the same mass appeal.

I thought Grady making sure Cal knew to take Mintz out for his ovation was a pretty pure gesture. It's rare to have a team that it is likable, likes each other, and wins at this level. Give me all the tenured guys from the portal.

My dad has posted a picture of himself on the big video screen at every home game this year. He's essentially turned into a 9-year-old in a 67-year-old man's body.

It was causing me mass anxiety. Mintz kept looking back every dead ball with a desperate look on his face...he really wanted (and deserved) that moment.

Even with Grady's save, it was a still fortunate whistle under 10 seconds that allowed it to happen...he almost blew it.

Cal obviously isn't used to Senior night.

I hate Coach K for good reason but my two biggest grievances in order:

1. I put the college game’s biggest in-game flaw (flopping on charges) directly on his shoulders. Much in the same way Dean Smith took advantage of ****** rules with Four Corners to harm the game, he has done the same teaching his kids to flop. It’s good strategy I suppose because it’s become a primary defensive goal for many if not most coaches.

2. He’s the archetype of a Gracious Winner. No one is a better guy when he wins than K. Oh what class! Visiting opponents’ lockerrooms! How much mileage has he gotten off of joining Cawood? Meanwhile, when he loses, he’s a raging prick, condescending, scolding other teams’ players (Dillon Brooks). I wish Cawood would have told him to pound sand but he was a better man than me.
