I would guess that Wayne is referring to any reports about Putin losing his mind as propaganda. Especially if it is coming from the same people that said Trump was a Russian asset.

Quick read: Thoughts on the Issue

Pat Buchanan always gets a bad wrap because the left wing media has always hated Nixon, but he's been talking about this for 20 years. The old school guys who really understand geopolitics know that Ukraine has never served our interests (they have a smaller GDP than Kentucky does), so why in the F would we guarantee their protection (i.e., let them into NATO)?

Have you all ever heard of the Cuban Missile crisis? Or, more relevant for today, If China tried to make a pact with Mexico, Cuba, the Bahamas and Canada that moved weapons into those countries pointed at us, and if the US did anything against any of them it would guarantee they all attack us, we'd go all out to stop it (including attacking those countries).

Oh, and Dallas, yeah, I do think reports about Putin "losing his mind" are HOPEFULLY propaganda. Because if he truly is, you have a mad man with enough nukes to destroy Western civilization in a day. But hey, there are memes to be made about this so who cares if it leads to world destruction?

Again... over Ukraine... who had a pro-Russian government less than 6 years ago. My god.

The Cuban Missile Crisis started Wayne because we put missiles in Turkey first.

Hunter S Thompson didn’t like any of those ******** and that’s good enough for me.

My aunt (RIP) and uncle were missionaries in Russia for something like 13 years, starting in the Far East as soon as the Iron Curtain fell. Police ran them out of Komsomolsk when they figured out they were talking about Jesus while teaching English, and then they were forced out entirely when Putin futzed with the visa rules. In 2004. 12 years before he outlawed evangelicals in Russia. My uncle remains partnered with missions operating on the DL in Poland, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan because he hasn’t been able to get back in to meet with his Russian contacts.

this aggression wasn’t a surprise in the least to him. Or to his contacts in those cities. Vlad’s propaganda machine has been laying the way for him to become dictator since he rose to power. The KGB may have “disbanded” but it didn’t go anywhere.

**** the Kremlin. if NATO doesn’t operate to protect NATO what’s the point? Do I want war with Russia? Hell no. No one with a brain does. But why not let Ukraine in? They spit in Russia’s face in 2014 and they have more than shown they want all the smoke. Errybody vs the Kremlin—including a growing movement of native Russians. This isn’t just about protecting the people in Ukraine, this is about doing what is becoming increasingly necessary to make sure the Putin regime gets eliminated. Supporting Ukraine gives them time to run out the clock on the dismal supplies Russia sent with its armies (roughly 10 days worth from most reports). The Russian people don’t want war. The rest of the world muscling up on Vlad is a risky venture, of course, but ultimately one that I think has to happen.

anyway GBB

years ago in Nashville my buddy wearing a denim Tony Delk jersey got into it with a few razorbacks on 2nd ave. It ended with the guy up in his face running down Delk and my buddy looking him straight in the eye shouting TONY DELK GETS PU**Y. Still a rallying cry for our crew to this day.

90s throwback tilt on deck, less Wayne please.

LFG.

Pretzel: Do I want war with Russia? Hell no.
Also Pretzel: Let Ukraine into NATO

Putin just told you he will go to war with you if you let Ukraine into NATO. Do you think he's f'ing with you?

And @gattongrad09 - sorry the conversation is getting too sophisticated for you. We can continue to talk about denim jerseys if that makes you more comfortable.

Yep, when your 6 year old asks you everyday when can he go to school without masks it tends to eat at you. But hey, you do you, Chad. I've got a ton else to say about it but I've tried to keep it out of here.

It's heartbreaking and 100% ********. I'll continue to mention, don't like, ignore me.

The last few days we've had posts pining for takes from Pat Buchanan and a dumbass seriously wishing for a return to McCarthyism. Good f'n god some of you need to please drag yourselves to the dum dum political topic and lock the door behind you.

< I'm going to be thinking of how awesome our comebacks were the last past two games without our starting backcourt when things likely go south today. I just can't imagine we go on the road in that environment without one or probably both of our primarily ball handlers and pull out a win. I will say though -> this team has made me eat my words plenty this year. I think we're going to give them a hell of a fight either way.

I knew some rube would come out of the woodworks to diminish Buchanan's opinion without providing a solid argument against him. Buchanan has also been beating the drum against free trade with China for 30 years - calling out specifically what would happen - and now here we are.

-history has proven that Mccarthy was 100% correct. There were in fact a bunch of commies imbedded in govt/media. Because one is an *******/grandstander doesn't make one incorrect.

-watching this war play out in real time w/ social media users on the ground is weird.

Here you go

I'm sure there will be lots of thoughtful, meaningful discussions on that topic about Pat Buchanan, free trade, and everything else no one wants to hear about today.

We need good Mintz today.

This is my biggest concern.

Urban warfare is hard. Invading populated cities is almost impossible short of committing indiscriminate war crimes against civilians (e.g., the 3yr seige of Sarajevo leading to 5k civilian deaths) . Russia will seize on the fact that Ukraine is arming civilian to label them as enemy combatants, which was a necessary tactic from Ukraine but an extraordinary opportunity for Putin.

Putin was always a maniac, but is sounding like an unhinged lunatic lately. Their tactical struggles to invade Ukraine is embarrassing, and I can’t help but think he will start taking more extreme offensive moves to win at all costs. The human toll will be devastating.

This has all the markings of a war that will spiral out of control.
