There’s been some obsession in GYERO through the years- ‘73 with Tubby, me with Herro, BBdK with pizza, etc but I’ve never witnessed someone post on a topic every day for nearly two years like Anth and masking.

Way to go buddy. You’re making me and 73 look sane. Helluva accomplishment.

I’ve had some business dealings with Greenberg. Nice, pleasant fella who comes across as very humble. Smart man who attended Harvard Law and was CEO of 21c before that group sold out.

His office is right down the street from mine in Butchertown. Scary ****. The shooter should rot in prison, IMO. I can’t believe he’s getting bail.

Yep, when your 6 year old asks you everyday when can he go to school without masks it tends to eat at you. But hey, you do you, Chad. I've got a ton else to say about it but I've tried to keep it out of here.

It's heartbreaking and 100% ********. I'll continue to mention, don't like, ignore me.

I think it's insane that being released from jail can entirely be dependent upon how much cash you or your friends have. No way should this dude be out, but such is the judicial system (old SNL reference).

Keep this in gyero, but starting to suspect that America might actually be a pretty F'd up place to live, folks.
Much of the time when bail is set, it is theoretical because the person and his/her family don't have the resources to cover it. It is mighty unusual for a political organization to put up bond for someone accused of attempting a political killing.

Setting the bond at $100k (I assume it was full cash) is absurdly low, especially for a guy who recently went missing.

I get and agree with the outrageousness of BLM doing it here, but again, that's our system. It has served who it was intended to serve for a long time.

I get Anth's obsession...most political theatre doesn't hit the daily home life of you and your kids.

Oh well I’m sure you’d be cool with some minority coming in here bitching daily about the ******** that hits home to them too. Glad we have a baseline here. If it hits home, bring it to GYERO and post about it every day.

So come on in, lurkers. What’s hitting home?

- Orderd 3 of O'Rourke's books on Amazon. Should be here in time to park my *** on the beach and enjoy with a couple Rocky Mountain sodas this weekend.

- And from reading about the guys life, shame on me for not recognizing his brilliance earlier. I get a lot of H.L. Menken and George Carlin vibe out of what I've read recently.

- Speaking of having the flexibility of a bookshelf, got a sauna in route and I think it's the most excited I've been for a purchase since my first legal drink at Two Keys. About the only thing that helps alleviate hip-flexor pain these days is baking in an oven.

- Dipped my toe in the water with crypto. I get enough of the concept to be dangerous - unregulated, unaffected by antics that governments and businesses can pull to manipulate share prices. A little here or there as a side piece / diversification.

Looking back when we were in Vegas this summer and there were Crypto ATM's in every casina should have told me it wasn't a fad. And talking with several firms I work with they are starting to add small % to their clients portfolio. We'll see.

- As usual, I blame Canada.

- I don't think Anth or parents would keep bitching about masks if after two years and multiple publications like WaPo and the Times have even come out and said masks and lockdowns didn't make a difference, that their kids would be still required to wear them. Not to mention many first world countries in Europe never masked or dropped the charade a year ago and their youth aren't turning into Garbage Pail Kids.

- What's a Garbage Pail Kid card go for, Brady? Unzipped Jack command top dollar?

- Watching the nephew this weekend while the rents are out-of-town at a Cheer Competition (🥴). Get to spoil the little man with a trip to the theater, tons of junk food and getting my *** kicked at Madden and NBA 2k22. Should be a hoot!

Are anyone else's kids literally using the word "literally" in every other sentence? My teenager started doing this and it has filtered its way to her siblings.
My MIL uses it a lot (British influence?), and sometimes I clutch my chest, act shocked/horrified, as if it “literally” happened. “He was lit-trilly gutted.” - “OMG, someone cut his stomach open and his entrails spilled on the floor in front of his family when he missed P1 in qualifying at Moh-Nauck-Oh?!”

PS. I get away with it because I’m known to be a “cheeky bastard.”

I mean, I kind of understand the Herro obsession as well...mine is WCS, the most overrated "star" we've had here.

You are literally taking things too literally.

Presuming you can still purchase a waterbed? It seems like anyone who was cool in the 80’s had one. I recall them being really comfortable. Probably a pain in the *** from a maintenance standpoint. I may look into this further as I aimlessly wander the internet tonight.
Btood can get you a waterbed.

My 6 yo overheard discussion on the news the other night about the legislature banning mask mandates. He excitedly asked me if he didn't have to wear mask anymore. He almost cried when I told him he still did for now. He's also seeing a speech Dr because he's had a hard time learning proper enunciation of words where he can't see his teachers mouth or hear them clearly.

Making kids wear masks falls under one of two categories; malicious intent or malicious ignorance.

I have our copies of Sideout, Over the Top, and Kings of the Beach for NES if you want to introduce the young man to something mindblowing.

-school visits starting for youngest. Hitting Vandy/Belmont/UT(iknow) over spring break. She wants to be in a "city"...which rules out a lot of good schools, hopefully her parameters expand.

^my parents never did this for me...kinda ended up where I went by default.

-I'm in doing stuff I dig mode: staying busy...trying not to pay much attention to the ongoing collapse of western society, tbh. Whatevs.

Lass' folks (college professors) took her to a bunch of really fantastic schools with idyllic campuses summer before freshman year of HS. UNC, W&L, UVA, Vandy, etc. Told her if she liked them and wanted to one day go to school at one of them, she had to work her *** off in high school, but it was possible.

Well she did and ended up at Vandy, where people only get injured because they're weak. Good strategy IMO.

* How could I not know I was Jewish? Seems like something my parents or Priest should've mentioned at some point. My first confession would've been a lot more interesting. Making fun of a classmate for smelling bad was all I had.

* My girls won 3 straight 2-point nail biters to bring home the 4th-grade Greater Cincinnati Catholic Youth Sport's Postseason tourney over the weekend.

Finished up 14-3 with titles in both the preseason and post season tourneys.

* My girls' school has lifted most of the masking requirements. When there are cases in your classroom, you go back to masks for a short period.

My girls are fine with wearing the masks and have excelled despite them. But, it has to be rough on the younger kids. And there is no common sense sometimes. You had to wear masks to and from the bench, but during the game you could sweat, grab and breathe all over each other at will. That actually changed this season, the players, coaches and fans didn't have to wear masks at all in most gyms. But last year, the rules were stupid.

I understand Anth's and others frustration. I'm not sure what GYERO is supposed to do about it, maybe he just needs the likes to make him feel better? Or maybe he just needs to vent. Either way, I am here for him.

* ****, I need to run and get a new suit for a Father Daughter Dance.

* Have a good day, dickwads. You too, Sloot, Pretzel & Llama.

Does your 6YO even care? My kids don’t give a damn either way except it’s one more thing to not forget in the AM.

Because my 5th grader has seen me laugh at people who say things to me in public about not masking he has taken it upon himself to take the mask off occasionally and see how long it is before anyone says something.

He doesn’t care and isn’t bothered by the mask, he is just his fathers son and a complete ******** anytime he realizes I’ll probably give him a grin and reward after pretending to parent him.

UK is now the second favorite to win it all at +850
Caesar's had them at +750 even though it said +1500 on the sheet they printed out. Still bet it.
That would be a good "Three's Company" reboot.

You missed the point entirely. Lib ***** Jen Psaki says her kids are fine w/ masks too. It has been drilled in their heads for so long that masks are needed, that they are now scared to not wear them, or just go along w/ it not realizing the potential ramifications of doing so. The "security blanket" effect is sad and the "isn't bothered by it" is false.

This whole thing has been incredibly traumatic for the country, regardless of politics. We are never going to forget it and it has sucked for all of us. And because of that, I'm going to really endeavor to believe that most all of us sensible adults in this country did our best to get through it and keep our families healthy, educated, and moving forward in spite of the intense disagreements and downright mistrust at times.

Like a massive family spat, we're all going to have to just get over it as this horrible episode in our history wraps up. There's not another option. And I'm hoping that starts sooner rather than later.
