A potential war between NATO allies and Russia, looming interest rate hikes, historically high inflation and supply chains that look like Rube-Goldberg devices have me convinced we're in for the correction everyone has been guessing on for the past 8 years.

We've spent 13 years pumping our "economy" with borrowed money, keeping our interest rates low in spite of a "strong economy" and literally handed the average american 10k last year. The markets baked all that in to it's insane rise over the past two years.

Just wait until mortgage foreclosure moratoriums end and all of these young Americans that bought starter homes at the crazy inflated prices above $300k and 40% gross DTI start realizing how hard it is to manage. Then things get real spicy.

Any tips on best CD rates?

Not sure if serious but, if so, it depends on how much you have. Big banks are decent if you've got a large stash of cash. Outside of that? Online only banks that don't have brick and mortar overhead. Things like Ally or smaller online only Credit Unions come to mind.

Fraternity brothers of mine who is a big UL honk and one of their many fan bloggers is all
In on Pearl. I used to troll the **** out of him and he blocked me on twitter. He didn’t know it was me He also defriended all UK fans on Facebook once the stripper scandal went down.

The last time I saw him was April 2019 and he kept yelling “Super Six!” to me across the golf course.
I really want them to get their hopes up on hiring Pearl or PearL as they have started to refer to him.

How big is that category of young Americans. Not many qualifying for that loan, you think?

Inflation is great thing. Idiots buying stuff not realizing the vicious circle. A fool and his money, ATKOT. Make a killing now and then more when you buy it back in 6 months for pennies. What a great country.

Being a Bengals fan has long been the most self-loathing part of my sports life. I can barely hide my contempt.

I still remember the last Super Bowl vividly. Those were good times - good teams, good rivals, good QB, ivonic personalities, great line, good skill guys and a solid D. Of course, F’ing Montana.

But then you had the 90s - one of the more pathetic decades from a professional sports franchise in history. Just a truly disgusting run of poor draft pics, unlucky injuries, **** coaches and bad seasons.

Follow that up with the promise of the Palmer era - pretty much stomped out with an ACL injury on the first drive of his first playoff game. Guy was never the same for us.

Bring on the Dalton era - when you can’t trust your QB at all in a big game. Couldn’t even get your hopes up because you knew we’d wilt in the playoffs and we did. That Steelers playoff loss caused permanent damage to my fandom - the biggest in-game meltdown I’ve ever seen. I was done. I was so disgusted that I had a hard time even caring the last handful of years. I’d pay attention and watch some games but anytime I’d think about the Bengals I’d legit find myself shaking my head.

So, anyway it’s pretty remarkable how much confidence I have in Joe Burrow. He’s like scar ointment. The guy is just a winner. Ed Orgeron as your coach? Cool - we’ll rout Bama, Oklahoma and Clemson. Nine sacks? No problem. We’ll just bounce the 1-seed on the road.

I’m not sure we should be this far and it’s seems like lunacy that we can beat Mahomes (again) in Arrowhead but F me I think we have a shot all because of #9.

- I wasn't #WayOutInFront on Mark Adams, but I'm glad his team put up such a fight after my glowing mention of him in yesterday's GYERO. He just has dudes, man. And to be honest, if Terrance Shannon doesn't pull up from 30 feet instead of driving to the rim when he still had 3.5 seconds left, I think we're talking about a Tech sweep of the Jayhawks today.

- A little concerned about tonight's game, if only because Howland knows how to gum up the gears, and Rupp won't be any worry whatsoever for guys like Garrison Brooks, etc. who have been through a power-5 grind before. Still think they'll hit a scoring drought that will be too much to overcome, but I could easily see it being a four-point game at the final media TO before we pull away for an 8-9 point win.

- HAVING SAID THAT, a nice, swift 20+ margin of victory would probably be enough adrenaline to keep me awake for what promises to be an epic battle between #3 and #5 in front of a half-full Pauley Pavilion.

- I had completely forgotten that Donnie Tyndall was the head coach at Tennessee for a season. What a scoundrel.

Not following... if inflation continues you'll wish you bought now, right? Now, if you're saying we eventually have deflation, that's another story.

-Depressing to know that Kansas overtakes us this season in all time wins, and Saturday will most likely cut it to 1. I suspect we'll get it back some day, but yea, that plain sucks. Kind of tired of Kentucky Basketball just getting dunked on tbh.

-Last day of quarantine for the lass. The joy of my 40th bday last week vanished like the morning dew at summer sun's first light; slowly but surely. I mean both kids, 24 hours a day, every meal, every item of clothing, every bedtime, every snack, every nap, every fight, every complaint. Delivering every meal and every form of comfort & medicine to a closed bedroom door. Rollerblading Christ. I am in a dark place, folks.

It's really changed my perspective on the COVIDS, though. While she has been sick and it has really been hard on her, she is on the mend and will be fine fortunately. However, the implications of someone in your household having to remove themselves from everything for an extended period of time is just plain miserable, especially for a parent. I mean it *really* sucks, and IMO is worth some measure of preventiveness, even for the most ardent #donewithcovid person. F your health, I'd just recommend avoiding this ******** is all.

I realize many others have been through this. I'm just saying.

-Thankfully nobody around here is talking about Scott Drew. Not sure if he'd even be a viable candidate, but I'm good with him staying far away from Floyd Street.

When I realized I had COVID I told my wife I think I have COVID. She went that sucks, I’m sure me and the kids probably have it too (you’re most contagious before symptoms). We were all a little sick with my kiddos being the most mild. I dunno, that’s how it went for us. I know everyone is different, especially everyone’s risk tolerance. Mine is admittedly extremely high due to the nature of my work I guess. Glad to hear everyone is ok and hopefully you can get a belated 40th bash.

Im hoping TyTy and wheeler are good to go, I feel like we’ve been deprived of our full team for a big game save UT, and feel the team is hungry to win a big game at 100%

And I most definitely am proud of having that record. How can you call yourself the greatest tradition in college basketball and not have at least the most wins or most titles.
And yes we lost it for a time due to losing wins in probation but we should always have that record.

I actually am someone that has zero concerns if Pearl were to make the move to UofL. It would help refocus the intense hatred in Cal that motivated him up until Pitino got fired.

Pearl isn’t leaving the SEC for that shitshow. They’re broke. They’re a mess administratively. Their roster sucks. They’ve got probation coming.

Frankly, no one worth their salt wants that job right now. It’s a fine gig but they overestimate the prestige. Pitino only went there because of the UK connection. All things equal, it’s one of 30-40 decent college basketball jobs, a big step below the truly elite thrones.

And that’s when times are good.
