“Better Off Beatin Off” by Wheeler Walker Jr is up there, if ya consider that a breakup song. Also “**** You, *****”.

Nothing by Wheeler Walker is up there. The most poorly executed gimmick/schtick imaginable.

Wheeler Walker Jr is horrible and completely unfunny and unoriginal.
-only song I've heard is "drop em out"... My wife/my girls, our friend/her girls think it's hilarious(maybe the way dude think testicles are funny?). It's fine... can't imagine an entire catalog of such erudite/pithy humor.

WW Jr is a funny schtick to listen to once or twice and then you’re like alright I get it. You don’t ride around listening to it by yourself on a trip to the grocery.

First I’ve heard of this WWjr. After listening to a few of his songs it’s pretty clear that he is the new age David Allan Coe.

David Allen Coe is an absolutely brilliant songwriter with a huge catalog of great songs.

So no, he is NOT the new age DAC. He's like a less talented version of Rodney Carrington, which is certainly not a compliment.

-Louis CK's latest special has a GWH bit that is fantastic. I won't attempt to paraphrase and/or spoil it, but $10 and you can download it from his site. Recommended. Hysterical, as usual.

-BB King's "You Done Lost Your Good Thing Now" is right there at the top as well. And not so much a "dis" song, but Marvin Gaye's "Heard it Through the Grapevine" is arguably the best breakup song IMO.

-Friend's memorial this afternoon. Successful restauranteur here in town and really had something (3 locations). Then drugs. He had gone to prison for a litany of things in recent years. Was in a halfway house and working construction. Lapsed. Addiction sucks. Ruined his life. Funniest friend I ever had, both in his content and physically speaking. Not obese, but a bigger guy, and he'd use it when it made something funnier. Brilliant and gone too soon. We played football together at X, too. Mean *** Stenberg type of offensive guard. As sad as it will be today, the stories are going to be unbelievable. RIP, bud.

-The boy insisted on sledding face forward and by himself. He had a blast last night. The wheels were turning, man. Pretty awesome stuff.

-Drinking buddy neighbor is doing Dry January. I mean GTFO here, man. Nonsense.

-"The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" is a great winter movie. Random, but if you haven't seen "Palm Springs," that's a good one.

-Pretty outspoken anti-facial hair guy, but a week in on a beard. Letting it go for a few weeks primarily so I don't have to drag a razor across my face in the dead of winter.

-Good to throw out some scraps of bread and fruit, bird seed, etc. in the yard for wildlife if you remember to. Winter's tough for all of God's creatures.

-Camel hair SZN.

-Watched Tombstone for the 100th time last night. Still love it. So many lines in that movie.

-Dry January? Lol, gtfo with that ****. Are these people not able to regulate a little bit? Just clean it up M-Th, maybe go to the gym or hit the pavement, and don't be a weirdo. Last night was perfect drinking weather. Losers.

-I know we're focused on Rona, but when we lick our wounds from that, fentanyl is absolutely wrecking **** right now. Leading cause of death for 18-45. Big Pharm, man.

-Sledding is just one of those times as a kid. Especially around this area when it's maybe a few days per year. For the little guys the round disc sled is still the goat. Sleds are one of those things where the more complicated they are the worse.

Speaking of David Allen Coe, a few summers ago we had some guests sitting around outside at my parents’ lake place, drinking cold beverages and relaxing, when his classic song “n-word effer” started playing on the outdoor speakers. The guests, and my mother, were fairly surprised, and confused, by this development.

I sprinted inside to stop the stereo as fast as I could. I opened up my old man’s classic 5-CD changer, and the disc that was playing appeared to be a disc I had burned in college with “party mix” scribbled on it. This too made me question my past self and why at that point in my life I would have deemed this to be a “party” song.

In any event, this episode confirmed my inevitable cancellation and expulsion from polite society. Which is fine, really. But consider this rambling post to be a warning about listening to DAC, or old college party mix tapes/discs, under any circumstances.

Lurking break randoms:

- As someone born with pretty severe hearing loss in one ear especially (Coach Tony can vouch), was way in front of the subtitles/captions trend 2+ decades ago. Of course, that wasn’t originally by choice, but it definitely provides more context a lot of times.

- Hearing aids are a pain.

- BVI stay-on-the sailing yacht trip with three other couples in 42 days. Personal chef and captain, wake up every morning, pick up anchor, and point to where we want to go next on the map. 😎

- Weight dropping nicely and steadily to be on track by then for flops and trunks with reasonable thigh length. An air fryer is a weight loss cheat code.

- Nothing to say about either the bowl game or the recent basketball games that hasn’t already been said, so I’ll just say that catching up on 30+ pages of GYERO and seeing in-game redass knowing the end result is some of the best entertainment around.

As a huge advocate for strong, sensible COVID protocols, I'm a huge fan of the breaking news today that Vandy students will NOT be allowed to attend Tuesday night's game.

Bunch of gafs. lol

Friday afternoon Masters weekend. It's 68 and sunny outside. 2pm. You call it an early day from work and meet your buddies for some happy hour wings and tall drafts served up in a frosty mug. Sitting outside on the patio and taking in the festivities on television.

That first beer or two is a golden liquid orgasm, imho.

Little celebrated tailgate beer is that last one you finish and and slam in a recycling box while walking into Krogers Field beer. Just a nice cold burn and a sometimes noticeable buzz upgrade.
That beer is typically chugged on top of the other "for the walk over" beer you just chugged before it and is sloshing around your stomach.

- CSC, hearing aids suck bad. Went deaf in one ear about 6 yrs ago. Got the Cros System, stopped wearing last year. Just too annoying.

- Randomly saw DAC at Jim Porters back in '14. The Old Time Emporium was rocking, so were the cougars. Loved that place.

- Where TF is doc?

- BIL funeral stuff was rough. 44 yrs old, too damn young. First time i've been back to the hometown in 26 yrs. But ole justa reconnected with the old first love HS flame, we picked up like we never missed a beat. Just like a damn lifetime movie. Huber giddy......

Sounds like a Hallmark movie script.
