Hoping that Denali has some issues on the trip down I-65 this summer tbh. The AC going out in Birmingham during an afternoon construction delay would be ideal.
Gulf Shores - picture thousands of UKO's tooling around. The glint of dated, gold neck chains everywhere. Oakley sunglasses perched above the forehead, scoping out the C-section scars on all of the hopelessly hanging on women, way past their prime. Chain restaurants as far as the eye can see, etc.
my brother has spent several summers there and seems to prefer fishing there than any other beach spot he frequents -
i believe he said the lodging prices were all better than what you’d fondle in florida etc
ive NOT been there but i know “Dreamland BBQ” is big in AL and is quite good — i’d try to locate one during your visit!

Just got home from a near death experience (the dog, not me). Took him to the park with my lass. Gorgeous day out, and let him off leash to play in the snow.......and then of course he takes off like a bat out of hell chasing after a flock of geese....then another flock....then another flock...
...I run after him and see he's chased them until he's run out on a partially frozen pond and fallen into the water. I get there in time to see him clawing his way back onto the solid ice. Luckily we all survived, but I did get a very stern "THERE'S A LEASH LAW FOR A REASON, SIR" from one of the park employees that happened to be riding by in a golf cart.
Ugh.

Well it’s true, leash laws were put in place to keep dogs from running out on partially frozen ponds.
