Welp, ho hum.

Hoped to be up by 30 at the under 8 TO.

Lights dim and a Mercedes comes rolling to mid court.

Rolling stop and Sharpe gets out, walks toward bench only to stop and give the 'hold up' sign.

Walks back to passenger door, opens door and Orlando Smith gets out.

Oh well....

I dunno, Missouri is a pretty physical team, and we're in control. I'm fairly happy so far.
We scored 44 points the first 17 minutes. And 5 points since, at the time I posted that in the second half. This team’s fate will be determined by effort. Will we give UNC effort, or ND effort?

The first shot of the half was Brooks with a fall away 19 footer. That is what a 10% chance going in. That is a big no.

Oscar needs some NPOY talk. He's unbelievable. Off night and gets 13/20. Lol.
Consensus first team AA, but not NPOY — just not enough offense. He’s like a linebacker winning the Heisman. I love him like a third nut, but media peeps love offense more.

This UT/Bama game illustrates how awful SEC Refs are and also why I hate the way UT plays.

- Team Toppin, but Cal has been recognizing who is playing better between Toppin/Brooks and riding it out. Love it. Both are important pieces.

- Wheeler with 9-1 A/TO. That'll do.

- Love the makeup of this team. Not live by the three, die by the three...but also aren't big dominant. We didn't have a great three night nor a great performance by Oscar on offense...still beat the 20 point spread.

- Having a dude like Mintz off the bench is a huge luxury. Reminds me of D. Hawkins. Even when his shot isn't falling, he stays aggressive and makes guys beat him.

- Having a team that can make free throws consistently is dope. We're going to win some close ones on the line.

- Washington is perfect for this team. Doesn't try to do too much...feels like it's taken a lot of our PGs/combo freshman until February to figure that out. But when the team is in a scoring drought, seems to always come up with a floater, mid range jumper, or drive to break the streak.

- I like my team.

Indeed. Neither are complete players but both bring a lot to the table. If Brooks isn't throwing up bonehead long 2s and he's rebounding, he's an asset.

* Love seeing Allen get in the game. I hope that means he's staying.

* Book of Boba Fett was great. I liked that it was just solid story-telling and not any OMG fanboy spoiler crap. Who knew that the guy from Swingers 25 years ago would turn out to be the best thing to happen to Star Wars since Empire Strikes Back.

* No Sharpe?

* It is amazing (and sad) what UK being good in basketball and football does for my optimism. Laissez les bon temps rouler.

Chemistry is too good to bring Sharpe in right now. It'd be a disadvantage for him as well without playing/practicing with this team.

If we looked like ****, f*ck it bring him in. But we don't.

Right now it doesn't necessarily help either party.

And I'm a HUGE Sharpe fan.

MAYBE give some spot mins after a few weeks of practice...but think we should keep him on ice for a bit.

Agree. And from everything I've read he HAS to be back next year.

He going take Mintz's minutes this year? He was our leading scorer last year and is content coming off the bench and doing exactly what we need. Play tough D and a bucket or two. Pretty rare.

As phenomenal as Sharpe is, takes freshman a long time to catch up to the pace of D1...especially defense. Him looking lost and out of place only hurts his stock.

Don't want to f*ck with a good thing.

Friday Eve AM Randoms:

Had an email from LinkedIn this morning that some dork had sent me a friend request on there. Not sure I've logged in to LinkedIn since before the pandemic.

This bball team has a very high ceiling. Each game is showing team play improvement right now and that makes something happen to my special purpose.

Had 15 different workers on my jobsite yesterday. As Jerry Reed once said, we got a long way to go and a short time to get there.

Bryant has been on the spot with HVAC, electric, and plumbing. If any of you non-technical folks need mechanical work done at your home, they can get it done.

Jealous of you people going to the bowl game. I get my Florida fix in a few weeks.

Had a stomach bug the day after Christmas that was brutal. I'm still not fully recovered from that evil.

Another note on Frank and Dinos... I expect they will get the shoddy service worked out. Tough for them to do right now in the current food industry environment. Food is good enough to warrant a visit.

A new frozen custard place will be opening up on Broadway soon. I don't get it with frozen custard places.

I know Tubby is a contentious subject for some of you, but I love the guy and am glad his name is finally going in the rafters.

Have a great day everyone, unless you are a unc fan.
