Per Mags, Olivier Sarr and Scotty Hopson got picked up by the Thunder on 10 day contracts. Good for Sarr.

Pretty shocking to see Hopson still on the fringe of the league, tbh. He always seemed like a total knucklehead in high school and college so I'm glad to see him get the chance for some success.

So the Mizzou game is still a go, right?

Counterpoint, warm weather means golf, played 36 Sunday, bike riding, walk/run, chop wood, or much any other physical activity. Don't have to go to gym, stay indoors to do that stuff. Staying indoors is for eating, drinking and movies.
You go riding bikes/run/chop wood when it’s 50-60 degrees, raining and blowing 20-30mph? Sounds fun!

Crazy story:
My (step since 5th grade, they’re my brothers) brothers Ja. and Jo. are real rednecks (I’m a “city/Etown” redneck) and you don’t mess with them or family that’s for sure. Well their mom who I love to death was dating this guy for a few years, “nicest guy ever” and all that. Well the other day the whole family is sitting hanging out in the living room and his daughter 10 whispers to my SIL that the guy/boyfriend had tried to touch her the day before and pushed him away because “it was weird”. SIL texts Ja. the girls dad, who’s sitting in the couch next to her, he immediately gets up goes to the bedroom and comes back with a pistol (Ja. is the youngest and biggest of the brothers you do not mess with this kid) shoves it down the guys throat in front of everyone and says “this is where you die mfer. Tell me what you did, NOW!”

Guys eyes are watering and he’s begging for his life. Ja. 100% would have shot him dead and honestly I’m surprised he didn’t, he wouldn’t go to jail in Allen county for it anyway, but Ja.’s daughter says don’t shoot him daddy we’ll never see you again if you go to jail. He lays the guy on the ground and sits on him in I’m sure a very uncomfortable manner with the gun to the back of his head and tells them to call the police.

Call the police and they come over. Sheriff gets there and knows my bros, everyone in Allen county went to high school together and they know everyone, he says when I heard it was the S*******n boys I asked if the lieutenant of the perp was still alive and if they needed a coroner or ambulance 😂. Like I said he knows my bros.

Guy is hailed off to jail. 3 other young girls come out and say he molested them too. So he’s been doing it for a long time. He’ll be in prison the rest of his life, POS. He’s lucky he’s alive.

Sheriff asked Ja. if he wanted him in a really “uncomfortable” cell (basically I’ll put him in a cell with 7 other guys that will beat the **** out of him every day). Ja. says, “do whatever you want but if he ever gets out again and I see him you’ll need that coroner.”

Was not expecting that at the Christmas Supper get together. But yeah f**k that guy.

* Not to one-up the incomparable roguemocha, but I barely missed this murderous rampage yesterday by just minutes:

I did a 20-mile workout around Cheesman Park, which is 14 1.4 mile loops. Somehow on my very last lap, which I walked, a dude got shot and killed at the very spot where I started/finished, and also parked just steps away. Cop cars everywhere, fire trucks, yellow police tape, bullet holes in the front door of the condo. And it took place completely over a 20-minute span when I was walking around that park and I missed the entire thing. Thankfully.

* "The pandemic of the unvaccinated."

lol false

* Bryan the Intern is an absolute f'ing gem. He did a reoccurring piece on "Where Are They Now?," but this time using Tubby's 99 and 00 class.

- 3 of the 8 are listed as "WHEREABOUTS UNKNOWN"
- only 2 have truly current info listed (and one of those is DEAD, so that's pretty easy)
- he somehow had to explain what he meant by "the 1999 and 2000 class, as if that's so terribly confusing
- pretty sure his investigation took place exclusively on Wikipedia

Here it is, if you want to learn nothing:

* Elon Musk talks a lot of s***, and I really like it.

* I'm sorry I'm late, I had to attend the reading of a will. Had to stay to the very end, where I found out I received nothing.

Broke my arm.

Since everybody encourages freshmen to go pro asap and make money overseas, is there any hard and fast evidence of how good that life is? I never see former UK guys stay for more than 1 year at the same team. It’s always “they played in Lebanon, Greece, Turkey, China, Algiers, Morocco, Spain, the G-League, Israel, etc over the course of their 7 year international career.”

Did I just see Beshear said he’s planning on going back to universal mask mandate on tv? Have fun with that gang!

*Where are you seeing our Gov is mandating masks again?

*Glad my birthday and X-mas is over. Maybe next year I'll be a bit more jolly.

*Just received a Dale Murphy autographed baseball from my Aunt that lives in Coronado. Probably the best gift I've received in a long time.

*I'm really close to buying a new ride while I await the fix for the Bronco. I'd just let it go if it weren't for the prices I'm seeing dealers trying to get for the exact model I have now. I'll flip that mofo in a heartbeat.

*Back and forth on going to the bowl game. It will probably be a last minute decision.

*Had a good time yesterday at King Loui's playing a round on the simulator. The only issue I have is a lot of my wedges didn't read because I hit the ball too high. Overall, I recommend.

Huh, so the Delta "Karen" is a former Raiders cheerleader and appeared in Baywatch. Apparently has a Playboy set floating around out there.

Who knew?

"The lady, she said to them, I'm not kidding you, according to court docs, 'What am I, Rosa Parks?' explained 97.1 FM Talk morning show host Marc Cox." #sowoke

- Bought the kid a Cameo from Larry Dallas. Growing up, one of our favorite things to do was watching reruns of Three's Company. I waited and waiting on a confirmation that Richard Kline had sent me the video. It came right at the end of dinner and, boy was he pumped.

I had asked him which episode was his favorite, and he said, "The one where Larry helps Jack serenade a girl from her apartment window."

Boom. Larry Dallas belted him out the song he sang on that episode. It might have been my favorite gift given or ever received.

Not sure Richard Kline should be asking for $100 for a one-minute video, but it was 100% well worth it.

- Forgot how nice it can sometimes be, being single on Christmas. No going to any of the SO's family, not having to buy tons of other gifts, etc.

Spent a nice long day taking mom, sister and kid out for dinner Thursday (see above), followed by going back to Lewis County to see dad and his sister. Then all I had to do is watch/bet on sports/horses, and drink cold boys until Sunday night.

Speaking of being single, went on one date with a girl last week, and she's already sending me pictures of the dress she's buying for Keeneland's opening day "if we go." Slow down, toots.

- First time since 1984 that I didn't watch A Christmas Story. TBS's 24-hour marathon ruined it for me I think. Actually didn't watch any Christmas movies, but played the **** out tons of holiday songs. Thanks YouTube Premium.

- Watching the Dolphins game last night and their logo made me think of all of the other sports logos I either had the wrong impression about or didn't realize what they actually meant.

Dolphins: I thought it was a dolphin jumping through a fiery hoop instead of it a just being a sun behind it.

Expos: Thought that cursive M was "elb." Thought Elb was a French word for Expos.

Brewers: Oh, the glove is formed by the letters M and B!

Quebec Nordiques: Thought it was an elephant. Didn't realize it was just a hockey stick propped up on an igloo.

-August-west's adoption story was awesome, and might have had created some dust in my office reading it. How old is she now?

- Absolutely--as anyone does--adore the 4-day weekend for Christmas and the 3-day for New Year's, but also have the anxiety and dread coming back to work the first of the year, knowing there won't be another "holiday" weekend until the end-of-May.

- Got Michigan at 30-1 for $20 before they beat Ohio State. I hate to root for Big Ten over SEC, but I won't be mad.

- It's been three years, but I still am obsessed with the Chris Watts murders. It is the most surreal thing watching those police cams of him knowing his potential alibi was breaking down just hours after he murdered his whole family. By the way, Shanaan > Nicole.

I can't count how many videos I've watch on that case.

- There is not a bigger gap in a product that does the same thing as crushed versus cubed ice.

I just turned in my tv otw to the shower and whatever service my folks have, it always starts on channel one which is just a local news channel 24/7.

Anyway, I was walking by and Beshear says, “We’ve got to go back to a universal mask policy.” Something about the numbers and how schools have been in a universal mandate all year and have only missed one day.

Not 100% positive but that’s what it sounded like, and lord knows I don’t want that for anyone.

I could honestly buy the shittiest, least reliable vehicle in the history of mankind, with a salvaged title, currently not running, broken down with flood damage and major body repair needed, and complete a full body off restoration from top to bottom in the time it's taken Bernie to get his stupid Ford Bronco.

Jesus Christ.

In fact, I could probably rig the '92 Yugo to fly to the moon and back by then, too.

The design intentions of the Montreal Expos logo is not a rabbit hole to be trifled with:

A January 15, 1969 Calgary Herald article about the logo unveiling describes the emblem as "a mod-like shape of an "M" encompassing a small "e."
Other interpretations surmise that it's a French thing, an "eMb," which represents "Expos de Montréal Baseball."

Additional theories include:

  • "MB" for "Montréal baseball."
  • "CB" for team owner Charles Bronfman.
  • "EB" for Ellen Bronfman, daughter of team owner Charles Bronfman, and
  • "ELB" for "Expos League Baseball."
The club seemingly gave a definitive explanation starting in the late 80s and early 90s—"The Expos logo is composed of three letters, the largest of which is the overall stylized "M" for Montréal. Represented in the lower left of the logo is a lower case "e" for expos and on the right hand side of the logo, in blue, is the letter "b" for baseball." While this may stand as the final word, it seems unusual that this explanation came some two decades after the logo's debut.

She’s 22, will be 23 in April. My brother has tried for years but the other side wouldn’t allow it. After 21 they have no say, so in a few months she will officially have our last name.

Thought this was common knowledge.

(Old Milwaukee Brewers logo is pretty dope too).

Quick hitters:

-The Cards playing in a High School Stadium?

-Steph Curry and I both love the benefits of an infrared sauna. I believe that is the only the we have in common.

-If you have a political slogan in your twitter handle I just assume you smell bad. Likely don't shower nearly enough. Probably have a poop tooth.

-Can't get enough of Cold Heart. What a great song.

-About done with first season of Succession and finally really getting into it. Gotta be honest, if not for the recent rave reviews I would've pulled the plug earlier. Well that and Shiv, worship.

-Chris Mack is punchable. He has a very punchable face.

-Just super ironic timing for "masks don't work and "lets stop counting cases". I just can't put my finger on why that would happen right now. Certainly wasn't the sentiment in August. K.

He was talking about universal masking in schools, like anth said.

And I'm pretty sure he can't mandate that either anymore.

Hey did any of you lefty loons find that “Let’s go Brandon” dad from Christmas Eve? I know it was a matter of national security.

Some goofball got onto a phone call with the President and his wife on Christmas Eve, and dropped a "Let's Go Brandon" as he was hanging up. I mean, whatev.

The bigger story BY FAR was any news outlet who refer to the "slur" lobbed at the President. JFC.
