I’ve had to run some errands this afternoon and have listened to two different Tennessee Titans pregame shows. They sound like the sky is falling. I’m not much of a GAMBOLER but if you are that type, it sounds like it’s all Seahawks no matter how many points they’re giving. These folks are usually big time homers and they’re talking like they’re ready to call it a season.

Right when Clay was coming up the ranks after winning the Gold Medal and about to turn pro everyone understood that pro boxing was being run my the mob and boxers were exploited by the mob.
There was a group of 11 Louisville businessmen with deep pockets that formed a syndicate sponsoring Clay, paying him a salary (unheard of in pro boxing at a time) and covered all of his expenses. They knew they could protect him from getting exploited by the boxing underworld and also had a pretty good hunch they’d get a really good return on their investment based on Clay’s talent and larger than life personality.
