-not sure if that is "world class" worthy...maybe all state.

-took a couple of my guys to the game Saturday... first game for one of them or I woulda left mid third quarter. What a ****** performance.

-staff/players spent too much time sniffing their own farts/reading press clippings...I'm an optimistic person by nature, so I'm going with this experience helping them stay "right sized" for the rest of the year.

- Lively announcing for Duke is a bit of a head-scratcher. I *get* guards and wing players entrusting their development to Scheyer, but an elite big? Seems like that would require more of a wait-and-see. But still, Duke is Duke, and they're on TV more than "Leave it to Beavaaah....reruns". So it's whatever.

- Under Justus(RIP), it feels like we would have been all in on Lively with no backup plan. That was the main knock on him, right? The fact that he always oversold UK's chances while not knowing/building relationships with key stakeholders. Seems like with O/Chin/Jai, the net is cast a bit wider so that they're not left holding the bag.

- Still, Bona is a heck of a consolation. I've been a big fan of his game based on (watch from the 10-second mark to the 27-second mark). Seems like a worthy successor to Oscar. Would still need to find an interior scorer, but maybe a second-year Collins or a third-year Ware/Toppin grow into that, or there's one available on the wire.

- Dad fail....not mowing the yard when the weather is nice, only to realize that it's out of control AND there's rain in the forecast for the next five days. Sorry, neighbors.

- The best things to happen to college football so far this season: 1) Full crowds. 2) USC taking a step back towards relevancy. 3) Bama looking vulnerable.

- Here's why NFL crowds are worse than CFB crowds....at college football games, fans from opposing teams fight. At NFL games, fans of the SAME team fight.

- Clunker game out of our system? Would like to chalk it up to that and move on but a lack of pass rush and forced turnovers plus barley braking 100 yards rushing against the Fighting CClarks gives pause for concern.

Will still go with the team smelling themselves for a week, looking forward to their first SEC road trip and likely a run through sorority circle the night before as the culprits. Get ish right this week Stoops and force ESPN to make a decision for 10/2 Gameday location.

- Bourbon fans, don't waste your time next year on the KY Bourbon Festival unless you enjoy sampling juice from the start-ups. Very few traditional distilleries attended. Those who did offered nothing more interesting than what you can find daily, you can't buy bottles there and you have to drive to Bardstown.

Did stumble into a little pizza joint, Cafe Primo, that made damn good pies. Better brown water offering than the festival as well.

- Florida posting 250 rushing yards on Bama with a bulk of them from the QB1 makes one recalibrate that game on the 2nd. Really need a yeoman's effort from that side of the ball in Columbia to atone for Saturday's ishshow.

- College coaches/competition committee needs to vote to eliminate the targeting rule in the offseason. Judgement call that varies too much and carries too severe a penalty to the player and team. Guessing they won't because dumb rules seem to prevail these days.

- Ordered some gear from that Homefield site 3 weeks ago and still haven't received a 'shipped' notification. Complete failure from a startup. Bigger failure from Bonz for not figuring out how to cancel the order now.

- Snagged 4 PNC suite tix for the season finale with little brother and after their win Friday and how their fans have swung from putting Satterfield in front of a firing squad to now running the ACC table should be extra chippy.

And while that pick 6 ruined some quality entertainment this week, a noted podcaster pointed out it likely saddled the Cards with him for a few more years. Glass half full, ATKOT.

- Pretty happy to see the humidity go, you guys.

Shorts:

- Walked to Oktoberfest Saturday afternoon with the wife and baby. It was stupid gross outside but still nice to grab a brat, have a couple brewskis and introduce the little one to her heritage with a potato pancake. Easily my favorite annual Cincinnati area festival.

- I’d put the german almond stand smell up against any. Enchanting aroma.

- Hit up Losanti in OTR Saturday night for my mother-in-law’s birthday. Just a gorgeous evening with Washington Park filled with people, the shops restaurants and bars hopping, and an FC Cincinnati game (match 🤷🏻‍♂️) going on. Lively night.

- Losanti is outstanding- filet every bit as good as Ruby’s imo. Great atmosphere. Huzzahs all around. Hope to get back soon.

- Was really cool seeing so many dads and children headed to the soccer game. Guessing this is the new baseball.

- Speaking of, hats off to the Reds’ epic pants shitting this month. Who knows with these F’ers, though. They could inexplicably get hot again and streak down the stretch. My father is NOT pleased with “Dusty” Bell.

- Meh there are like 5 football teams in the country who haven’t had a game where they’ve looked like dogshit. Survive and move along.

- Don’t like Florida figuring **** out tho.

- Why is Oklahoma steady in the Top 5? These sportswriters get on their knees for Riley.

- Give me Bona (hold your lame jokes). This isn’t a new take. I believe in one year of ball, there’s not a huge gap in what they’ll bring to a ball team- especially one as loaded as ours. Lively is good but his modern 5 upside is why he’s rated so highly.

- There’s a certain pretentiousness that comes with buying what Duke sells that causes me to lose respect for their players. As much as I hate UNC and Louisville, I don’t have that disdain for their players. So, Lively can GGP.

- Get rid of the ejection unless the targeting is egregious head-hunting or spearing. Take offensive players’ actions into account as well.

- Favorite Succession Characters:

1. Tom
2. Logan
3. Kendall - so well-acted

- This ain’t Wodie Sloot’s Nashville - good article on what our old fave has become:

  • Cheated on his wife all the time. Like, banging the maid in the next room kind of cheating.
  • Nine kids from four women
  • Rumors of domestic abuse and rape
Maybe they should put him on Mount Rushmore with George Washington and Thomas Jefferson since he'd fit right in.

In his prime, I wouldn't want another fighter over Ali. He was probably the best.
I would much rather have Trump as president than Biden, Clinton or Obama.
Both of these dudes are world class scum bags (Hillary is too). I think Obama is probably a pretty good dude. Biden has dementia so no comment there.

@Kooky Kats what did you mean you didn’t know the reason for a tv/mirror in the shower? Figured most dudes shaved in the shower at this point and I watch tv in the shower everyday or podcast. Pretty fantastic.

Having an egomaniac doctor that thinks he can do no wrong operating on me sounds awful actually. Those are the people least willing to listen to others and adapt and improve. Or a pilot. Or really any important profession I would think. Not really sure I get that take.

I think of it more as I want my orthopedic surgeon to have supreme confidence he can get into my hip/shoulder/ankle/wrist and fix whatever is found in there without regard for "hammering surgical tools into bones is actually kind of horrifying??" that most non-MDs have, or for my pilot to think "I'm so effing good I don't care if a pop up thunderstorm comes up around us, I got this **** all day." The line between that kind of God-complex and psychopathy is pretty thin, though, so I get your point.

Ever bid on auction items at nonprofit events just to piss your wife off?

I do. Frequently.

And she's super pissed off today because I won the auction bid for a 4 foot tall Snoop Dogg bobblehead.

"I mean the money goes to a great charity and really helps people out babe." 😂

Still *really* upset with UCF. That game was a gimme for them and there is no way they shouldve been in a dogfight with Louisville. Not to mention merely running the ball a couple of times and kicking a FG at the end would ensure a victory- and they come out chucking it around like a bunch of a-holes. Instead of having 1.5 feet in their grave 3 weeks into the season, Louisville all of a sudden has hope. Last time I get my gambol picks from the BM Weekly podcast, thats for sure.

Heading to Lexington this weekend- first time since Covid I think. Is the Hyatt still the easy hotel play? No new decent spots I presume.

This story about the poor girl being killed is awful in every sense of the word. At this point I wonder if the family of the boyrfriend just hopes hes dead too. He's too far beyond being able to tell a convincing narrative on what happened that ends with anything other than him being a murderer.

As many touches as Wandale has had- we've got to find a way to get him more. But i'm not sure receiving punts is his domain. Its a nervous few seconds each time he's fair catching the ball.

How good is Levis? He obviously has a huge arm, *can* make passes that stretch down the field, though he's missed a lot of those too... has trouble with routes over the middle, missed some coverages the last couple weeks.. No doubt an upgrade from what we've had recently- but we havent faced a tough defense yet and there are some pretty big issues he needs to improve on fairly quickly...

I dont know how many other games on our schedule we can win with a defense thats just going to sit back and give up 6 yards a play.
