Anyone recommend Theragun or deep tissue (nodrbob) massagers generally? Not sure I believe the hype.

The Norm Macdonald tributes on here have been awesome today, but man, what an absolute gut punch. When I was 13 or 14, in those formative years that really shape your tastes and personality, SNL was must-see appointment viewing. I never missed it. And the part I always looked forward to the most was Weekend Update. Norm just wrecked me in a way other comedians didn't. Sure, sometimes the jokes would miss or the audience would be a little confused, or sometimes just outright shocked, but Norm was fearless. The guy went after OJ so much they fired him, then when they brought him back to host like a year or two later he went all in saying he was fired for supposedly not being funny, but was now asked to come back to host not because he became funny all of the sudden in the time since they fired him, but because the show and everyone on it now sucked. The dude had balls...

I can't tell you how many times over the past few years I've spent literal hours some nights just watching playlists of his and cracking up just as hard the 100th time I watched it compared to the first. He had so many years left and I was looking forward to him aging into this elder statesman of comedy role that he could come out for any show or spot and just completely derail things in an absolutely awesome way. Really bummed by this one.

Here are a few of my favorite clips you don't typically see (and sorry for the length for a lurker, I just love me some Norm):

1. Norm completely clowning a snowboarder (timestamp 7:15 if it doesn't automatically go to it):

2. A great bit on cigarettes/Joe Camel with Dennis Miller (timestamp 3:23):

3. Just an excellent compilation of just some great jokes and one-liners post-SNL:

4. Norm with a perfect send off to Conan O'Brien when Leno was stealing back The Tonight Show:

5. And probably my favorite joke of all time...

Deep Tissue yes. I did hot stones as well but fell asleep within 10 minutes.

I get 3-4 deep tissue massages a year because my neck/shoulder area knots up like crazy and they absolutely work that out.

If you're into dirty, old, dive bars filled with 30-60 year olds getting sloppy drunk and just happen to be in Bowling Green, you know like me, make sure you stop into Check's Pool Hall. Tell em Faxon sent ya.

BTW, Bowling Green is an awesome spot. Big fan of the area, and the people for the most part.
I am glad SOMEONE is this thread knows what's up. Real knows Real. And Check's IS the hangout. Joe Dillard has made a small fortune booking out of Check's. Lawyers, Judges, Bookies, The Elite of BG, worst of BG, and everyone in between can be seen there. All walks of life under one roof and not a damn pretentious person in the joint.
Smokey Pig
Split Tree
Mister B's Pizza
Firehouse Pizza
Lost River Pizza Company
Doug's Motor City (breakfast) Biker Joint, some of you *ussies probably need not walk in)

Bowling Green CC (Host KY High School Golf Championship

The Club at Olde Stone (even have a top notch championship caliber golf course. But hey, Owensboro has "The Summit" or whatever it is now. Paducah ? LOL. Hoptown ? Nope.

Re: Bowling Green, there's a good BBQ place near the Corvette plant I hit up sometimes called Smokey Pig. **** is Monroe Co style. Their dipped pork shoulder is dope.

Toots lives on in Murfreesboro at least. However I don't have a reason to frequent it anymore now that Mom and Dad have moved up here.
Another fine visitor who knows What's up. Smokey pig IS indeed the ****.

But I do not know why I am so surprised with all of the BG hate, MF'ers watch videos of people making sure people put their shopping carts up, AND THINK THAT **** IS FUNNY, Uh, childish, yes, funny F No.

Somewhere, OJ is laughing.
Ole Norm just railed on OJ for years.

My favorite joke was:

“In his new book OJ said that he would take a bullet or stand in front of a train for Nichole. Man, I tell ya what, that is some bad luck. The one man who would have died for you killed you”

Loved Norm and his dry sense of humor. Quite possibly the best improvisational comic I’ve ever seen. He was so quick on his feet with either a joke or comeback.

Pretty sure 3/4 if the jokes Norm told on that ESPY would not be allowed to be told today.

“And there’s Charles Woodson! How about that? What a season he had. He became the first defensive player to win the Heisman Trophy. Congratulations, Charles, that is something that no one can ever take away from you. Unless you kill your wife and a waiter, in which case, all bets are off.”

Meh. I followed that story the first time, when it was called “Fletch.”

Do you own rubber gloves?
I rent 'em. I have a lease with an option to buy.

Awww, come on guys, it's so simple maybe you need a refresher course.

Hey! It's all ball bearings nowadays. Now you prepare that Fetzer valve with some 3-in-1 oil and some gauze pads, and I'm gonna need 'bout ten quarts of anti-freeze, preferably Prestone. No, no make that Quaker State.

For BBdK.

* With 17 games to go, Kris Bryant is hitting a robust .273. I'll happily take food out of the mouths of krazykats' ever growing family.

* More on Najeh Davenport, from his full Wiki page...

During his career, Davenport was given the nicknames "Dookie"[11] and "The Dump Truck."[12] While playing for the Packers, a portable commode was placed inside of his locker during training camp as a rookie hazing prank,[13] and a spirited letter writing campaign to the Green Bay team equipment manager asked in jest that he be issued jersey Number Two for practice,[14] which is still referenced during the opening of the "D-List" show on WAUK ESPN 540 in Milwaukee.[15] All are plays on the incident.

This is spectacular.

* Woodstock documentary on HBO.....

- if you're like me, and despise young, white men who enjoy drinking and partying, you'll love this one. they're the worst
- man, the people playing in the "mud pit" that happened to be 7 feet away from a procession of overflowing porta-potties -- those people should have been eradicated.
- not sure who was more insufferable with their holier-than-thou fan-shaming, either moby or the two women journalists.
- listening to fred durst openly being **** on was pretty awesome. that guy just sucks at at life

* I really appreciate this confidence in Chris Rodriguez:

“Kids make mistakes. I made some bad calls. I didn’t get benched. At the end of the day we’re all going to make some bad calls, bad decisions, bad plays, and I truly believe on gameday it’s my responsibility and our job as coaches to act more as caddies. Let’s keep playing. We gotta keep our best players positive, keep them upbeat and that was the goal there. He had a hot hand, he was doing a great job all game, he just had a couple bad plays.”

Score one for Liam Coen in the leadership department.

* How's everyone doing so far this Stepdaddy Season?

* We can argue hot/cold all/air, but nothing is worse than RAIN. This is the rainiest city in America (didn't know that until former hopefully meteorologist MCF pointed it out to me). We hit our annual average rainfall all the way back at the end of June, and that was before a Cat 4 Hurricane. Currently on the outer band of another right now, and getting 4-5 inches+ per day. F this.

* Top 5 Chevy Chase flicks:

1> Fletch
2> Christmas Vacation
3> Spies Like Us
4> Fletch Lives
5> Three Amigos

* Is Wayne Brady gonna have to choke a *****?

* Book rec: Chasing the Thrill, the story of Forrest Fenn and his hidden treasure hunt.

link: Forrest Fenn

* It's been a month or so since the Olympics. So, what was the follow up here? Did everyone die?

* That The View clip tommyg posted --> WOW JUST WOW.

Those bitches were so uptight and unprepared and thrown off guard, I got secondary embarrassment on their behalf. What a genius. You could tell Barbara Walters, who is supposedly in the discussion for GOAT interviewer, was just begging him to play right into her.

bw = so, what did you think about the presidential election, norm?
nm = bush is corrupt and i think al gore won!
crowd = unrestrained glee, exuberance, raucous applause

False.

Fletch Lives was as bad as Fletch was good. Anybody putting that in Chevy Chases’s top 5 can’t be taken seriously.

- Caddyshack
Vacation
Three Amigos
Foul Play
Christmas Vacation

- I hope this doesn't end up as a #FreezingColdTake, but this weekend's Louisville game is shaping up as a perfect storm. Gus Malzahn coming to town with a UCF team that has already beaten Boise State, a frustrated UL fanbase, the stand-alone national telecast on a Friday night when Male is playing Trinity at the same time. This could be absolute *chef's kiss*.

- James Franklin is going to kill it at USC. Cristobal holds out for Bama or Miami. Fickell holds out for tOSU (if Day goes pro) or Notre Dame. Penn State goes Matt Campbell. Nobody cares who Iowa State gets.

I don’t like listening to the interviews of players on KSR because the questions aren’t great imo. Rodriguez is on now and it has been decent.

He is doing a meet and greet at KSBar tomorrow night....I wonder how much those kids are making for appearances like that?

Re Funny Farm: The concept of Chevy paying off an entire town he hates so they all act like the classic small town for prospective buyers so he can gtfo that ******** only to want to stay because he likes how the townspeople are now will always be hilarious to me. Plus his feud with the mailman played by Kevin Conway is amazing.
