As I approach my 40th birthday, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. And I believe that one of the “official” positions I’ve arrived at is that I no longer give a f**k about anything that does not directly affect me.
Not that I don’t necessarily care about such other things, but moreso the realization that emotionally investing myself in something I can’t do anything about is just a waste of energy.
Abortion, Afghanistan, ESPN, she-males, horse dewormers, wokes, reactionaries, goat f**kers, masks, Putin, Trump, Biden, whatever. None of this affects my day-to-day (or that of my loved ones) whatsoever.
There’s too much good music, books, food, booze, mountains, rivers, etc. All of this other **** is just noise. Working on adjusting my perspectives accordingly.
This isn’t a one-off thought/post, but something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I think this is the way. We’ll see.
