Well, I guess I was 3 when he came out with that sooo I wouldn’t know. And grand master flash was garbage. If I remember correctly it’s like slow rap disco or something but I appreciate him paving the way for good stuff.

As I approach my 40th birthday, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. And I believe that one of the “official” positions I’ve arrived at is that I no longer give a f**k about anything that does not directly affect me.

Not that I don’t necessarily care about such other things, but moreso the realization that emotionally investing myself in something I can’t do anything about is just a waste of energy.

Abortion, Afghanistan, ESPN, she-males, horse dewormers, wokes, reactionaries, goat f**kers, masks, Putin, Trump, Biden, whatever. None of this affects my day-to-day (or that of my loved ones) whatsoever.

There’s too much good music, books, food, booze, mountains, rivers, etc. All of this other **** is just noise. Working on adjusting my perspectives accordingly.

This isn’t a one-off thought/post, but something I’ve been thinking about for a while. I think this is the way. We’ll see.

Chad’s one of those guys looking forward to being old and grumpy. I wish him well.

Agree, you just gotta find your thing, and do it well. The rest is noise.

Billions back this weekend.

Wife just made finishing the basement a priority. I’ve been stewing for awhile. Life’s too short, it’s go time for man cave.

Never forget:

White Wayne said DPG ‘Let’s Play House’ was “the worst song I’ve ever heard”

Lmaooo 😂

Blatant racism. No other plausible explanation for a take like that.

Suck my balls you ***** boy. Trust I’m Gonna drop a brown surprise on your ground trampoline very soon.

You need any advice, lemme know. Of the $265,000 capitol improvements to my house - my basement Reno is easily my favorite project.

* Speaking of turning 40 and learning to relax and enjoy the ride instead of confronting mortality, Trevor Moore of The Whitest Kids You Know show from back in the day died in some unexplained "accident" last month. He was 41, married, and had a young kid. WKUK was one of the funniest things I ever saw as young'n and holds up to this day -- especially the Slow Jerk skit (which I'm not linking for obvious reasons).

Dude was a Dork Legend.

Like the USS Dick Pipe, the WKUK guys got together for a memorial to raise money for his family and could not resist claiming the cause of death was strangulation from autofellatio. 🤣

* Haven't seen the Patriots cutting Cam Newton and going all in on Mac Jones mentioned here. Kind of nice to see that the biggest story on ESPN involves SEC legends with a UK connection -- one guy who lost to the Fighting Will Fidlers of UK and the other who was a UK commit once upon a time.

* I hope Commonwealth is filled on Saturday but it doesn't seem like there is a ton of demand for tickets. A noon game on Labor Day weekend coupled with all the delta variant concerns might keep attendance sparser than we would like.

It is hard to compete with the big screen if the tailgate scene isn't a blast.

I'm sure a rousing speech from Topbutton today on KSR will butts in seats, though.

* UK ROCKS!

You should have been on the field at the end of the LSU game in 2002 😬

Bar none, the worst I've ever felt, leaving CWS. And I've seen some bad beats in the 42 years my father and I have been attending UK home games. I won't run through the litany of horrible endings; what is the point? But that was the topper. My Dad and I left the stadium, stunned and utterly empty. I remember thinking, "I can't do this anymore. I'm done..."

(but we DID soldier on, like MOST UK fans)

I'd STILL like to hunt down that MF'er in the LSU "cow" costume, and take a hammer to his stupid fvcking head.

I waited on hold with the ticket office for 15 minutes to ask them and gave up but does anyone know if you can still buy UK tickets directly from the ticket office or buy walk up tickets with the mobile ticketing policy?

Yeah that was like a 14 minute QB sneak for 4 yards over and over and over. Nothing a college team could really do to stop that size and athleticism from a QB. Everyone watching it knew what was happening.

Man, the cow costume was inexplicable, weird and terrible all at the same time. Why in gods name was he wearing that?
There’s a guy who dresses up like an orange/black storm trooper and a guy who dresses like orange/black Captain Obvious at Bengals’ games and it’s like people accept “yeah that’s a thing” like the LSU cow guy and I don’t get any of it.

I don’t get the creation of the custom outfits, I don’t get how they relate to the teams, I don’t get why other people seem cool with it. It’s confusing and irritating.

- there was once a black teenage girl in Norton Commons and some old doctor attempted to choke her to death for not social distancing.

- no video that I know of but there are a couple pics out there of the cow fan getting decked by a UK fan.

* Sister-In-Law's brother just died from Covid.

He was an anti-vaxxer. Around 40. Sad for my SIL & her family, but he was pretty much an A-Hole.

2nd time I met him was the day after the Wisconsin loss. As usual I was all decked out in UK garb.

"Your Wildcats got their asses beat by a bunch of white boys! I love it!"

Marge immediately just grabbed me by the arm and walked me into another room.

So, yeah.

* Speaking of my teams... my Buckeyes with a big game tonight. So happy college football is back.

* More importantly, the 9-yr old Loveland Storm Orange Team has a big road tilt vs Thunder FC G12 Elite.

* Nobody can touch my UK hoody/track jacket/fleece/outer wear collection. That auction I "won" stocked my closet with the finest official team wear. Can't wait for the weather to get crisp enough for me to peacock around in it.

* Wish I was coming down for the game. But at least I might have a certain red assed friend of GYERO at my house watching with me.

* Phillies or Cards are going to snag the 2nd NL wildcard spot. I'd love to be wrong. Thank you Reds for keeping it interesting into September.

* Bengals will win 5 or 6 games this year if the QB survives.

* Something is wrong with my hip all the way around to my groin area. I feel like I spent the night with CY Young award winner Trevor Bauer. Consensually, of course.

* Gonna drink a lot of Down Home 9-Yr Rye this weekend.

* I'll be shooting commercials in Michigan next week. Already getting forwarded that article about Hunter Dickinson calling out Cal for ducking the Wolverines from the MI based crew.

I will have the Aaron Harrison/Anth's sweaty pits video ready to go at all times.

I really hope we play them in the tourney again this year. I hate those bastards.

* Sorry about your boat, Rogue.

* Sorry about the **** on your trampoline, White Wayne.

* Sorry for rambling, GYERO. Have a great touching day.

Didn’t realize Kirby Smart was eating **** week 1. That just makes our potential victory over GA that much sweeter. Could be an ugly season for that white *******.

Tim Brando of all people was on Leach this morning throwing shade at GA. Said JT Daniels wasn’t all that. Tough road for Kirby. F THEM.

I’ll tell one thing that other white ******* named Mitch should be saying on the radio this morning “AS AD OF UK I ASHAMED AT THE WAY OUR YOUNG BLACK ATHLETES ARE BEING TREATED!!!”. That bs keeps sounding worse, and we will never really be true SEC till we are immune from some bs like this taking out 6 players, at least two of them 2 deep/potential starters.

Thursday Randoms...with proper formatting/spacing.

- Last day of work before paternity leave. Off until 10/5.

- We are driving (yes, driving) 1000 miles up to Indy tonight/tomorrow with 2 year old and 1 mo old for family reunion. Feel bad for the 2 year old...she hasn't gotten to meet anyone on mom's side of family. Mom is 1 of 10 so she is in store to meet about 50-60 first and second cousins. Actually, looking forward to the drive. Work has been a grind and is just a way to veg out.

- Will probably miss the game on Saturday. Was always the case with my family reunion being on Labor Day weekend. Used to be a big problem when we opened with Louisville. Was probably one of the few that was happy we moved that from being the opener.

- Had yearly physical...up about 5lbs from prior. Would bet most of that was gained in last month since #2 was born. I will get back it back in order though. Having lost 50lbs once in my life and 25lbs another time, I will not be doing that again.

- The only game I missed in 5 years at UK was the LSU game in 2002. Brother was getting married in NC right before he went off to Iraq. Was on phone with at the time mother in law and all she said was "OH MY GOD".

- Have pretty much stopped following any and all political items on social media. Hate both parties to begin with. Both sides lie, both sides cheat, both sides steal and it ain't going to change. Just removed it out of my life.

- 2 year old is about to move up a level in swim class. She's been asking to ring the bell the last several classes. She's been getting the ring off the bottom of the pool for over a month now...what are we waiting for?!?!

- Louisville is going to get blasted on national television by Ole Miss and I am here for it.

- Rarely listen to KSR but will tune in today at 11am to hear Mitch not answer anything specifically or straight forward.

- Jesus, a lot of typos and grammar mistakes in that first post, updated to fix.

Taking politics out of your life improves it by 1000000% immediately. That’s why I quit social media last year until well past the election. I check the political thread on occasion just to watch the same 10 guys go, “ BOOOM gotcha!” “Nuh uh! That’s false.” “Yuh huh! Here’s a tweet that proves it” “Wrong here’s a tweet that says the opposite!”

Over and over every single day. I mean, they can’t be happy people.

- Sat in the cheapies right behind home plate last night with the old man. The hills of ol’ Kentucky were just a breathtaking backdrop on a perfect late summer evening.

- We parked in Newport in one of my dad’s secret spots (“they never check this place!”) and walked the bridge over just like we have my whole life. Dad rocked a Reds cap, Reds polo tucked into cargo shorts and some gawdawful ugly Sketcher sneakers- so we were in good shape had we run into a client. He referred to Bell as “Dusty Bell” the entire article game, insinuating he’s as bad of manager as Dusty Baker (his least favorite human of all-time), was adamant Aquino can’t hit curveballs and then accused Yadier Molina of starting stuff with the Reds because he’s a piece of ****.

- All that being said, with the emergence of OTR and the cover provided by Mt. Adams and Mt. Auburn, still think the spot where the casino now stands would have been a pretty cool spot for the stadium when they built it over 20 years ago.

- The 10-day forecast is absolutely sublime.

- Anyone watching Titletown High about the Valdosta football team? As always, I’m a sucker for these sorts of “follow a team for a season” shows/books. Stars the same head coach from MTV’s Twoadays - a real bastard, kind of a mix between Bud Kilmer and BB Thornton. The major plot seems to be blaming the young QB and team’s struggles on his 15 year old sweetheart black girlfriend so it will likely get cancelled as soon as the wokes find out about it.

- Buckeyes closer than you think. Cats big. Bama big. Dawgs in a barn burner.

- I mean this with the utmost sincerity, I really appreciate Sloot creating a Facebook invite for every tailgate. It’s always a great notification to get whether I’m coming down or not. You’re the best.

People NOT paying attention to what their government is doing (to them) has led to a lot of the stuff that the government is doing (to them)

I'm not talking about Facebook p8ssing contests, I'm talking about getting involved, and actually researching voting records of your elected officials, and holding them accountable at the ballot box.
