Monday Shorts:
- Normally, I’m a surly Monday hater but today I am fresh and alive, because we are on the last few paces of the fire bridge that is August and ahead is the greatest third of the year.
September-December is like an old Kanye album - banger after banger. Start of football season, September/October are probably the two best weather months of the year in these parts, Halloween, college basketball, Thanksgiving, Christmas.
- Speaking of, Donda is fine background music, very listenable like coffee house jazz is listenable, but there isn’t a jam on the record. This isn’t “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.”
- And my gawd does college football kick off strong. Some bigtime games this weekend.
- My little girl turns one in 9 days. Can’t believe it. She is so fun and full of life. She’s loud as hell, often just screaming with joy for minutes. She’s curious, loves to laugh and I look forward to seeing her every morning and every day after work.
- If you often use the term “alpha” I can almost guarantee you’re awful.
- Glad Cantlay won yesterday. Or DeChambeau would have been great too. Actually, I was rooting pretty hard for all 70. Was great seeing one guy win but pretty tough watching the other 69 lose. Maybe they all can win the next one.
- Man, I have turned into a (bigger) p-word since my daughter’s birth. I just can’t watch sad **** like the NatGeo 9/11 doc without becoming a complete sap. Tough to believe it’s been 20 years.
- … which means it’s also been 20 years since I was a student at UK.

Incredible.
- I’ll be damned- since Richie’s 5 GYERO rants about it, I have certainly noticed “one hundred percent” being used a lot more often- mostly podcasters.
- Before you all even get started, Laura Rutledge is overrated.
- Who’s not overrated? The chick who played the daughter in “White Lotus.”
- Out of those I’m close with, the two biggest anti-COVID vaxxers I know are a very overweight 52-year-old who doesn’t exercise at all and another buddy who’s been smoking since he was 12, also could lose 30 lbs and doesn’t exercise. Both great friends but stubborn MFers. Worry about them every day.
