Jesus, the football player fight scandal thread is predictably awful. Discussion including the use of the N-word, fraternity hating, anecdotes and just a general bunch of nonsense and ********.

No mention of the NBC news article on the record setting pace of murders and the low percentage of them being solved in the topographical city? Also mentioned the lack of interest by the police because of the Taylor incident. Guessing that’ll be glossed over by the reports of the improvement of the homeless problem.

The long standing joke of betting the long shots the last couple of weeks at Ellis Park because the owners are paying off the barn bills took on a whole new look this weekend. I know they set up races but burning down barns and jacked up horse running down the road is taking it a bit too far.

Getting an early start to get the boat and go fishing this morning was a great idea until you can’t see 10 feet in front of you because of the dense fog. Even worse when you’re actually tossing lures in the grass and trees because you can’t tell where the shore is located. What’s the limit on tree bass?

Here's my mention of it. This prick Howard Henderson, a nonresident senior fellow at The Brookings Institution, was quoting as saying this regarding poor morale by our police force.

"It’s bad for the system to have officers with low morale. The lower the morale, the worse the job performance,” Henderson said. “The question really needs to be why is morale low? Is it that morale is low because people are being held accountable for the first time? Morale might be low for a good reason.”

How about we ship Howard Henderson down to the west end for a few months to see if he'd rather have cops proactively do their job or just let the residents there terrorize each other (and hopefully Henderson)?

In more positive football news, I have a childhood friend who has a son who is a sophomore in high school currently ranked 5th overall in the recruiting rankings. Her boy goes 6'2 215, benches 350, squats 500, won state in the 400M in Georgia last year, and runs the 100 in 10.92. As a freshman he rushed for over 1,400 yards. He's got offers from Georgia, Ole Miss, and Ga Tech to name a few, and Clemson - who doesn't offer sophomores - is putting the full court press on him (our boy Stoops is taking a "wait and see" approach and has yet to offer).

Curiously, he's only getting interest as a linebacker rather than a running back. I don't understand why. Here's his profile: Sammy Brown

Only been 125 so probably enough to spread around the morale. Maybe if they made it mandatory to wear masks it’d slow the Delta murder variant down but Andy will probably just lock the whole town down.

If White Wayne can't influence his friend's Mullet Dolph Lundgren son to come to UK, what's he bringing to the table?

1. First of all, my friend is an absolute smoke show and has been since I met her the first day of 6th grade. I put the full court press on her from the moment I saw her.

2. Secondly, I contacted her about the rise in the UK football program, the fact that we'd let him play RB (I assume Stoops would be cool with that), and that her son would be the man from the moment he arrived in Lexington.

Results for the second were equally as good as results from the first, which is to say I was completely ignored in both cases. I did date her slightly less attractive (but still hot) sister in 8th grade, however, so perhaps this guy's younger brother will consider UK.

Sounds exactly like another Georgia kid who attended my wife’s high school and was considered the greatest thing since sliced bread in this part of the state. He chose UGA and graduated last year. In four years he never saw the field, other than special teams.

I think it’s a crap shoot once you get to top tier D1. This kid I’m talking about is clearly a stud athlete, but he does play in more of a mid-level of high school in GA. Further, is he going to keep growing or is he already maxed out? Who knows - I hope he is the next Luke Kuechly.

Not many white running backs anymore. Except small plug and play 3rd down backs like Danny Woodhead. Or a physical freak like CMC (5’11” shredded and elite speed). This kid likely translates better to LB because he is fast. Probably outside LB in a 3-4 and special teams. Needs to put on 25 lbs. He’s a classic tweener. Too tall for RB. Too small for TE. Too tall for inside LB. But definitely talented enough to earn a scholarship.

In all seriousness, I love my wife and my family.......

That said, you’d have to be naive to think the things they do at my expense aren’t on purpose in some way.

Ive framed, I’ve plumbed, I’ve ran wire, I’ve drywalled and I’m now running trim and painting.

I’ll be damned if after I ran the coat of primer my wife didn’t come home with a dark blue that 100% has to be done twice to look right.

Sigh. Whatever. Complaining just gives away what I think, I’ve learned, and at this point I’ve come to the realization that I’m doing whatever she says anyway.

I can’t wait for football season so I can crawl back into my doghouse with her so pissed she doesn’t even want to speak to me.

Better/Football days ahead my friends!
