Maybe I am, you could be right. But I'm objectively correct that f*cking FICA isn't "paying your federal income tax," and was completely irrelevant to the discussion, and that your point was stupid. So blind squirrel tonight, I guess.

Jesus Christ dude. It’s a federal tax employers pay on behalf of their employees to the federal government. The import of your original position was that employees don’t cause employers to pay taxes on their behalf. That is clearly false.

Do employers pay “income” taxes on behalf of their employees? Clearly, no. Do they pay taxes because of those employees that cost them a **** ton on money? Yes. You are speaking of a distinction without a difference.

If YOU were a serf, you would cost your employer a lot less money. TS.

I wouldn't mind relocating to coastal Carolina so I could surf whenever I wanted. My board (90's Phil Edwards Hobie triple stringer longboard, single box fin) is probably dry-rotted by now. My Dad's storage unit isn't climate controlled.

The import of my original position was NOT that employees don’t cause employers to pay taxes on their behalf. It was specifically that they don't pay the employee's personal federal income tax. There was never an argument that your employer pays into your social security or medicare funding. Because that's obvious. You can go as hard as you want and call me whatever you like. That was never the discussion. And it's in black and white for anyone to read.

The discussion between Hyman and me, was in regards to a person's federal income tax, which is a universally understood term for a tax that is objectively not FICA. You either know this and you're just muddying the water to cover for misreading and posting something dumb, or you need to go watch YouTube videos and figure out how your taxes work because you're dumb AF. That's not meant as an insult, that's a fact. I assume you're just muddying the water here because you misread something and posted too fast. Last post on the subject from me.

You're both right. It IS a tax, but it wasn't what I was referring to.

My contention is that if the employer pays money to someone, for labor, and a portion of that pay essentially just makes a temporary stop between employer and the government, The employer IS the one that is essentially paying the tax. the employer is pre-requisite to the other two events.

Keeneland sucked balls today, BTW

Got talked into the Phoenix room, which, if you ask me, is pointless, dreary, and obnoxious. I tried to slip out and go have some actual fun, trackside, but my wife wasn't having it. Bottled, barely cold beer, watered down highballs that I had to wait (for too long) to be brought to me, and a boring menu. And a c*** of a server that I'm pretty sure was still drunk from the night before.

Dude... I’d kill for entire “shitshow” you had to endure.

maybe you’re just cranky.

Friday nights usually suck on GYERO, man. Most people have fun stuff to do, and not post on the internet. People with kids, like me and Bristol, just engage in aimless diatribe and drink bourbon, while waiting for the lord to take us up.
Yeah, all of that for me was literally while my 4-year old daughter stalled and scammed and manipulated her bedtime for an hour. If you're on GYERO at 9PM on a Friday and you don't have kids you're a f*cking loser and you get what you deserve.

(And no, it wasn't a sweet story time that I was ignoring. She's a scam artist and the sweet story time was over long ago.)

Absolutely. Bedtime with my almost three year old is a federal project anymore. Three books turns into seven. The blankets must be placed perfectly. Lamps turned out in the correct order. Kisses/hugs all in the correct order.

It’s all very sweet, don’t get me wrong. But it’s a goddamned OCD sociopath in the making.

Sleep is practice for death and fighting it, bargaining with it, cheating it, delaying it is all built into our DNA even when we're 3 years old. There's another weird Friday night can of worms we can open up.

As a longtime lurker and also dad of two, I know and get it. But also as a former tax attorney (yeah, yeah, Chad, I’ll go F myself with the “attorney talk”), the LAST ****ing thing I want to see and read about in GYERO on a Friday night is federal tax discussion.
Totally fair, CSC. I agree 110%. The only saving grace, at the end of the day, is that attorneys keep this thing afloat, and they have for going on 20 years. It is a brutal job, and makes it difficult to post during the work day, but we do our best to carve out those billable hours, and create a happy and loving environment for all.

There's two kinds of parents. Ones that control the situation and ones that are controlled by the situation. I always figured you for a man who could control the situation, Duff. I guess I was wrong. Don't lose a negotiation to a 3-year old!
