Are carpenter jeans ever gonna make a comeback? I’ve been holding onto a few Abercrombie pairs from college, along with a collection of super oversized shirts just in case.

According to wife, baggy pants are coming back but I don’t know.

Must be nice was an argument I really liked using until we recently had one of the easier paths ever and **** all over ourselves. Now I feel like I can't bring it up anymore.

I mean we had one of the easiest paths ever when we were a ****** team and like a 6 seed. I think the “must be nice” thing means it would’ve been nice if 2015 or 2017 or 2010 or any of our actually good teams had an easy path.

Friendly reminder that the Selection Committee screws us intentionally every year, inspiring phrases like “hottest 15 seed ever,” or “criminally underseeded 13.” It’s a Murderers Row every March, or as the futbol fans may say — a “Group of Death.”

Every other team ever gets a cakewalk in every single game.

- Perfect storm for Michigan last night. Missed wide-open looks, poor FT shooting, and some overthinking by Juwan Howard towards the end. Why didn't Chaundee Brown get those looks instead of Smith/Wagner? He had the hotter hand. If you only need one, and their best big is on the bench, why use Dickinson as the inbounder instead of lobbing it in to him and giving him the chance to win it in the paint? Howard seemed to freeze a bit at the end, but ultimately it was all three things that cost them.

- Tyger Campbell has been on the scene for something like 12 years. Remember him committing to DePaul as a 7th-grader or something like that. Such a steady hand most of the time.

- Over the past 10 years, what are the most boring, bland Power Five college basketball programs, when you factor in coach/fanbase/record/location/conference, etc.? Kansas State, Washington State, Mizzou, Wake Forest, and Penn State come to mind. Each of those occasionally pops up and has a nice season, but when you look at the total package, they're all just bowls of meh. I do like Penn State's new hire (Shrewsbury) though. He's been seen as a rising star for a while now.

- Pfizer now saying that their vaccine is solid for kids as young as 12, and could be ready for kids by October. 100 percent open those high schools and middle schools this Fall, no masks, leggo.

- New push mower being purchased this week. As long as it's a self-propelled with a Honda engine, the rest is gravy. But I'll still accept recs.

I agree we go overboard with the whole “we got screwed” angle EVERY year but it’s hard to argue otherwise in 2011 (should have been a 2 or 3 and got the last 4 in toughest region), 2015 (why wasn’t Duke and Wisconsin playing in F4), and 2017 (3 top8 teams in one region, including arguably 2 of best 3 teams with us and UNC).

No reason for other recs. Get that SP Honda, have it serviced every spring/fall, and it will outlast you.

Gonzaga has beaten the **** out of every single team that has been put in front of them this year (WVU was arguably an exception). I hope they win it all. If we want CBB to “normalize” again, I think they need to.

Also takes even more dignity and pride away from Indiana, which, as we have established previously, sucks.

Man to hell with Gonzaga.

In 2003 a Baylor player murdered his teammate and is up for parole this year. Scott Drew took over that job at its lowest point possible and has stayed there earning this moment.

Houston hired Kelvin Sampson who had 2 minor run ins with the NCAA one of which included getting ran from IU over texts in a dead period.

Either of those options work for me, and if Johnny Juzang went for 50 on Gonzaga causing us to hear even more piling on to John Calipari I’d appreciate that too.

You can only play who’s in front of you. And even that doesn’t guarantee anything. For example, I know a team that only had to beat Davidson, Buffalo, Kansas State and Loyola-Chicago to get to a Final Four and couldn’t do it. Crazy.

Yeah, Cal’s 3rd worst team here. Look at who our contenders had to play.

It’s ok to hate Cal and UK basketball and acknowledge Gonzaga’s soft ride.

Gonzaga is so much better than everyone else, I'm just not sure it matters if they got an easy path. I think they probably would've made them all look easy.

- Their ride was/is easy, but they more than proved themselves during the regular season. WVU, Iowa, Kansas, and Virginia, and only WVU (which had OSCAR at the time) stayed within single digits. They'll be a worthy champion, assuming they land this plane.

- I want Gonzaga to win because it means we won't hear so much about 1976 Indiana anymore. And because it's a style of play that I want more coaches (not just Cal) to embrace going forward. Houston vs. UCLA would make for some decent old Alcindor/Hayes throwback features, but it's a rockfight that nobody actually wants.

- Hey guys, remember baseball? It starts tomorrow.

- Coles tonight. Some go to Florida for Spring Break....we go to Main Street in Lexington for an agreeable meal and an Arnold Palmer.
