What the f*** are you idiots talking about? F*** Pitino. He was an incredibly good coach here. Maybe the best ever for those years.

He's also a loathsome piece of **** who only cares about Rick Pitino and he openly sabotaged the University of Kentucky for the better part of two decades. Also, who in the f*** does he think he's kidding with that shoe polish in his hair?

F*** him.

How tf did he openly sabotage the University of Kentucky "for the better part of two decades" when Cal absolutely owned his *** for one of those decades...?

Of course he's a loathsome, narcissistic human being, but he's an incredible coach and college basketball is better with him in it.

Pitino was well on his way at Keightleys Memorial. His speech was unreal. But of course he screwed things since. BUT he gave me my greatest title in sports ever in 96, so I forgive him. You win a title at Kentucky and give me a ring, you pretty much can do anything going forward. Now John, he’s a different story. He owes me another one.

I've been over Pitino hate since 2012. I think he's the best college coach of our era, and he brought UK back from DEATH during the best Fan Era of my lifetime, which will never be repeated. And he loves UK, and never misses a chance to speak fondly of us, or his time here.

That ****'s dead, man. He's coaching f'ing IONA, after being in Greece (and winning another title in Year 1)

Is he a POS? Sure. He's just Pitino, and he's an integral part of this program's history - he's good with me.

No. F[_]ck, Rick Pitino.

*he reallly would've loved the narrative that Rick Pitino rejuvenated UK and not a bit the other way. He's a badass for sure, but entertaining the thought that he gave a **** about the program as opposed to himself is really simple.

Re: Pitino at Keightley’s memorial.
It seemed like he realized what he gave up when he went to the memorial. He knows he could have stayed at UK and won multiple titles and he would be eulogized just like Keightley was. He had the air of a man full of regret.

But then he banged ****** in a restaurant booth and destroyed the UL program.

I think CBB is better with Rick in it

Karen Sypher tried to hire my former firm to defend her when the feds were investigating her. She apparently offered sexual favors to my former boss, who was a cool 70 years old and regularly **** his pants in the office, and then hugged the female associate and whispered "help me."

Per the latter attorney, those beefers were like balloons.

ANYWAY In this Lenten season some of y'all need to learn forgiveness, atkot.

He was the coach during my formative years and crushed it here. I’m good with him. Also, Pitino basketball camp was as close as I’ve been to Heaven so there’s that. The guy gave me a signed ball in front of everyone for winning the hotshot championship, I was in awe. Get over it boys, he’s a HUGE part of our history.

Well in the spirit of unpopular opinions in Gyero, I generally don’t have the ability to separate a person’s morals/ethics from their professional abilities/success as a barometer of my approval of them.

I hero worshiped Pitino and was heartbroken when he left for the pros. Then when he took the Louisville job, he was dead to me. I don’t care how good a coach he is, he is a cheater, both in his personal life and in sports and actually if you are cheating, how good at your job are you really?

It serves him right if he regretted leaving UK, and it might actually have saved us from another scandal in the long run. Cheaters gonna cheat when the going gets tough. I hope he loses every game he ever coaches forever.

“When Cawood left we lost the soul of this University, when Bill left we lost the heart.” That was my favorite line from the Memorial and the moment I stopped hating Pitino. Don’t get me wrong I wanted him to lose every game while he was at UL, and I will forever think he is a selfish SOB, but I was able to put that behind me and be grateful for what he did here.

  • Enjoying some high proof rye. This stuff is magic. Dark, spicefest. Cant stop coming back to it. Complex.
  • Of course the tile I chose for my speakeasy project is Spanish, costly, beautiful and discontinued with 1/3 of my order missing. First disaster.
  • Making beef Wellington tomorrow.
  • BJ Boston and his ilk are a residue of what is wrong with Cal’s system. Whores.
  • I stopped watching tourney. No interest
  • the talent level in the NBA is at an all time high. Triple Doubles are everywhere.
  • How on earth is Indiana Jones and TOD PG-13, murder everywhere.
  • Way out ahead of ogling Lily’s sweater puppies.

Pitino left for one of the few jobs you leave Kentucky for. $50 million and control of a storied franchise.

Cool

UofL was at the right place at the right time. Who else wanted Pitino? UNLV and Michigan? I would have picked the Cards also.

Squirt to the ceiling? Banging whores? Whatev.

I guess the tattoo pissed me off the most but realized that was pure Kwadinals.

Pitino is one of the best period. Hell, if the Kentucky job opened up tomorrow? Hell yes I would be all for taking him back with one condition...

He agrees to tattoo removal via laser. He agrees to new tattoo of classic penis tongue UK logo.

Historic 16 seed Loss
Natty
13 Seed Loss

That's a helluva "3" year stretch.

-Harmon has been on Kihei Clarke's balls for 3 years...tried to tell him, that dude is basically Skinny Brandon Stockton when he doesn't have Ty & Kyle to help him stay invisible.

Weirdest 3-4 year PG for an annual Top 10 team I can ever think of. He could suit up for LexCath tomorrow and nobody would bat an eye.

Virginia was the most fortunate champ I can recall. Lots of weird **** had to happen for them to win.

That’s college basketball- a weird bounce, an all-too-common **** whistle can completely change a game.

All that is true, but they were also a #1 seed, and had the best record in the ACC for like a 4 year stretch, which as much as I hate his style, is pretty incredible given who he's up against. They had some breaks, but also made some seriously clutch plays, especially Guy.

He's in that Beard category -- obviously a brilliant coach, but not for me.

Fun Fact: UVA is incredibly one of only 5 teams to earn a #1 seed 7 times (4 of those w/ Bennett), and only UVA & KY have earned a #1 seed in all 4 regions.

No doubt about it but something doesn’t translate to March - some numbers nerd can please explain.

I don't think you need numbers. March is ultimately about scoring, guards, and big runs.

Teams get hot, and they aren't equipped to "keep up" when that happens, by nature of their style.

They just happened to have the perfect team with 2 vet studs out front with Jerome/Guy, and a Lotto pick on the wing in Hunter, and a perfect college big/Eraser in the middle with Diakite...and a nice supporting cast around them.

They were the best team imo, got some breaks, and then capitalized on them - in a pretty (historically?) weak year for CBB.

I mean, they were 35-3, 16-2 in the ACC. And they just had to beat Purdue in the E8 (miracle), short-handed Auburn in the F4 (lucky + clutch) and then Texas F Tech for the Natty, so...we basically agree.

Yeah, that was a miracle - edited and noted.

-Pumped to watch my boy Jaime Jaques tonight. How is that kid not on draft boards or buzzing? He's got that nasty Hispanic game, feet always moving + dribble always alive. He's 6'6, bouncy, sick handle/feel, great stroke, and no conscience.

Took him O13.5 pts.
