No we see how your folks handled it last time. Flying colors, bubba. Just pop a few BLM signs in the front yard to feel real good about yourself while ignoring 6 months of idiots destroying 25 years of downtown revitalization.
Rich, we hit Grind burger, Taste Bourbon and Wine Bar, Repeal, Peerless. I didn't visit the beer garden. Was it behind the homeless camp or next to the all the buildings with all the windows busted out?
If you go to Main St and Whiskey Row, it's absolutely nothing like it was last year. I'm sorry that offends you all. Reminds me of downtown Cincy, tbh.

-game: nice to see the kids happy. Weird vibes in rupp, obviously. Not bad...was kinda nice not to have to mess with a crowd.
-west main crafting, highly recommended:
1st course was exceptional:wagyu marrow bone.
2nd course:house made beef sausage w/fermented garlic rice...some nice pickled cabbage.
3rd course: not a dessert guy...but the lemon pudding cake was the best "restaurant" dessert ive had in years.
"Pour-over" coffee was nice.
Others did hanger steak/sobu noodles. They enjoyed.

-*really* glad to see downtown lex busy. Parking was difficult. Lotsa people out enjoying themselves.

Markle was a c-list actress who recognized her career was one step from her having to fight to be on an MTV Challenge. She hit the literal lottery with a long-term plan to marry into the most newsworthy families on the planet and then get out as soon as possible while profiting off of them for as long as possible.
It is a mess but last summer's protests are NOT the major contributing factor. It's the overnight disappearance of daytime population (i.e. office users) that steer the entire downtown economy.
As an anecdotal example, my neighbor is the director of a large corporate real estate finance department in one of towers. Around 20 people under him. They haven't been in the office in a year and have focused on a September 1, 2021 return date as a goal.
That story x1,000 is why businesses down there are done or suffering. Like you aptly noticed, it's a ghost town because the professional community is working from home. Also, that big building with the Yum! signage hasn't hosted anything but partially attended college basketball in the same timeframe.
That **** matters when both drive ALL OF IT.

Nobody is excusing what happened last June but people acting like downtown Louisville is still boarded up and a raging dumpster fire is ignorant. I’m here 5 days a week, friends of ours own a business in NuLu and I patron establishments occasionally on the weekends.
