Do we still do randoms here?, Randoms:

- I made a really bleak post last week about how I thought this year would probably be **** again, but even I didnt think we'd be looking at the shenanigans of yesterday.

-If I receive a gift card for something, I either use it within a couple of days or forget about it and sits in a drawer and it ultimately expires. No in-between, really.

-Made the goal to work out at least 183 days this year, just to say I was active on more days than not. Declined to do the "75 Hard" Challenge with a few of my buddies bc it just seemed filled with silly requirements. In short, you have to:
1. Workout 2 times a day for at least 45 minutes, one of those workouts must be outside.
2. Abstain from any alcohol
3. Read 10+ pages of non-fiction every day
4. Maintain a certain diet
5. Drink a gallon of water a day
6. Take a daily "progress pic"
If you miss any step on any given day, you start back at 1 (Brian Mcknight)
After I looked into it, thinking it just seemed like some random ideas thrown together, I realized the guy who constructed it was neither a physio, dietician, or in any way a health expert. But there seem to be a ton of people jumping on board with it. People may believe anything if you just pretend you know what you are talking about.

- A little over a year out of my 40th birthday and the pipe dream would be a big time golf trip. Thinking one of either Bandon Dunes, Pinehurst, or Scotland if my wife allows. Surely 2022 will be back to normal?

- Glad Anth has latched onto fly-fishing, jumping in headfirst. It's a way more pretentious form of fishing, so I'll assume he will be bad-mouthing spin fishermen as cane-pole losers as soon as he hits the water a couple of times. Still think I can show him enough high-priced equipment and attire to get him out shooting birds on the reg, too.

- A bit surprised Pruitt isnt out at UT yet. Surely they get rid of him, whether its the right move or not.

-The "Deadly Game" documentary on Richard Jewel was much better than the movie that came out about him last year. Its a bit long but the story and details are much more developed and the acting is actually better. HARD RECCOMEND.

-mrs rudd bought me an assortment of cheese/meat/honey/fig jam that was accompanied by a zoom cheese tasting class. Did that last night. All the cheeses were nice but the moliterno al tartufo was the star of the show. Sheep's milk/black truffle. Holy crap it was incredible. Dont sleep on comte...that was delicious as well: this slice had notes of onion and wild rose. Cheese.

Knox marcus welby Kevin Durant compared to Boston.

The biggest shock to me is how slow & unintelligent he is. Wayne said yesterday he's one of the few guys who can get his own shot...but, is he really? He can't get around or by ANYONE at this stage, which is why he ends up with so many incredibly awful attempts. It's a combo of him being slow, too much lateral movement, and just being dumb & underestimating college defenders.

Watch Allen read screens & defenders, utilize fakes, and other basic basketball **** to get himself open - and he's basically a stiff in comparison.

If we're being honest, Askew may be the best player we have in terms of being able to get a GOOD shot on his own.
Goes back to why I was saying he needs to keep things simple. Don't get lost off the ball on D, get some boards and trash buckets, finish in transition, move without the ball and shoot in rhythm and on balance.

Instead, he basically just waits for the ball, then makes some weak *** AAU move that gets blown up by a more experienced defender and has to settle for off balance circus BS.

I usually roll my eyes at the old heads ranting about AAU culture but Boston is a manifestation of that. He is only a threat or interested when he has the ball.

If my wife ever gets me a gift that involves a zoom class, she should just go ahead and file the EPO because I'll backhand the **** out of her.

-Yeah, focusing my 'rona energy on something more productive but I'd shoot some birds. I just need a venue and an invite. It's just not going to be a "hobby" for me. Where fishing is something I already love so easy transition to a way more snobby for with endless cool **** to buy and really awesome places to go.

-I do about half of those things daily already. Worked out 280+ days last year including (2) 10 day stretches when I couldn't do anything b/c of injury. 368 total hours. I read only NF. Drink close to a gallon of water. I'm not abstaining from booze and my boy bonz takes enough progress pics for all of us combined.

-Part 3 Chapter 7 of Pappyland best sums up being a Kentuckian in written form. Next chapter gets a little weird when he lets everyone know how "not racist" he is BUT that chapter 7 is FANTASTIC.

-Love all you, even though y'all so wrong on politics. Even the NLC. We'll certainly figure it all out next argument.

I noted to a friend during the game that he couldn’t beat Vandy’s No. 4 off the dribble. That was the kid who looked a bit overweight. It was stunning that he could not beat him off the bounce.

- I’ve jumped headfirst into LEGO with my kids at this point and now I’m developing a case of LEGO mania myself. Their margins are insane, but the resale market is reasonable (as a seller), easy, and robust.

- I joined a Far Side Fans Group on FB and am astounded by the sheer number of people who do not get the jokes. These are people who self selected as Far Side fans and they offer incorrect interpretations of the punchlines in the comments. I also highly recommend this year’s daily calendar (haven’t had one in 20 yrs).

- I added “Christmas-ey Chocolates” to the grocery list and ended up with a bunch of Lindt (but nowhere near enough to cover a stretch of holiday evening grazings). Luckily, mom came through on Christmas morning with a goodly selection of Reese’s and Hershey’s fare.

Barstool posted this video of a 6’10 Freshman African kid, who plays at Bath County. It seemed strange that there would be some elite prospect in Bath County that no one has mentioned so I looked them up.

They lost their only game against a bunch of home schoolers and he had 2 points and 1 rebound.

All of this political talk got me thinking "*uck you and Mitt Romney."

LOL, suppose to be basketballs in here and do not know how to have more possessions than the other team. Here I will help you.
1. Win the rebounding battle on both ends of the floor. You hold them to one shot winning on the defensive end, you out rebound them on the other end, by getting offensive rebounds (more possessions off of your misses compared to one attempt at their end)

2. Win the turnover battle. Less turnovers from you and more from them, = more possessions for you. TaDa.

The dude from Houston seems like another very good SCORER, and can score from all 3 levels and create his own. But he has to get shots (volume) to do it. Not real efficient,. This is not the place to come if you want volume shots unless your name is Jamal Murray or Malik Monk.

Been mentioned a few times but those practice shorts are fire. Why not mimic those?

Oh well- very happy to have Brooks back.

Big MAGA church pastor from Owensboro was at the Capitol yesterday and keeps shooting out dumb tweets. The responses are gold though.

“The Deep State is apparently much bigger than any of us ever imagined.”

“The balls deep state is in your wife” is the first reply.

Edit: Wasn’t the MAGA church Owensboro pastor as I was told. Was a MAGA church pastor in Tennessee.
