Chad brought up Simmons’ Rewatchables a few weeks back and I started listening almost daily. I really enjoy when he breaks down 80’s and 90’s movie classics that I grew up with.

My only complaint is he brings on these fng millennials to break down 80’s and 90’s films and they just can’t help themselves. They lack the ability to take stuff back in those eras for what they were and of course they are the smartest generation ever to grace the earth so they want to make fun of fashion, music and other nuances of
that era.

Yesterday I was listening to the Blue Chips episode. Some smart *** points out that Nick Nolte is ZOMG DRINKING HIGH C in a particular scene. LIKE, WHO DRINKS HIGH C? I GUESS SOCIETY DIDNT REALIZE SUGAR WAS BAD FOR YOU BACK THEN. HAHAH. IM SO CUTE AND FUNNY.

Why don’t you just STFU you smarmy dipshit and come up with something original other than.. INJECT INTO MY VEINS, HOLD ME BEER, OR UNICORN!

There were a lot things that didn’t make sense in the 80’s and 90’s but youth just lived and didn’t get all our creativity, or lack thereof, from a hot damn computer. Girls had hair pie back then, people were smoking heaters in offices and work places and grown men dressed like grown fng men. Some of it was good and some of it was bad but it was a simpler time and a blast.

Unspooled is similar to the Rewatchables but done in a little bit more serious vein. Paul Scheer and some lady talk about well known movies. It’s a decent listen after you have listened to all the Rewatchables of movies you know.

How Did This Get Made is another good one about bad movies. But I don’t recognize some of the movies they review.

Dontaie Allen went 7-8 from 3 last night.

Allen goes 7-8 from three in a real game he should have the authority to walk over to Cal when the game ends and fire him. Or at least pull off Cal's head and reveal it's been Scratch coaching the last 3 years.

You would think having a guy floating around on the perimeter that defenses have to respect would open up driving lanes for others, but I'm just a stupid ***** Basketball Bennie, so what do I know?

The thing that's important to remember about Cal's offense (the DDM) is that it's THE preferred offense of the NBA. And we're a "PLAYERS FIRST" program. It's all about them and their dreams, and getting prepared to go make a ton of money at the next level.

Meanwhile...

Milwaukee beat the defending East champs by 47 last night, and knocked down an NBA all-time record 29 three pointers.

Milwaukee Bucks set NBA 3-point record in blowout of Miami Heat (espn.com)

(totally irrelevant stat, i guess)

-Dave Portnoy was an insufferable dudebro to me pre 2020...but the man has shown his quality. Cheers, Barstool.

-Pat McAfee is the best Barstool alum. Not debatable. He had Stone Cold Steve Austin on a week or two ago and if you don't get a giant grin on your face watching that, well, f*** you.

-I got a handmade desk for Christmas and it is my favorite gift of all time. Slouching on the couch over a laptop was destroying my lower back, and two hours in my new spot and I feel brand new.

-As much as I'd like to defend my generation against Richie's claims, he is 1000% on the money on retrospective pods like Simmons'. Too much snark from my fellow millennials. Also...if any other millennials can't remember absolutely chugging Hi-C, they lived horrible sheltered childhoods. I remember LOVING some Ecto-Cooler. I also remember my brother dropping a jug of red Hi-C with the lid not *quite* on in the kitchen and hearing my mom cuss for the first time. Heady times, the early 90s.

-Cheers to the new year, GYERO. May 2021 bring us many good takes and fewer GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOs.

I like Bill Simmons, but I absolutely loathe his proclivity to hire and promote a bunch of smarmy hipsters. Fortunately, Ringer’s most successful podcasts consist of him, Cousin Sal, House and Rusillo, and Simmons is starting to get the picture. That, and his hipster staff went Union on him which had to have pissed him off.

Cousin Sal sucks. Have no clue what that guy provides. Green at riding coattails, I suppose.

You can hit play on all the remaining videos and let them all play in the background on mute, simultaneously.

Not that I did that, just saying you can do that.

The NYT Crossword app is pretty damn awesome/addictive during phone calls/CLE, fwiw.

Any other law balls playing CLE videos in the background as they work on something mindless? Cutoff is tomorrow, 8 more hours to go.
Let’s just say I’m paying as much attention as I do when I attend live.

Except that one particular KY Court of Appeals presentation, of course. Dude had that “I’m one foot out the door and you MFers don’t know it yet” look about him.

While I'm not at PTI's level, my brother bought me an autographed copy of The Genesis 6 Conspiracy: How Secret Societies and the Descendants of Giants Plan to Enslave Humankind for Christmas. I graciously said thanks and pretended to read it. He apparently thought that meant that I was going to do anything other than throw the 700 page piece of **** in the nearest trash can and has been asking me pointed questions since to see if I read it.

Here's the opening sentence:

"What would you do if you discovered the end times and the Antichrist were somehow interconnected with giants, modern conspiracy theories, aliens, vampires, secret societies, and fairies?"

There is no irony thereafter.

No wonder you suck as a Podunk town lawyer. You wouldn't know the truth or a lie if it smacked upside your like 9 inches of limp dick.

LOL, at the fake "box score". Sarr did not take a shot and shot 1 free throw. I know, sorry to ruin the joke.

I say we trot out Toppin, Allen, Mintz, Ware, and Jackson against Messy State.

Do any of you gambo's know the tout "College King Rex" ? He used to post over at Covers for years, then moved to Costa Rica and worked at a booking shop there. Dude was cool as hell and knew his ****. He was from Lexington, so I figured somebody might.

-When's the last time we played NC State in anything? I can't remember ever playing them in either sport. Never had an issue with the Wolfpack. Nothing but respect dealing in close proximity with those two insufferable douche bag schools.

-I'll take 860 credit score lady, makes sense.

-Bob isn't hard to love, he's actually really easy to fall for. Now DrX is a bit repetitive sometimes.

-Surf and Surf tomorrow night. Lobster tail and crab cakes. Why not? Wash down with some Shrambsberg.

-Moleskine for my everyday notes and to-do lists. No exceptions. 2 pages per week.

-Aside from dipshit politicians truly believing they can stop a highly contagious virus by shutting schools down, missing March Madness, portions of our business being forced closed for a few months, our basketball team being ****, Reds blowing it, football having a meh season, Woodford passing... it wasn't all bad. Brought a new little dude into the mix that loves to sleep at night, Holidays worked out pretty well, family all in good health, biz is good. So I'll take it. Obviously, pretty fortunate compared to a lot of folks losing loved ones or businesses.
