I'm not sure if its because I'm getting older, or I just don't care as much as I once did, but games like last night use to really effect me. Id have trouble going to sleep, be mad the next day, and general be pissed at the world until I had my 24 hour cool off.

Now, I just turn the game off, even if there 8 minutes left in the half, and just go to bed, going right to sleep and not even angry.

Is that because I don't care as much or that I just don't believe we ultimately have a chance to win a Final Four?
In bold is your answer.

73 must've missed the part where we had Cade Cunningham locked up and Oklahoma State dropped a bag. Same thing with Zion. Cal is recruiting fine but coaching like ****.

Tired of excuses in recruiting. Kids were getting paid in 2009-2015.

No excuses. Close the sale. If you're getting screwed on the recruiting trail, maybe stop hiring your old golfing buddies as assistants.

You're right about the coaching like **** part.

Things really took a turn when Tony Barbee joined the staff. That turn was a turn towards the pooper.

Quick vents...

*A staple with Cal's teams is that we are often playing guys out of position. Jackson is a college 5, EJ was as well you can find examples going all the way back to Trey Lyles.

*I could live with a lot of what Askew is or isn't if he was the shooter he was billed to be.

*Boston is so weak with the ball in traffic, I would almost just rather see him pull up over defenders (and brick) than continue to drive and turn it over.

*I don't know if I could handle Clarke at point guard, the dude is all over the place with his handles.

*I ask this with all seriousness, when run to perfection what does this offense look like? 2012? Even that was a slog at points.

*All our good shooters under Cal have been guys that just tune him out and don't hesitate. Monk, Young, Harrison, DLamb.

*A kid like Juzang would be valuable to this team.

*Kind of needed a good/fun basketball team in the midst of all this covid stuff and the football team imploding. 2020 isn't done with us yet.

I'd feel a lot better if I trusted Cal's process during the early season in terms of identifying who should and shouldn't be playing.

Instead of looking at who deserves time, I feel as if he's already determined who NEEDS to be playing and therefore allows them to suck balls on the court hoping they'll learn from their mistakes. All while other equally or more productive guys are predetermined to have a short leash.

It's goddamned maddening and makes the games nearly unwatchable.

Apparently Cal posts on the college basketball subreddit. Heard a lot of sunshine pumping "but these kids are reaching their dreams!" and lecturing about being patient because the team is so young. Don't piss on my face and tell me it's raining, who's f***ing fault is it that the team is so young?

I know 2015 broke me, maybe it broke Cal too. I don't know. But I'm tired of his ******** and his lecturing and his pretending this is fun. GTFO.

Ha - Covid sports have been great to dad:

- Reds hit like .210 all season and didn’t score a run in a ******** postseason appearance.

- UK football has been a huge disappointment.

- Bengals lol - only reason to watch got his knee torn off.

- And now this nonsense - the poop icing on a **** cake. Even better because our only returning player has some vague injury that will likely keep him out until April when he declares to sign a free agent contract with the Rockets and ends up playing pro ball in Papua New Guinea.

-people will put up with cal's "players first/poop ice cream/you people are crazy/draft night is the biggest" dog and pony show...as long as he's winning or *at a minimum* he's producing an entertaining product.

-while im I'm the "it's all about march" camp re: cbb, the regular season has to be fun/played at a watchable level.

^none of that stuff is happening. The natives are justifiably restless. Prolly a good time to stop chastising/belittling the fan base, John.

-glad everyone is seeing it as it is now. Prescience is a gift...y'all should listen to brooks and me more often.

I think I’m with Chad on the Ga Tech game. I’ve never done this including going to great lengths in college 10 hours away finding a sports bar in the late 90’s with a satellite to catch the Cats but I’m out.

The Lil Lassies are so excited about Christmas and all things Santa and the North Pole I’ll get much more pleasure taking them to this Winter Wonderland Illuminating Lights deal in The Parklands. To see their reactions to these things is magical and more enjoyable than seeing some ******* in a cheap windbreaker scream at kids while they throw up brick after brick and disgrace the game of basketball.

-First of all, can it with the "oh I just don't care anymore" ********. It's horseshit and you know it. You all went to bed pissed as a rattlesnake and woke up anxious and depressed. If you didn't get pumped and exit the conversation.

-Kansas is awful. Ravaged by the FBI scandal and yet still beat a normal Cal team. That's pretty brutal. We should've beaten that team by 20+. Just about any of his teen teams would've destroyed that team. Especially with Covid Garrett slouching around.

-Watching Self adapt in game and go small 5 out was a bit frustrating. Cal gonna ram that damn square peg into the round hole regardless.

-2nd half 16 minute mark piece of **** lineup, right on queue. I know you all are just noticing this but it's been my biggest irritation for 10+ years.

-Sarr has to be better. He plays 30 minutes and we win. Gotta have him, Mintz and Brooks stabilizing the young guys while they find their footing.

-Clarke running the offense needs to start. Askew is a multi year guy and way off. Picking the ball up 1 ft across the line is not great, bob.

-What do we do when Brooks is back? I'd have a hell of a time sitting Jackson.

I read about a lot of things on Reddit but sports is certainly not one of them. Those nerds are only good for an occasional meme and uploading videos of PPV events as soon as the end.

I sincerely want the basketballs in here to explain the Cal is stuck in the 90's caveman argument because *checks jon scott*

Cal beat UK 92-82 in November, 1995 while AT UMASS...

Yeah: I'd sure hate to have that rascal back.

That subreddit is usually pretty damn good, but I think I realized last night most of the posters are so young they don't remember watching Chuck Hayes in 2003 like I do.

@anthonys735, you're right; I still care. I just wish I didn't.

- Lol when Brooks is back, Cal will start him at the 3, negating his strengths and further ****-burgering our offense.

- And wtf is Cal talking about with the schedule? This isn’t a John Chaney/Denny Crum land mine field. It’s four fringe Top 20-25 squads, ND and a ****** Georgia Tech outfit.

We have too many players. Our coach can’t handle the math. Recruit two people a year. That’s it. If you can’t field a team, fill it in with transfers or something. Start the season with 7 bodies and some student managers to run practices.

People will generally grin and bear slow starts, cake-baking and whatnot, IF:

1. We get a March pay off. That means F4s and championship shots, not Elite 8s.

2. It’s not an annual occurrence.

Or there is some semblance of a plan. It’s more bearable when we’re able to see what we could be.

I don’t like what I see when I project forward a couple of months. I don’t think Cal has any idea what to do with this bunch. He’s flying by the seat of his pants.

PS - I didn’t like what we were last year either. When the head coach loses his PG, especially at that point of the season, things usually don’t work out well. Cal needs to get it together or go do studio broadcasting, no cap.

I'd go:

Clarke
Toppin
Brooks
Jackson
Ware

Wow, can you imagine the length and toughness of that lineup?

-It doesn't take me long to find "my guy" each season. Sorry Boston, but you're it -- so please don't read GYERO if you're a little ***** **** in real life like you are on the court. Touching bum.

Warms my heart to hear people bash that lionel richie looking kid. It truly does. I took a lot of crap for writing BJ off before I even saw him play.
