I’m not watching the Georgia Tech game- which makes the third time in 3 years I’ve taken an early season break from a team I’d been dying to see play for 8 months. I’ll check in for Notre Dame and if I see F’ing Devin Askew starting, I’m logging off again.

And I’m not watching our disease-ridden football team either.
Who Dey, wildcat friend!

I remember Cal explaining why he passed on some talented recruits early in his tenure here. Said they were takers, and that he only wanted givers on his team.

I liked that approach. Problem is, Cal has become a taker. He's taking way more from this program right now than he is giving it in return.

I think the villagers truly storm the gate after UofL boatrace us. The last domino to fall. This ain’t pretty and the fans have no affinity for any of the kids on the court in those ****** checkerboard uniforms.

Basketball Bennie & BillyJoe Wildcat have been ignored systemically for a solid 7-8 years. The fans like winning EVERY game by a lot. This ain’t that.

I mean we could end up being good, but I’m sick of Cal and his holier than thou ****. I don’t listen to him talk anymore, he’s a caricature of himself now.

I’m shocked recruits listen to his BS anymore. I genuinely don’t like the guy as much **** as he talks to his own fans.

Askew is older than Booker, Knox, and MKG as freshmen. Age isn’t his problem.

Of course it is, and anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot. If he stayed with his original class, he’d be a freshman next year instead of this one. And he’d have a MUCH better chance to succeed and to help our team.

I’m not sure why this is so complicated for some of you.

I’m old enough to remember some of us on here thinking reclassifying was a red flag and we should avoid those situations

It reeks of Cal prioritizing getting a kid with NBA talent here just so the guy will eventually look good on Cal's NBA player resume rather than getting the kids here who are best able to win college basketball games.

I wish I could fail at anything I do daily just to prove to the people that depend on me if they’d only do things my way we’d all succeed.

I wish!

He’s saying that 99% of the time these reclassified kids are just going back to their original classes after being redshirted by their ****** families. I don’t see why that’s so complicated.

He's 18 years old and has been since the Summer.

If you're argument is that the team would be better with 19 and 20 year old's then say that, but those people are called sophomores and junior.

Guys like Askew, Clarke, and Boston are being held back when they're younger and then graduating "early" with their original class.

"If I was Bill Self, I would be so happy because my team was held to 29% from the floor and 23% from 3, and they won. I love that type of game, to slog it out"

What's that old saying, "when someone tells you who they are, believe them?" Right after the game he doubles down and boasts about how much he *loves* a game like that.

Best to accept that he's not going to adapt with how the game is played today and we're going to get that mid-90's style of play good and hard so long as he's on the sidelines.

Ok well for two games in a row now our little kid point guard has looked like ****, and he’s been thoroughly outplayed by grown *** men who didn’t have his recruiting clout as children. They just happened to be adults who are currently significantly better basketball players.

I wonder if our head coach realizes that?

He’s played 1 year against kids his own age. He played 10 years against kids younger than him. Why is this hard to comprehend? He’s not used to the bump up in talent and age level.

Askew strikes me as someone who was just a significantly better athlete than his competition in high school, which hid the fact that his shot is junk and he has trouble not turning it over.

Askew has been training with Clarke and Boston all summer and before that he was training with Russell Westbrook and Darren Collision. I don't think he's shocked by playing with older guys.

(The confusing thing is they all said they love him. I think he's just a nice kid who works hard or his parents have a lot of money or something.)

Isaiah Jackson is only 5 months older than Askew. BUT ITS AN IMPORTANT 5 MONTHS I GUESS!

Lance Ware is a 19 year old freshman and getting ready to turn 20. He still sucks too.

I've been convinced for years that that dumbass timed 3-point drill that Cal uses in practices is what makes us bad shooters. It's not game like and causes them to rush.

Czabe has a theory that there is a game in a good coaches that haunts coaches and changes them into panic. I think 2015 Wisconsin changed Cal and I'm not sure he will ever be the same.

I'm not sure if its because I'm getting older, or I just don't care as much as I once did, but games like last night use to really effect me. Id have trouble going to sleep, be mad the next day, and generally be pissed at the world until I had my 24 hour cool off.

Now, I just turn the game off, even if there's 8 minutes left in the half, and just go to bed, going right to sleep and not even angry.

Is that because I don't care as much or that I just don't believe we ultimately have a chance to win a Final Four?

Staying home all day with the boys while assisting with NTI work, that's the stuff that makes it tough to sleep and makes me mad the entire next day. Big props to you stay at home moms who deal with that **** day in and day out.
