You are either a UK fan or not, none of this ******** choosing to be ONLY if we are Final 4 material. That is some ***** *** bandwagon noise. Some old, gray haired, front row fan ****. Stay home and knit, reals don't need you.

Some of you are suppose to be basketballs, lol.

My main man Cam'Ron Fletcher needs to start. And come out to "Oh Boy" Special appearance by Jules Camara

Use that bench to teach, but also shoot more 3's. Word has it, people dick riding Allen, maybe need to stand back and look at the whole scene. he is not earning minutes.

Selling off the KSR website but retaining the podcasts seems like huge win. I never read the website, but is feels like it would be a headache to write for an manage whereas podcasting is fun as hell.

Let me know when you want a 10 year old, half complete, James Bond review podcast to join the stable, Matt.

I'm sitting around here disillusioned with the whole-*** sport of basketball so to get myself re-engaged, I've been watching a lot basketball "clinics" on the ol' computer since there really isn't anything meaningful I can do with my bunch until December 14th.

I decided to give Vance Walberg's Dribble Drive Motion a look over again, and let me tell you - that system has become about as antiquated as the Flex in this day and age. Here are the main points he emphasizes for using this offense:

1. Get more layups/points in the paint (60-70% from this area or ~1.3 points per possession.)
2. Shoot more FTs than the other team (70 - 75% from FT means ~1.4 ppp)
3. Great way to get offensive rebounds which give you extra paint touches/shot attempts.
4. Kickout 3s are good, but they are still only the 3rd option of this offense.
5. Standstill 3s are discouraged.
6. Long contested 2s are a cardinal sin.

"I like 3s, but I LOVE layups." - actual quote

Spacing, angles, and reads are a huge part of the DDM which can lead to beautiful basketball, but the primary goal of this offense is to attack 1st or DRIVE!!! If the player is cut off, the skip pass to the opposite wing is encouraged. To take a 3? Nope. After the skip, the defense will be late to close out, resulting in a perfect opportunity for the offensive player to DRIVE!!! 3s are a secondary or third level option.

Just spitballing here . . . but . . . in the second half of the Richmond game, I saw very few ball screens. I think Cal is going to eventually mold this team into a dribble drive unit with adjustments (I know, I know). The big adjustment, or "tweak" if you will, could be having a revolving door of who will initiate the offense. I think we'll see him attack the other team's weakest on-ball defender to start the offense, which is why we saw some of Boston and Clarke run "point" Sunday. Eventually, he wants the ball in Clarke's/Boston's hands to DRIVE!!! and attack. Maybe he does that with the skip pass to them at the opposite wing, or maybe he allows them to initiate the offense ala Wall/Rose. Who knows? We'll see.

I obviously know nothing about this stuff but I'm surprised the the KSR website alone is worth a lot without the radio show/podcasts/KSR brand included.

Cal said "Stick with the Dribble Drive, but we have to evolve with the game... let's add long 2s."

(Yes, I know we don't run the dribble drive and haven't in years.)

You can’t discount that the DDM in its prime wasn’t subject to the charge rules of today, or even close.

Back then it was essentially reversed, in that the offensive player had the “advantage” and you had to be TRULY set as a defender to draw.

Anything close was a block 80% of the time.

^ I absolutely think you can charge even if a defender isn’t set, but it obviously spiraled way out of control the opposite way years ago.

I love layups AND 3s. I like meatloaf. I like a casually comfortable pair of slide-on loafers. I like my Toyota Camry. I like my in-laws.

You get the picture.

0/10 from 3 = 0 points.
5/10 from inside = 10 points.

Maybe Cal knows this team is not going to be a 35+% shooting team from three. BUT also a big selling point of the DD is getting fouled and shooting a lot of FT's.

10/18 free throws = 10 points, but leaves about 5 points at the line. (Don't expect 100% FT %)
What made IQ so great, 43% 3pt shooting / 93% free throw %. IQ could play DD or any offense you wanted to run. Damn I miss IQ all ready. All we need is 3 IQ's, Jackson, and Sarr. Boom, Final 4.

Craziest part of it all is that they tried to fix the block-charge a few years ago and just got worse with it. I think they made the calls for about ten games, fans got mad about too many whistles and refs just went back to calling it a charge and let defenders hit guys.

Mom warned me and banned it early. Started sneaking and hiding it late middle school years like drugs...all the way through college. 4way was my brand of choice. Small bottle (half size of typical) and straight fire.

Haven’t used it in 15+ years. Honestly think
something else for my nose got me off it, which I also haven’t done in nearly as long, with a few SPECIAL exceptions.

About 5 years ago I used Flonase or whatever it’s called when I had a bad head cold to help me sleep. Used it about 10 days straight - worked great but lasted shorter and shorter each day. After I felt better I tried to stop using it but my nose would start getting unreal stuffed in the middle of the day to the point where I would be talking at work and it would sound like I was pinching my nostrils. Got to the point that after a month I would have to use it about every 3 hours just to breath. Went to the doctor finally (literally the only time I’ve been to the doctor my adult life) and he put me on some other stuff but I had to slowly ween myself off of the Flonase and he warned me not to quit cold turkey like he was talking to a heroin addict. Told me it was called “Flonase rebound” and acted like he saw it all the time. Haven’t touched the stuff since.

Aaaaand that’s your pregame Flonase story. You’re welcome and hopefully I can regale you with similar tales in the future!
