-Pappyland in the queue.

-Consistent workouts are notably more difficult with 2nd offspring. 😖 May have to become an at home 6am'r. Damn that's tough.

-Has anyone said not to do a Thanksgiving of <6? Not to defend the idiots but I believe eliminating large gatherings with people you haven't been around or from out of state would be the general idea. Hopefully no one thinks this means, just sit in your house alone with deli turkey and a gallon of cheap vodka. Get together with your people, if you're in the house, open a few windows and turn the heat up. Eat yourself stupid and drink some of Kentucky's finest bourbon. Enjoy.

- I can't do audiobooks. In fact one of my worst takes was Kindle > Paper. Switched back to paper a long time ago and dug in. Dying on this hill. Somethings, like the original mousetrap and paperclips, are just better the way they were originally designed. Been on podcasts a lot though, much better than an audio book. If I'm listening to someone talk I prefer a discussion.

-Wednesday sched, 8:15 zoom, 9:00 zoom, 10-12 zoom 🤮

-My only political take, I was promised a boring 4 years. Don't give me any ******** excuses, that was the promise. If I have to pay a little more for it, make it as boring as possible.

-Thanksgiving meal: Smoked Turkey Breast(or Spatchcock, really torn here), mashed potatoes, corn pudding, something green, stuffing, bread pudding. We've collected quite a few nice bottles of vino over the last 9 months so we'll be trying to eliminate those. Dress code, comfortable as you can be, preferably sweat pants with a lot of elastic. Have a couple nice comfy flannel shirts and some fury moccasins. Slacks, oxfords, coats, loafs are not allowed.

-G is flat our reading in Kindergarten. I know that wasn't standard when we were there. Skip, A-Z, 1-100, tie your shoes.

Talk me into audiobooks. Have never gone that route.

Honestly, I'm not a fan because for me it is a competition for podcasts. I love getting lost in a 2 or 3 hour podcast while doing yardwork or whatever. Books, since there are so much longer, don't work like that for me.

If I drove for extended periods of time I would probably feel differently.

All three Cats were steals last year. Will any of this year’s be? Could Maxey be better than 13-15? Will Quick prove to be better than a mid-second rounder? Will Richards be an NBA player?
1. I think that is exactly where Maxey will fall but teams will regret passing on him for the likes of Isaac Okoro and Devin Vassel. Not saying those guys won't be quality pros, I just think Maxey will be better.

2. It doesn't really matter where Quick goes. He'll make a team because of his work ethic and demeanor. He will continue to improve.

3. I think Richards will be a pro. It may be as a reserve big man but his improvement tells me he's capable of more. The development of the mid range jumper and the jump hook in the post will serve him well in the NBA. He needs to keep getting tougher though or he'll just get pushed out of the league.

One thing Cal doesn't get nearly enough credit for is his guys are pro ready when they leave UK. His guys enter the league with a professional mindset and are ready to contribute to a team atmosphere. Riley and Spoelstra have both spoken about it in regards to Herro and Bam.

It bottles my mind at the level of work kids are doing today, especially at such a young age. My 8 yo granddaughter, who is in 2nd grade, has been reading at a high level since KG. Also, the homework she has is way above what we were doing at that age. Adding/subtracting multiple numbers, science experiments, etc.

My guess is the fact that most kids have at least a year of pre-school and most daycares do a lot of early work with kids. Neither of which were prevalent when we were at that age.

Can't believe they are not going to re-open the Brent Spence Bridge until Christmas. If I was a struggling business or restaurant in Greater Cincinnati I would think I was cursed. People are not going to sit in a mess of traffic to cross the bridge to shop or dine out. Effectively cuts the market for businesses in half.
Guessing an unmarried male opinion.

An audiobook is only as good as the narrator. I had a data entry job in college and would rent the longest unabridged audiobooks from the library. Tom Clancy got me through a lot of hours.

The only players from last year that is on an NBA roster four years from now is probably Quickley, then maybe Richards. Maxey is blah to me.

Taylor Southgate takes you right into the old Newport Travel Lodge (which is now the new Newport Hampton Inn) so yeah people are gonna avoid that out of habit.

So it appears the high school football playoffs are still a full go according to the KHSAA. The caveat is “they are outdoors.” While that is good news, I have the ability to read into connotative diction. There’s a reason that little nugget was dropped.

Officially worried for Winter Sports.
Yeah everything we’re hearing via our coach who’s currently in quarantine is shall we say less than ideal

They also just said that if a team drops out in the semifinals or finals of the football playoffs, the TEAM THEY JUST BEAT gets to advance in their place.

Didn’t want to address this out of fear my eye roll would’ve been louder than PTI’s yesterday. Trying to prevent aftershocks.

At work, sometimes I walk through jobsites with a 360 camera on a stick to create weekly “Google Street View” type captures of the project. Don’t worry, with COVID, I get to look even cooler than that:

Now, I also do a pre-walk to remind all of the construction workers to have their mask on so they don’t get caught without it on camera.

It is a lot of fun and I can tell I’m very well liked by all.

We are using StructionSite’s platform with a Ricoh Theta, and OpenSpace.ai’s platform with an InstaOneX R.

For actual laser scanning, we use a Faro unit. Matterport warps the far corners and isn’t accurate enough for our needs.

Very cool stuff. Thanks for sharing. The struction site platform looks way faster than the Matterport for sure. I have used both the Theta and the full size Matterport camera. Just being able to walk around and not worry about how it stitches is awesome.

I would think that the future is either camera's on hardhats (like in the openspace video) or small devices that just continually grab and map. Maybe a Roomba with a camera.

-Used to do some disrespectful **** in NCAA football with a big lead. Mass substitutions. QB kneels. Punts on 4th and short. Anything to drive my opponent to the point of throwing the controller and leaving the room. Was the best.

-I don't do Audio books but downloading and reading on my phone has been a revelation. Been tearing through books since I gave that a shot and I hadn't read anything in years.

-I've read a lot of sales books recently and while I've picked up a few things I'm pretty convinced these people are all full of ****. I'm getting back to my default, natural self. I mean I don't think I've spoken to a single prospect as painstakingly difficult as these books make them or the process out to be. For God's sake, it's just not that hard, and if it is for some folks they simply need to do something else.

-I'm bored out of my F'n mind. Don't think I've ever felt so restless. RELEASE THE ******** VACCINE. Killing me would just be gravy at this point so let's get on with it. Win-Win.

I like them when running. But I have to listen to KSR first so I need enough Drive time to do that in a day before a run that would include a book. I like Chase’s idea and had no idea it’s actually a thing. I have a hard time reading because I fall asleep about 2 pages in (especially now w/newborn sleep).

-I vote spatchcock.

I think I’m going to make a broccoli casserole. Anyone have a good recipe? I’ll probably also make some basic green beans... but should they be haricot vert or old fashioned Allen’s green beans with ham? I also want some sort of squash dish. Be it butternut squash soup, roasted delicata or some other Pinterest-y thing I can find.

A friend brought us dinner last week with homemade yeast rolls. Those suckers were good. I may try to replicate.

Also Pumpkin pie.

I would prefer to be on the beach in Antigua. Next year.

-#2 has been greats so far. He’s quite agreeable and huge snuggle bug (currently napping on my shoulder while my cat naps on the other shoulder.) G is adjusting pretty well overall too which is good to see. I was worried about the 5 year age gap being too much, but it’s been great and he’s been super helpful. I can only imagine the craziness of having another kid with one less than 3 years old in the house.

-Madness Friday. Games next week.It just seems weird.

Definitely no craziness with an 18 month old, a 3 year old, and two parents trying to work from home in the middle of a pandemic.😑

Easily my #1 Thanksgiving side, worship -- and it's the only time I eat it every year, which is disappointing.

Welp, my kids were negative for the 'Rona.

They are now doing virtual learning until they get back from Thanksgiving, though. The school (K-8) had been open with zero cases since August 24. Now my 3rd grader's class has had 5 cases in the last week. So far, it is confined to the one class. Hopefully, it stays that way and we can get back to in-school learning in less than 2 weeks.

Read alot of sales books when I was younger as well. Total horseshit, unless you are selling vacuums door to door or something. I've learned that two things matter, relationships and paying people off. That's the list.

Deviled eggs as Indiana's favorite dish is fitting. Nasty ****.
