hmm what informs this take?

It seems to me that Sturgill is always getting into situations where he gets asked questions about how much of an outsider he is. And then he has answers such as the cock and cake thing, which makes his fans slurp him even more. So it's a schtick, which is kind of phony. I added the ***** thing for emphasis. That was probably a little over the top.

J Drummond any rumblings that UK game in Tuscaloosa may be moved to Dec. 12 and AL would makeup LSU game next week as that is only available date for LSU?

My firm has skybox and I had tickets for next Saturday but one of my folks said there was some chatter.

I get the same feeling when I go to a place like Iroquois Pizza. It's the Louisville of yester year.

Place is the ****. The Egnews are great people, Mike is a member at my club. For our golf trips, he packs a cooler w/ ingredients for 8-10 pizzas and whips them up in the Cabin. :fire:

Still don't understand the "ugly crust" though.

When EVH passed, read a story about him and Fred Durst. Some record producer tried to get them to collaborate. Anyway, EVH goes to Fred’s place and gets pissed off, leaves his equipment and storms off. When he calls and tries to get his stuff back, Fred won’t answer and blows him off. Then EVH rolls up to Fred house in an assault vehicle and holds a gun to Durst’s head and makes them load his stuff up... lol

A lot of buzz that could happen, but I think it's all speculation at this point. Even some talk that the SEC could move opponents around and UK doesn't play Bama at all.

Potential hot take Inc. Grunges big 4 was better than metals. Metallica is better than all of them but is carrying a ton of water for slayer and anthrax. Megadeth gets respect knucks for its early catalog but is approaching acdc territory by coming out with the same album multiple times over the past two decades.

hot take but a good one. Megadeth has always been overrated and boring to me. Thrash isn't my wheelhouse for metal generally, but you nailed this.

Also, Cat Scratch, you think ELSMERE is superior to Erlanger? Have you...been to Elsmere?

What does my swinging in Norton Commons have to do with Sturgill being a phony?

Seems odd to me to see someone call someone else phony when they come from a town of 2,000 and do not subscribe to the glitz and glamour of current pop country, or in general, mainstream anything.

The fact that you are in Norton Commons and known as white wayne has nothing to do with him as much as it has to do with the source of calling someone else phony.

Just comes off kind of like a take from PTI, TBH.

Speaking of bands that are made up, I could google it, but I don't know if "The Weekend" is a mumble rapper, a Jonas Brother, or a Gwen Stefani-type band.

EDIT: Looked him up. Dude from that Sandler movie.

  • I moved to Norton Commons before it was a cult
  • "White Wayne" is a very unfair nickname
  • Sturgill plays the game with "avoiding the glitz"... dude still goes on SNL and stuff

Or he’s a popular artist who just put out a new album and answered a question honestly. Have you ever watched a CMA Show? It’s awful.

Anth's music takes are 🤮

Sturgill has always been a misanthrope

I used to like Rudd, but going after STP like that is unforgivable

Got a little chilly this week. Still great fall weather though, and the forecast looks solid.

CBS Sunday Morning is a great show, one of my favorites. Pretty cool seeing a college buddy get a feature on it.

Slung some lead at the farm today. Deer rifle is still zeroed in.

The Lexington taco scene has really taken off over the last few years. Semns like every week a new place is opening up. Papi's is the best of the new ones.

Way to pull a IsRichi.....astart, Doc.

* Reading about the life and times of Eddie Van Halen over the weekend and came across this gem where he damn near slaughtered Limp Bizkit for refusing to return his guitar after a jam session...

“Eddie once bought an assault vehicle from a military auction,” Bennett writes. “It has a shine gun mount on the back and is not legal. Eddie drove that assault vehicle through L.A., into Beverly Hills, then parked and left it running on the front lawn of the house Limp Bizkit was rehearsing in. He got out wearing no shirt, his hair in a Samurai bun on top of his head, his jeans held up with a strand of rope and combat boots held together by duct tape. And he had a gun in his hand. I put my gun to that stupid f*king red hat of his, and I said, ‘Where’s my ****, motherf*ker?’😂

Weeknd is great, also real, and not music that makes you want to sit in a dark room with a needle full of heroine.

Negative. Elsmere is inferior to Erlanger, like Dayton is to Bellevue.

Alright MFer. I'll sit back for a week and let the arrogant know it all ******** in this thread show their ignorance on everything from food, music, professional sports and geography to Christmas trees.

But I'll be damned if I will stay quiet when some non River Rat tries to (incorrectly) weigh in on Dayton Bellevue discussions.

I'll defer to you in the Elsmere v Erlanger debate, even though I've always heard it the other way around. But do not try slinging falsehoods on the status of Northern Campbell County.

I never thought it was such a bad little tree. It's not bad at all, really. Maybe it just needed a little love.
