So there's a rest period after the completion of each lap (assuming one finishes the lap in less than 60 minutes)?

Yep. The faster you finish the lap, the more time you have to rest. But when the next hour starts, right on the dot, you’ve got to toe the line and begin another loop.

The race costs almost nothing, has no awards or prizes, and has grown very organically. Several world/national record holders in the field every year, and you win nothing more than bragging rights.

PTI - Didn't you do a race where you: Run a lap, slam a beer, run a lap slam a beer, and so on?

Thats called The Beer Mile, and it’s become something of a phenomenon. There are some rules — what you described, plus 5%+ abv, must run 1 penalty lap if you puke any number of times, and some others.

It’s hilarious how great of an equalizer booze can be. For example, on my very first attempt, I absolutely destroyed the fastest dude in town — former all-SEC runner, 4:02 mile personal record, etc.

But he can’t hold his beer like ole dad.

It took a little longer than expected but the moral superiority card was finally played for voting for a pedophile POS.

your pedophile is no better or worse than the D/R pedophile. One likes to touch and smell children the other likes to put on teenage beauty shows and walk into the changing room.

YOU DO NOT GET TO CLAIM TO BE MORALLY SUPERIOR BEFORE OR AFTER VOTING FOR EITHER OF THESE TWO *** HATS.

Seemingly intelligent/educated adults getting wrapped up in conspiracy theory nonsense has always been a thing. The number of seemingly intelligent/educated adults that openly want others to know they are wrapped up in conspiracy theory nonsense has to be a recent development.

My brother went down the conspiracy theory rabbit hole. It really, really sucks. Now we can barely have a normal conversation -- every topic inevitably leads to some crackpot theory about cabals of superrich people molesting kids. Which, admittedly, there is solid evidence that it does happen more than you would expect. It just is not the explanation for everything in the world.

In a related topic -- if anyone wants a good book recommendation, check out Chaos by Tom O'Neill. An author set out to write an article for a magazine about the 30th anniversary of the Manson Family Murders and stumbled into really good evidence that Charles Manson was actually a government guinea pig used in mind control experiments.

*THAT* would appear to be a crackpot conspiracy theory but O'Neill is a damn good investigative journalist and the evidence, in total, is highly compelling that he is right.

This guy who is being charged with manslaughter for killing his wife in a 4wheeler ( actually a side by side) accident is silly. He blew a .10. The guy was in the woods, private property and it rolled over on her.
That's actually pretty sober for riding 4 wheelers.

He’s a good friend & co-worker...an absolute great guy. It’s so damn sad.

3 kids including a 6 month old.

- I never understand how Fox, NBC, ABC, ESPN, CBS, etc. decide which celebrities are going to do the voiceovers for whatever major sporting event intro they're producing. Last night Fox went with Tom Brady, who has absolutely A) No connection to baseball, and B) The most boring, robotic voice ever. Other times networks have used Liev Schreiber and Tate Donovan. Either go with someone connected with the sport (maybe Vin Scully for last night), or go with Samuel L. Jackson. That's it. That's the list.

- Am I the only one who doesn't remember anyone "decorating" for Halloween as a kid, other than jack-o-lanterns and the occasional skeleton on the porch? Seems like every year more and more people put up lights or turn their yards into miniature haunted houses. I don't mind it, obviously...I think it's fun. It just seems to have become a thing out of the blue.

- Products I always wanted my mom to buy at the store as a kid, but she never budged: 1. Those variety packs of miniature boxes of cereal. 2. That "Goober Grape" stuff that was peanut butter and jelly combined in the same jar. 3. Funyuns. And now that I'm an adult and can buy whatever I want, I have zero interest in purchasing any of them myself.

- I was so amped up over the 2000 presidential election that I couldn't watch the returns, and instead went with my wife to go see a movie ("The Legend of Bagger Vance"), and then went to bed, so I could just wake up and find out who the next President was. NOPE. I fear the same will happen this time around...November 4th won't mean a thing.

- Rocking some tweed slacks today and my **** is looking TIGHT (or fierce for my homosexual friends or fire for my millennial friends).

- Today’s edition of “silly **** that annoys me”:

This corporate cliche of referring to anyone semi-successful as a “rock star” or using such phrase as a motivational technique

- I’ve found semi-educated “religious” moms to be the most easily manipulated by conspiracy theories. And cheesedick DOs.

- Man, Cats with a huge OOC game against Big 8 stalwart Mizzou on Saturday.

Re: halloween decorations

-people generally have more disposable income(at least that is their perception) these days. Plus "the left" is pro Halloween...as it is "of the devil".

-seriously, we(especially in the USofA) live in the safest most prosperous/comfortable time in human existence...which is not the natural state of humanity. At this point we manufacture crisis/drama...we cant have anything nice.

If Trump loses, he's gotta spill the beans about aliens etc, right? That would be the greatest presidential address that is possible. Not the greatest presidential address in history. The greatest presidential address possible.
The Deep State would have never trusted him with that information.
