Believe he was driving around the streets of Nashville butt naked and three sheets to the wind.

In a Trans Am I think.
I’m telling you, Alway and Forever: The Randy Travis Story will make for an awesome biopic or musical.
Will Ferrell as Randy Travis.

Freedom Hall, State Fair? I think I saw that show, 1991ish?
My first concert was Ray Stevens at the TVA Fair in Knoxville. I have no regrets.
My first concert was Matthew Mitchell and The Go Big Blue Band outside the updated Commonwealth Stadium.
in a fish bowl.
My first concert was the Everly Brothers at the old Cardinal Stadium. The greatest musical act to come out of the Bluegrass State, Loretta included.
Huey Lewis and the news at Rupp arena, and I believe the opener was Kenny G.
Shew, Power of Love blew the roof off.
Shew, Power of Love blew the roof off.
You mean there was still some roof left to blow off after Kenny G's blazingly hot performance at Rupp?
Randy Travis and Alan Jackson in Rupp Arena. Jackson was the opening act, of course.
Hunker down. Winter is coming.
These guys wouldn’t have lost Saturday
Night Ranger 1985. Mezger Amphitheater in Evansville. Johnny Van Zant's band was the opener.
- Whitney Houston at Freedom Hall, August of 1986
- I want Dodgers vs. Yankees.
- I'm so jealous of any Reds fan who vividly remembers The Big Red Machine. What an unbelievable ride that must have been.
- Three things I want at least once every October...chili, an apple cider donut, and a pumpkin roll.
- ANDY'S gonna shut things down again by the end of the month. Schools, at least. I just feel it. If he ran against a decent (read: not Bevin) Republican candidate tomorrow, how much would he lose by? 5? 10?
- This honk from West Virginia has to be watching Herro perform in the bubble and thinking "I'm next", right? Kid's pretty legit. Plus, his hometown is "Poca". I just want to hear that during starting lineup intros at Rupp.
- Respect any pro franchise who has kept their same uniforms for decades and doesn't get caught up in the nonsense of switching up every 6-7 years. Packers, Dodgers, etc.

I love that the Padres went back to their original colors. Those unis are sharp. Now Tampa Bay needs to move to Montreal and become the Expos again so we can bring back their gorgeous gear.
Very vague memories of Big Red Machine but one of my favorite sports memories was my Dad, who's been dead about 20 years now,, woke 9- year old me up on a school night when he got in from work to see if I wanted to watch a game of the 1979 NLCS against the Pirates. It seemed like a really big deal at the time
You need to watch it more detached. It’s ridiculous on all sides. Try again.
Lollapalooza 1994: The Smashing Pumpkins, Beastie Boys, George Clinton & the P-Funk All Stars, The Breeders, A Tribe Called Quest
Smashing Pumpkins were the final act, Beastie Boys came on right before them. The BB blew the roof off the place. People started throwing bottles and Billy Corgan and he threatened to leave. A young Wayne Dougan saw women making out with each other and thought that was the overall highlight.

AC DC at Madison Square Garden, 1981 For those About to rock tour, Midnight Flyer (whoever they were) opened up.
Wasn’t my first show but that was the best show I’ll ever attend.
* You know a Zoom call is gonna be a real freaking hoot when they start with...
"well, we know everyone is getting a little worn down with Zoom calls, so we want to make this one FUN and INTERACTIVE and hope to get everyone a little more engaged in the conversation this morning."
Good grief.
* I keep looking at the football schedule, trying to figure out which games would make the best road trip. Ugh. Force of habit, I guess.
* Last night was one of those in which I finally caught up on sleep. 10 solid hours, and still didn't want to get out of bed. Felt glorious.
* Nice article from Brian Fathorst on the blackest player in the league:
Kinda missed all that swag in Lexington, though.
* And for good record, the Mark Stoops-inspired Alan Jackson Top 10....
Murder on Music Row
Wanted
Chasin that Neon Rainbow
Midnight in Montgomery
Livin on Love
Here in the Real World
Gone Country
Dont Rock the Jukebox
Dallas
There Goes
I Dont Even Know Your Name
* Mayor announces a furlough of all 4,000 city employees, or what amounts to a 10% paycut across the board, many of whom will continue working the exact same # of hours. Why would any of these people ever vote for her ever again?
* Here's who holds up a peace sign and throws a hard point out into the crowd in a surge of enthusiasm.....
- chiefpaduke after getting a girls number, expecting to get laid
- uko putting on his jean shorts and gold chain, assuming he's fashionable
- krazykats waltzing into stock yards bank & trust, asking to speak to the manager about a distillery loan
- a 44 year-old drxman staring down a pull-up bar, attempting to relive his high school glory
- bonzo, sending unsolicited richard pics to his most recent bumble match

Nothing like sweating over a computer starting the day painfully slowly when you've got a 9 am zoom motion hour, that then starts at 9:20 because the judge felt like starting then. Shout out to our dearly departed GYERO alum judges, it must be a nice gig.
Not my first show, but Ghost in the Palace in 2018 was the nerdiest best musical experience of my life. Went by myself and was hoarse for 3 days after. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Wolf Trap with Derek Trucks Band, Umphrey's McGee and Marc Broussard opening was also a fantastic show. I'd love to go to Tedeschi Trucks when covid allows concerts again. Went to that and Pat Metheny at Strathmore with my dad. Wish he lived closer so we could do that more often.
Small Town Murder at Bogart's is hands down the funniest comedy show I've ever been to, but Tom Segura at a hole in the wall club in Louisville is right there. His bit about Pacman Jones had me in tears.

My first concert was The Oak Ridge Boys at the State Fair in 1982 with my dad.
Best concert was probably Sir Paul McCartney at Rupp.
I've seen Strait 3 times, David Allen Coe about 6 times, Garth Brooks twice, Buffet twice and Steve Earle twice. Only national acts I've seen multiple times.
Caught Dylan with The Dead, that was pretty cool too.
Allman Bros or Prine are tied for my favorite artists show though.

I once saw Bell Biv Devoe in concert three times in a span of six months.
~Biden's recent grocery store gaffe is a top 5'er. Instant commercial for the Trumpster.
~Holiday's are going to be here and gone w/ the quickness this year, and that's fine this year.
~4 day trip to DeSantis land in a couple of weeks for golf and beach....and no, Andy, I am not q'tining when I return.
~Reds score yet?
~The original Ruffle and some french onion dip is the best chip combo, followed by tortilla/guac.
~First concert was Seger (Night Moves tour at Rupp in 77)
Here is a site you can search for every concert at Rupp...

**stay safe Pti.

My first concert was Sugar Ray and the Goo Goo Dolls (I was 15 don't judge me) in Knoxville around 98 or so which was also the first time I got to see real boobs in person. Some girl was on her boyfriend's shoulders and kept flashing and high school freshman me along with my buddies were just mesmerized.
The best concert I've been to was in '08 when we got a few days of R&R at the main Air Force Base in Al-Asad, Iraq. We got to see Zac Brown, Kelly Pickler, and Kid Rock...we were given a 6 hour notice that we would be able to attend so I proceeded to make a sign out of MRE boxes that said "All I want for Christmas is a kiss from Kelly" - it was cheesy, but it worked.
Speaking of concerts, this has been one of the things I've missed most during the pandemic - live music.

-def leppard opening for billy squire in 84.
Cool shows "big acts at small venues":
-RHCP at uk student center ballroom*.
-Black Keys at the Dame
-NIN at bogarts**.
*tons of good shows there in the 80's-early 90's.
**see above.
-notable: prine at the small riverbend venue...lost dogs and mixed blessings tour.

On big shows at small venues, I saw Haggard at Coyotes in Louisville.
Top shows I'd time travel to see
1. The Who on the first run Quadrophenia tour 1973-1974
2. NIN circa Broken 1994-1995
3. The Police live in Buenos Aires (I think that was for Synchronicity?)
4. Nightwish at 2016 Wacken Open
5. Pat Metheny on the Road to You tour 1992-1993
6. Van Halen 1978
7. Motley Crue on the Dr. Feelgood Tour
Speaking of the Crue, if you haven't watched The Dirt on Netflix yet, you should. Just make sure you have a raincoat handy for opening scene.
and I'm still jealous my dad was at the 1996 Final Four with his best bud, who happens to be a Syracuse grad.
