- I'm so jealous of any Reds fan who vividly remembers The Big Red Machine. What an unbelievable ride that must have been.
- Three things I want at least once every October...chili, an apple cider donut, and a pumpkin roll.
- ANDY'S gonna shut things down again by the end of the month. Schools, at least. I just feel it. If he ran against a decent (read: not Bevin) Republican candidate tomorrow, how much would he lose by? 5? 10?
- This honk from West Virginia has to be watching Herro perform in the bubble and thinking "I'm next", right? Kid's pretty legit. Plus, his hometown is "Poca". I just want to hear that during starting lineup intros at Rupp.
- Respect any pro franchise who has kept their same uniforms for decades and doesn't get caught up in the nonsense of switching up every 6-7 years. Packers, Dodgers, etc.

I love that the Padres went back to their original colors. Those unis are sharp. Now Tampa Bay needs to move to Montreal and become the Expos again so we can bring back their gorgeous gear.
Very vague memories of Big Red Machine but one of my favorite sports memories was my Dad, who's been dead about 20 years now,, woke 9- year old me up on a school night when he got in from work to see if I wanted to watch a game of the 1979 NLCS against the Pirates. It seemed like a really big deal at the time

Smashing Pumpkins were the final act, Beastie Boys came on right before them. The BB blew the roof off the place. People started throwing bottles and Billy Corgan and he threatened to leave. A young Wayne Dougan saw women making out with each other and thought that was the overall highlight.

Nothing like sweating over a computer starting the day painfully slowly when you've got a 9 am zoom motion hour, that then starts at 9:20 because the judge felt like starting then. Shout out to our dearly departed GYERO alum judges, it must be a nice gig.
Not my first show, but Ghost in the Palace in 2018 was the nerdiest best musical experience of my life. Went by myself and was hoarse for 3 days after. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Wolf Trap with Derek Trucks Band, Umphrey's McGee and Marc Broussard opening was also a fantastic show. I'd love to go to Tedeschi Trucks when covid allows concerts again. Went to that and Pat Metheny at Strathmore with my dad. Wish he lived closer so we could do that more often.
Small Town Murder at Bogart's is hands down the funniest comedy show I've ever been to, but Tom Segura at a hole in the wall club in Louisville is right there. His bit about Pacman Jones had me in tears.

I've seen Strait 3 times, David Allen Coe about 6 times, Garth Brooks twice, Buffet twice and Steve Earle twice. Only national acts I've seen multiple times.

Allman Bros or Prine are tied for my favorite artists show though.

My first concert was Sugar Ray and the Goo Goo Dolls (I was 15 don't judge me) in Knoxville around 98 or so which was also the first time I got to see real boobs in person. Some girl was on her boyfriend's shoulders and kept flashing and high school freshman me along with my buddies were just mesmerized.
The best concert I've been to was in '08 when we got a few days of R&R at the main Air Force Base in Al-Asad, Iraq. We got to see Zac Brown, Kelly Pickler, and Kid Rock...we were given a 6 hour notice that we would be able to attend so I proceeded to make a sign out of MRE boxes that said "All I want for Christmas is a kiss from Kelly" - it was cheesy, but it worked.
Speaking of concerts, this has been one of the things I've missed most during the pandemic - live music.
