Like the guy in Atlanta who got killed for driving drunk + fighting with police + stealing their taser and firing it at them (and the police officer is currently being prosecuted for murder for no other reason than to appease the mob)?

Or maybe like the rapist who fought with police while at the home of his rape victim and then tried to retrieve a knife and who isn't even dead?

Or maybe the guy who was high on fentanyl and probably died from a heart attack related to that?

So far about 3 times as many people have died from rioting compared to unarmed black people killed by police every year. Maybe we should start rioting to protest the rioting?!?!

The fact that you want to go want to go tit for tat with anecdotal b.s. tells me all I need to know. You're simple.

No they didn't. They joined in for political purposes cause this country is a confederacy of dipshits that fawn over optics. Those riots were happening regardless. Probably made it worse tho. I'll concede that.

EDIT: I'm the biggest hypocrite right now. Starting political debate in the rando thread. My bad.
Right, and when they conceded they were happening they should've conceded everyone else needs to get back to life. But instead we encouraged riots while shaming the **** out of travelers, backyard birthday parties, college kids, bars, and restaurants as the main driver of cases. Hint, they're not.

It's disgusting. Orange guy does some terrible ****, but if you can swallow that^, then you might want to look in the mirror.

Good news is, for 6 months now, we've very close to a vaccine. We're very, VERY close. Warp speed. Fastest in history. Vaccine is coming very quickly. The vaccine is so moving quickly it's almost here. We're extremely close to a vaccine. The vaccine is moving at the fastest in history.

I don't disagree. We could've put common-sense preventative measures in place. Accept that some people are going to get sick, mitigate it as best as possible, and avoid decimating small businesses and K-12 education.

Neither side was worth a **** at this. A microcosm of where we are at as a country. Over-reaction (or under) to put your foot down against the other side. We politicized a god damned virus.

Did you answer the question about these Woodward tapes, anth? Sorry if I missed it.
I haven't listened to them, nor will I, because how many books, trials, investigations, etc are enough before you all realize why Trump got elected?

Regardless, they'd have to be pretty damning for me to hold anyone responsible for the initial reaction to the virus knowing what we know now. All our main comparable countries handled it about the same. That tells me no early policy was stopping the virus. I've openly criticized Trump and his handling of the initial response and then subsequently engaging in the politicization of the virus.

<-- still in search of the politician that I can look at and say "damn, that guy/gal did a GREAT job handling this pandemic."

Not holding my breath.

Why are you searching for that? And if you are, then what is your criteria, because all avenues have been traveled....lock downs and even more strict lock downs, casual openings and places that opened too quick and too soon.....there wasn't and isn't a formula for this. However, one common theme is that most versions of lock downs have created disastrous effects for those communities.....the economic turmoil and it's related consequences that many predicted would happen is taking place and shows no signs of letting up.

:: I know of a 300+ person wedding that happened around here recently. This **** just pisses me off to no end. Even at the "acceptable" positive test rate of 5% that's still 15 people that can potentially infect others. How many places do those 15 people go a day? If those 15 people think it's OK to go to a 300 person wedding in an enclosed space does that mean they're all good with going to hot spots? It's **** like this that are going to keep those restrictions we so desperately hate in place.

That's not how positive test rate works. 5% of all people don't get the virus. To date, 1.2% of the entire state has contracted the disease. *Note, this total cases includes probable cases where a test was never run but we'll just go ahead and count it as a case because(?).

Not to turn this into DADYERO but you guys weren’t kidding with the no sleep thing. I had no idea they fed every 2-3 hours and only went in and out of sleep.
Being a zombie just becomes normal after about two weeks, then you'll feel like 'I got this' only to have a new challenge pop up. Rinse and repeat for months.

Once my oldest started sleeping through the night (~4 months), she would wake up every morning right before 5. She was so consistent with it that even though her sleep pattern changed three years ago, I still wake up at 4:55 every. single. damn. day. It sucks.

But soak it all in. Time flies.

Why didn't what work? Do you think the President of the United States, with access to the greatest IC in the world could have been more effective by not withholding that type of information? Do you think downplaying it was the right strategy?

You guys like to disassociate yourselves with this POS while never condemning what he does, or in this case, doesn't do. ****'s old.

You probably need to go back and fact check your dates, and the related policies and comments that Trump implemented/made instead of just spouting off Rachel Maddog talking points.

While you are doing that, check the comments and instructions that came from the "scientific" gurus during the onset of this mess.

When you are done, grab a fork and some A1 and enjoy the hell out of your crow.

The chick-n-minis from chick-fil-a are a close second, and a just plain ole sausage biscuit from McDonalds is underrated. Egg McMuffins are trash imo

-i like how the number of cases has become a thing with the corona virus. WGAF...hospitalizations and deaths are the only meaningful stats.

-viruses aren't eradicated, they are managed. The ******* black plague still exists.

-Vaccines aren't a panacea. They can be a tool...but not a solution. Again the reality is that we dont eradicate we mitigate. Nature is gonna do nature stuff we just gotta manage it to the best of our abilities.

I already apologized and tried to derail it. ****, man.

But... I like how about 10 people are engaging in this [nonproductive] discussion and you take out your frustration on the lurker. Kinda wack. And you have a Bruce Pearl avatar. GFY.

Lol. She’s the most powerful woman in the country. You don’t think she knew??? Coming off a failed impeachment attempt, she was going to do anything she could to make Trump look bad. The two events were literally weeks apart.

NBA randoms....

-What Toronto is doing, post-Kawhi, is remarkable. No "elite" draft prospects, just a bunch of hard-nosed dudes that make huge plays. Fred VanVleet is four feet tall but is an absolute warrior. NOBODY saw that guy's career playing out the way it has. That spat between Lowry and Nick Nurse at the end of the game was bizarre. Would love to know how/if that was settled afterward.

-Never really believed in the Bucks.

-Cassidy Hubbarth is not good. Too over-enthusiastic. Rachel Nichols does a much better job in that role. Of course, nobody comes close to Doris.

-Had totally forgotten that Patterson was on the Clippers. Too caught up in my dislike of TREZ to notice, I guess. And why are they wearing uniforms that look like a late-90's rap album cover? Their blue-and-red logo works just fine. Also didn't realize that they're moving into a new Inglewood arena in a few years, leaving the Staples Center to be the Lakers' alone.

-At first I thought it was ridiculous that the draft has been pushed all the way to November. But then I realized that's it's already September. I just assumed it was March 218th or whatever.

-Michael Porter Jr. (non-Wildcat) is a problem. An All-Star sooner rather than later.

Or maybe we shouldn’t have done anything and just let the virus play itself out. Instead of destroying small business and implementing a $5 trillion stimulus package.

Stay inside. Wear a mask. Save lives!!!

My kids want to go back to ******* school.

Regarding the Woodward tapes SAE, the President had interviews back when this started that said he was downplaying it so as to not cause mass panic. Anyone paying attention knew this already. Also very convenient that Woodward has a book going on sale.

There is a clip of Nancy Pelosi describing a technique called the wrap up smear from several years ago. She describes exactly what has been happening the last few weeks to Orange Man Bad. She basically says we can get away with it because our base will believe anything we say.

Chad, I don’t care how tired you or your wife get, do not let that baby sleep in your bed.

I have had a kid in my bed for 10 years(my children nothing like how that reads), and it took me buying a twin mattress and throwing it on my floor and sleeping there before my wife decided not to let our 4th child in our bed.
